This video was a lifesaver! The instructions that came in the box is not friendly for a newbie at all
You are welcome. I’m glad I could help you out. It is a great saw! Good luck with your new miter saw!
Seriously. The instruction manual is crap!
Yes, you are a lifesaver! Thank you!
Your not kidding. Had a hell of a time lol.
Complete lifesaver of a video. Thanks!
This seemed like a good first miter saw, especially for 95 bucks on Amazon Prime Day. It was delivered this afternoon, and I spent 30 minutes scratching my head over the printed instructions, then went searching for a video. Thankfully I found yours. Had me safely up and running in no time. Great job!
Fantastic video. I’m a female senior citizen and have never used power tools. So informative and helpful. Now I’m not as intimidated to cut board and batten. Thank you thank you!
I’m glad you found my video helpful and informative. Thank you! Good luck with your board and batten project. Take care!
Same here! Your video was an absolute life saver!!
Same here! Thank you!
Great video. I'm 70, female, and have been DYI projects all my life. Have a lot of tools and finally decided I needed a compound chop saw (my current non-compound Delta saw won't cut through a 4.5" board I'm using for baseboard). The instructions for this saw are fine, but slow reading. Your video was straight-forward in it's explanations. Thanks for the video!
Glad I could help!
this is in my opinion the perfect review. covers in a humble way every detail you might want to see.
Thanks for the tutorial! My first saw purchase. One look at that beast and then a bigger beast of an owner’s manual, and I was about to send it back. This took all the intimidation out of the process.
Thank you SO MUCH for this video! I wouldn't have known how to setup and operate my new miter saw without your help. Project is now successfully completed and I look forward to using this tool on future projects.
Just got the last one today at Lowes for $120 and it is a great saw. Thank you for making this video I set it up it was a breeze thanks to you! Appreciate it bro!
Thank you for the tutorial! I'm 5'2" and bought this saw to replace my 12" DeWalt compound miter saw that was stolen a year ago.
As much as I LOVED that saw it was heavy for me to haul around so I opted for this one for its weight of 24lbs & the $119 price at Menards.
The reviews were great!!
I always like to see how far I can get with assembly before I open the instructions and sadly it wasn't very far.
Then I realized the instructions weren't helpful.
So glad I found your video. I subscribed to your channel. Looking forward to more help😊
Fantastic work, really appreciated your video. Great editing, no fluff or unnecessary music.
Omg thank you so much! As a woman i had no idea how to assemble this saw and your video is a total lifesaver! Thank you thank you thank you!
Perfect video! I just got my Hetabo yesterday and this tutorial really helps me - thanks!
Best review/tutorial ever. No useless fluff, great demonstration
Just received my Metabo miter saw today. Scored it on Amazing for $108. Like most assemblies I forego the instructions. I stumbled across your channel looking for user reviews of the saw. Your straight forward no clutter presentation made me a sub. Looked at your list of videos and immediately knew this is the channel for me. During my 70 years I have gained just enough knowledge and skills to be dangerous. Your vids will be a good resource. Thanks
You will really like this saw. I use mine all the time! You have an awesome outlook with your decision. Good luck with your saw. Thanks for watching!
Very well explained! Thanks for all the detail and close ups!
Thank you so much. I purchased mine 3 months and could not even come close to understanding the directions. Look forward to watching more of your videos. Also, more than happy to subscribe. 😊
This was a great video that covers everything about the saw and the unpacking part was so helpful.
Your video is a piece of art. It is so informative that it may me decide which saw I should be buying. Thanks again for this amazing video.
Outstanding tutorial! I cant think of anything you may have missed. Great job!
Thank you Keith! I hope you found it helpful!
As a single mom learning to do things on my own to save money… THANK YOU! Some things do need to be manspained and this was perfection 🙌🏼
Thanks so much! You saved me a lot of time, and made me even more happy about my purchase of the Metabo saw.
Same comment as many others - appreciate you breaking the unboxing and installing processes down. Instructions were a challenge at best!
Great video. I did not know how to unpack and assemble my new Metabo saw. Thanks for building the confidence in me to use this tool.
Thank you very much for this video. I just ordered this saw !! You were very thorough . I've never used a miter saw before but I have always wanted one. Thank you very much, I just subscribed to your channel.
I bought a 10" Metabo mitre saw from Rona 2 years ago on sale for $109 its been flawless to date
For the price you cannot beat it!
