I had read forum posts to the effect that a dynamic mic should ignore phantom power, but I don't think it is good advice. The manual for the Tascam SD-20M says: "Turning phantom power on when a dynamic mic or other mic that does not require it is connected could damage this unit and the connected equipment."
@Stefano Pavone Yeah I usually just leave phantom power on on by B set with 4 of these plugged in all the time and I haven't noticed anything. So I suspect people are just being overly cautious.

Ah. Maybe I will do some testing of that in the future. To see what is true.
