This is wonderful. I loved the Hollie's version, The MonaLisa Twins, version, and this may be my favorite version.
this is haunting and reflective, and that what's makes it different and special. when the original writer performs his own song, he can put into it all the original emotions and thoughts, and you can see on his face that's exactly what he's invoking here. and he was 15 when he wrote this song.

Thanks Graham! I first fell in love at a Bus stop in Liscard village early in 1971. She had dark hair and was carrying a wicker basket. I was just 15 waiting to catch the bus to school. She was there every morning.
The girls all used wicker naskets for their school books then. We had briefcases they had wicker baskets.

No offense but I think it is a little silly and a sterile debate to compare great songwriters, it is like comparing great guitarists.. it is a matter of personal opinion. I prefer Neil but Graham is great and Ronny excellent as well..
Now what I really want to know is, is the story true, did he marry that girl?