Thanks for a great video, I was struggling with the directions! Appreciate you time and attention to detail.
Thank you for the video, just bought saw today and was trying to put it together and couldnt figure it out, instuctions didnt explain very well to me. Your video after wacthing done in minutes. Saved me a huge headache.
Nicely done, helped me set up my saw.
Thank you! I appreciate the review and set up. This video was very helpful.
This video was ridiculously helpful! Thank you!
Fantastic! I’m glad I could help!
Very good video thanks for your information it was really useful for me
Excellent, superb, instructional video. Just finished putting mine together. My first time owning and using a miter saw. Thank you! Subbed👍🏾
Nicely done !
Thank you
Well done. I didn't need another saw but couldn't pass this up for the price. Would make a good framing saw like you use or trim. Lightweight and easy to move around.
Thank you for a very nice and detailed description.
I have the older Hitachi saw and it was lightest in class, very nice for going up two flights of stairs. Only gripe is she is loud for what it is.
Excellent video. Exactly what I needed. Thank You!!
Great video and very helpful! Thank you!
Very smart review, short and to the point. Thank you.
I am so appreciated for your video which explaining in details and demonstrating cutting in different materials. As a new user of the miter saw, I got a great start from your instruction and honest review. Thank you very much.
I’m glad you found this video hopefully. I tried to make all of my videos as straightforward as possible. Thanks for watching!
I have this saw on order from Lowes. Delivery due on Tuesday. I think that watching this video is going to make it much easier to get started when it arrives.
Great video and thank you.
I think you will really like this saw. I use it all the time and I am always am impressed with it for the price. I hope it works great for you!
Super super super helpful!! Thank you SO much!!
This was so helpful! Thank you so much!
Hitachi-Koki has always had a good name in the industry. For trim work use the smallest miter saw possible. Like a 7 1/4". For less deflection in the blade. And of course use a very good blade. Thanks for the review!
This saw is perfect for small work-45 degree angles on 2x4’s and 90 degree angles on 2x6’s.Ordered the laser version,it was an extra $40 bucks, but considering the accuracy factor,it was worth the extra money. My go to saw for complex tasks is heavy and mounted on a stand which takes some effort to get work ready, this saw will make life easier. Thanks for the tutorial.
Great explanation 👌🏽
Great Video, You made it a breeze with my setup!
It is extremely good for the price and as a basic framing saw. I'm impressed so far with mine.
Awesome video. Very well done. Thank You
Appreciate that. You’re welcome!
I appreciate the review on the metabo miter saw.
The section on usage was quite informative. Would there be any recommendations as an alternative for the post that you were not able to cut?
Good job! Thank you!
Thank you for this video. Just bought this saw, my first experience with miter saws and I was a little unclear on how to attach the accessories and use the bevel feature, very helpful and detailed video to get me started.
I know when you first get a new tool, it can be confusing on how to put everything together. I was hoping this video would help somebody like you with that. Be sure to stay tuned for more and enjoy your saw!
Thanks...........much better than the instruction in. the box
I used my grandpa's miter saw when I was a kid and it pinched up on me and scared me from using one again. I use all types of saws every day but I never used a miter saw again after that. What causes a saw to bind up like that? I just bought the metobo 10" miter saw as shown in the video, thank you for the detailed video!
Just like the others below...great video and explanations. You now how a new subscriber!
Thank you for this video. I’ve owned this exact mitre saw for almost 2.5yrs and didn’t know it was so versatile 🥴😜 (yeah who actually reads that instruction manual anyway)
This may be a weird question, “what is the holder used for that goes on the back”?
I have the same question. The manual description is very unclear. The holder is meant to help stabilize the power tool. but how? "Adjust the holder until its bottom surface contacts the work bench surface" . It is parallel to the bench surface. How can it ever contacts it?
Yes wondering the same thing???
Thanks for the video! I would love to see a comparison between the Metabo miter saw vs. the Evolution multi material miter saw those are the two I've narrowed down to considering on buying.
Super awesome video. I am now subscribed 😂🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thanks bro just bought one
Thanks, you helped me cut to the quick on prepping this thing. The instructions might as well be in Korean, Cheers!👍
Just picked it up from a local Menards for $120. I am a hobbyist and DIY and was looking at all kinds of 10-12” sliders. This one is way less expensive, lighter, compact, and plenty for all of my needs.
Good Lawt! So thankful that you made this video! As a "newbie" to mitre saws in general, but not great teachers (I am an educator) A+++! Any suggestions for loosening up the nut that holds the saw blade on? I dont know if Im too weak to do it, or if mine is just put on EXCEPTIONALLY well. Thanks again! 😅🎉😊
Loved review. Just setup mine. When putting saw for 90 degree corner, the saw blade is slightly off and the indented measurements 45 degree angles.
I’ve tried to adjust it so the blade is line up perfectly with the number 45 , but can’t find a way to hold it there. Would appreciate any information. Thanks.
Thank you for your detail review. Have you tried to cut 6x4 using it ? Thanks.
Love it thank you
You are welcome!
Excellent video
Thank you!
Thank you!! I should have known better, I learn by watching better than reading, wish I came straight to RUclips rather than struggle with the manual first 😂
This will be my first electric miter saw, using it for crown molding in my whole house!! (Doing it by hand in a miter box is AWFUL 😩) So glad it's such a great value!
Thank you. The company should qr code to this video. Life saver ❤❤
You are welcome! Yeah, that would be cool. Thanks for the tip!
New subscriber here. Absolutely, amazing video. From the info on bolting the saw to a 10 inch piece of wood ( I only had a 12 on hand) to what and where the bag of pieces, I was ready to throw back in the box, were to be placed, cause i felt intimidated.
🌻🌷Thank you so much! I just got the nerve to take mine out of the box!
Mmm nice saw. I’m currently looking for a battery powered Miter saw however. Any suggestions? I have a fondness for Milwaukee tools. I have a few of their powered tools over 20years old and they are working great. Nice video appreciate your safety points of view.
Thank you!
Thank You
Pulling off old trim baseboard in my living room and will replace it with new. Would you recommend this saw for this project or should I upgrade to a different chop saw?
I'm considering this saw for a hobby of mine where I don't need an expensive/contractor saw. Thank You for your honest and detailed review of abilities of this saw. Awesome video/review!
Thanks for watching!
Great video. One question. That last piece you installed you called a "holder". What does it hold?
Nut and bolt problem 😮
Great tutorial until I started the sub- fence attachment.
The flat screw and the M6 nut were not included.
I bought this saw from Amazon and am not inclined to pack it up and return it.
I can't find a good description of it so I can look for a replacement. I went to Lowes and bought the closest thing I could find but it didn't sink right.
Does anyone know where I can find the description of these.
Thank
hiya!- taht is perfect vlog- ))
Thank you I love to put out good content , so I appreciate that!
Just got this saw, what is the purpose of the "holder" installed in the back?
I have this saw on my work table but the dust collector bag is mostly useless. Even when connecting a shop vac to the back theres scattered debrie. Is there anything youve tried as a homemade add on. Thanks
Can you show how to make sure everything is square and how to adjust if not. I read some reviews saying it. Was not aligned or squared correctly.
Excellent review, I just bought this saw to cut my baseboards and trim in my basement. For MDF baseboard (3.5" x 0.5") what blade would you recommend, as you mentioned a finer blade is required for molding? Thank you again for the great video. Thumbs up!
Thank you so so much! I use the 100 tooth DeWalt blade for trim typically. Any brand should work fine as long as it’s a fine tooth. I hope that helps!
I’m holding down the lock just like you said, and it’s definitely pushed down, but I cannot get this nut to move clockwise or counterclockwise
Great review and setup thank u,,,I do have question,,for some reason the handle that u screw on is not allowing me to adjust the saw,,the handle seems to big I can't push the tab down all the way to move the saw for different angles,,I have the handle off n it works,,,any suggestions on that???
I just watched the whole video now I see what u did lol I figured it out didn't realize u had it lose lol,,,great video really helped me thank u
Any tips for taking the bolt off during blade change? Did as you instructed here but the bolt seems ceased and won’t turn at all. I am holding the lock as well but it will not budge
Nice video
Thanks Zac!
Metabo HPT offers a cordless version of this saw at 18V
But their best saws are their 36V 10" and 7 1/4 sliding compound mitre saws
The 36V Metabo HPT/Hitachi tools also can be used with the AC adapter to plug u to power so no need for a bunch of batteries when u have AC access
Also check out ACME tools for the large complete line of MHPT tools
Lowes doesnt have the full line in stores other than their "top nailers and fasteners"
Im a Mileaukee and Makita guy but have been replacing much of those tools in our contruction and fabricating business as MHPT is really making great tools at good prices and lifetime warranty
Which nail gun model would you recommend for nailing treated 2x4, 2x6, 2x8 and 4x4 together (moderate use - not daily) ?????
Do u want cordless or air
@@raywill9149best deal for cordless 21° Metabo HPT is ACME Tools NR189DRSTM
normally $319 but on sale for $299 and daily primo code for $25 off so $274 & come with 2 batteries charger and bag
@@raywill9149Lowes has same kit at $319 but u get a free 7 1/4 18V circular saw($149 value)
If your looking for air nailer then the best professional nailer in business is the
NR83A5( this nailer has basically been around in different forms for 20+ yrs and has made many contractors lots of money(most productive and durable on mkt) $319
They also have a good home owner/professional version the NR1890DRSTM that does great work and is durable for $159 , Lowes and Acme put these on sale for $129 often
I just received my saw.
The box had clearly been opened and retaped. Wondering if I should just send it back.
The little plate that goes behind the fence is missing and whatever screws came with it. Hard to see all of little parts in the video. I do have all the bigger piece and one knob.
HPT sent me a parts list, if that can locate All the parts and I’m missing, they will send them to me. There are a lot of parts so not sure I can do that.
So a few questions:
I it safe to use without that plate for the fence? What difference will it make if I put fence on without it?
Or should I just send it back?
What’s that holder in the back for?
Having Trouble with the locking pin any help?
OMGsh! Thank you sooo much for making this video! I couldn't make sense of the directions at all. I was frustrated beyond belief. NOW that I know how to unlock the saw with the side pin I can actually use the dang thing! One question though...I'm having trouble pulling the pin out to unlock it. What's your advice on doing that before I break it 😂 Thanks!
@tg2631 You have to push down on the black handle in front of the blade, lowering the actual blade itself somewhat, into the unit. It is easy then. Hope that helps.
@@miraworldus tx!!!
I'm like you. I have my Milwaukee 10" older slide compound saw for all my detail work and never sees a 2×4. My 180 tooth blade is my best as well.
I have an older 10" Makita I use for just simple build projects that don't need real detail work, even though you can use it if needed. My blades are always sharpened regardless of a project. This, of course, takes the pressure off the brushes and other things.
Thank you for this post and sharing with so many others. 🔨👍🏻
I remember, my father had a old Makita saw, and it still works today! They make a great saw. If you’re in the trades, I definitely feel like two different saws is essential. 180 tooth blade is definitely a fine blade! Keeps the cuts nice and clean. Thanks for your comment David! Take care!
What's the purpose of the holder than you installed at 16:40?
Thanks for the content. Can this saw cut a 2x6 at a 45 degree angle?
Yes
How does it do for cutting 4x4? I have some home projects in mind and just needed to know if it can handle that. Thank you!
In his demonstration he did show that it could cut through a 4x4, which I'm very happy about!
We just got one, and we cannot get the angle cut adjustment AKA turntable, to move. Is there a trick we missed? It’s locked up. Thanks!
I had the same problem with mine. To fix it I loosened the large bolt on the back next to the clamp lever. It takes a 3/4” socket. It took considerable elbow grease to move it, but it did move.
Edited to add: you may have to first remove the Phillips head screw in the plastic bevel handle to access the turntable bolt.
Grabbed mine for $99 from Amazon on black Friday 2023 (dropped to $95 on cyber Monday)
Waiting for arrival
Really excited to start sawing
Great review !!!!!!!!!
Thanks
Excellent! That’s a good price on it. I hope it serves you well!
I can’t get saw to go off bevel. Came out of the box like that. I can’t turn the lever behind the saw to move. Is it locked by a bolt???
I had the same problem. I ended up taking the handle off using a Phillips driver, and attaching a socket (7/16” maybe?) to the shaft. The extra torque from the socket wrench loosened it up with a bit of elbow grease, whereas I was getting nowhere with the included handle. Once I loosened it, I reattached the handle and it works fine now. The saw had been sitting in the original box for a while and seized up. Still having trouble with the cutting angle mechanism, as the pivot screw on the bottom of the machine isn’t as easy to access. Your original comment was 5 months ago so you probably got it working somehow, but hopefully this can help someone else.
Great. Cheap too. $89 on eBay
