For anyone doing this, stay flying around zones in Chromie Time until you ding lvl 71. That will allow you to buy the early-craft profession gear (515 ilvl, equippable at 71) off the auction house for 200-300g each. Many of the BoEs that are lvl 70 equippable are actually Dragonflight Epics, around 450ilvl, and are something like 15,000g+ each slot.
Yup that's because the DF Epics will be used for level 70 Twinks because Blizzard is making Twinking super lame and unfriendly. They're essentially just trying to kill the entire Twink scene.
You can collect Dreamsurge Coalescence in one of the 4 dragonflight zones, the zone changes each week. Every one hundred you collect from flying or fighting mobs in that zone will buy a 454 iLvl item. There are also 2 quests in the Emerald Dream which will reward an iLvl 467 item, though sometimes you just get two of the same item. (It loves to drop cloaks for me.)

Set your default Hearthstone to Stormwind and head to the docks to "skip" the Legion intro quest to get teleported to Dalaran and receive the Dalaran Hearthstone. 4. Use the Alliance portal to get back to Stormwind and use the portal to Dalaran in Crystalsong Forest 5. Level in Northrend 10 - 23. Zul'Drak >> Storm Peaks >> Crystalsong Forest >> Icecrown >> Wintersgrasp. Back to the Alliance teleport room and use the Caverns Of Time portal. 6. Level in Kalimdor 23 - 30 Tanaris >> Uldum then head to Eastern Kingdoms. ( Portal in Ramkahen to Stormwind ) 7. Level in Eastern Kingdoms 30 - 46 Searing Gorge >> Badlands >> Twilight Highlands then Wetlands >> Dun Morogh >> Vash'jir ( Fly over the water not in the water ) Hearth back to Stormwind and use portal to Aszuna. 8. Level in all of Legion 46 - 59 then head to Dalaran to use portal to get to Jade Forest. 9. Level in all of Pandaria 59 - 70.

Ya, this path doesn't work at all, either they nerfed the XP gained for exploration or this is just a poor excuse of a route, I'm currrently doing this. So far, I've had to add several zones to hit the level marks you have in this. This is my 1st testing route run. I've had to spend time adding these new zones and make Routes paths for them, AND I've also gained huge chunks of XP from killing a few Rares and Looting chests in zones. So something is off on your little path here. I'm currently 80% into lvl 29 after 5hrs of gameplay.. Your 23-30 just by exploring Tanaris > Uldum is wayyyy off, No way you got 7 levels from just those 2 zones.
Didnt pay much attention to routing past lvl 30 and split my lvling over two days, but still managed to get my earthen warlock from 10 to 71 in just over 5 hours /played. It was quite the refreshing way to lvlup a character, thats for sure.

With this being such a viable leveling method and becoming more popular it would be cool if someone made a mod that actually marked the discoverable subzones on the world map so you can precisely get all of them more efficiently and make sure you don't miss any

At this point create an addon to help you flying to the specific spots to explore areas and then also plan a perfect route that is also reflected in the addon.
I noticed doing this, wiggling with going left and right you unlock zones the moment the white name shows up. This makes it a lot faster then flying in a circle to unlock it! I hope you can make it even faster then 3 hours!!!
Obviously. You pointed out things you could do to speed up the run. You could also have a dedicated door opener for your next run :^) If we got a full data map of exploration locations, you could run an A* on it to get a good approximation of the fastest path.
thanks for this, newer player and got this done in 7 hours. took me a while to figure out how to get everywhere and messed up a couple of times. Still not entirely sure how i was so much slower but it was super easy.
After your last video, I managed to ding 70 at 2:39:59 with this method and a few other speed run tricks. It's very possible to get a sub 2:30 time. I was gonna make a video, but lost motivation once i beat the WR lol.

Did a few to 71 when Chromie yanks you back to the present. Really messed up on my last Earthen and used the Kalimdor/Eastern Kingdoms heirlooms. BIG MISTAKE! You get robbed of both continents. Have a bunch of 60s that I'm trying to see where the sweet spot is from 60 to 71 for non-Earthen. Any suggestions?

Nice update - Tho, i will say .... Using Zygors with all the EXP buffs WITHOUT being this race (i did a Vulp shaman) I was getting 3-5 min per level up to 70. So 10-70 brings you to a solid 5 hours on the high side and a simple 3 hours on the low side. This was using dragonflight and doing story + side quests using Zygors. Warmode + TWW (full 5x 80s). Only using "what everyone else can use" got me just barely over 3 hours. So, outside of this race, the 3 hour mark is 100% obtainable. Keep in mind, you can not die in Dragonflight before 70.

Get the addon Universal Explorer. Shows all the coordinates for discovering areas on the map. Huge QoL for this type of leveling.

if you use Leatrix maps and set the undiscovered regions to green or a bright color it helps a lot.
I've done all northrend, kalimdor and eastern kingdoms by earthen. It took me 1h\10lvl's, so I've spent 6hrs to reach 70lvl in a chill way)
It's a very fun way to level I love it!

If you are willing to mail stuff over and do quests/professions, It is 100% possible to break 2:30.

Time loss was likely the travel time to Hyjal, would have been far faster to just take the hyjal port from the shrine in Stormwind
... I forgot all about the hyjal portal. DANG IT
Now use a mount with multiple seats and bring 3 chars to 70 in 3h 😏

It is! But you can't use it unless you get the quest. It bugged with the War Within release. Im guessing the intro moving Dalaran did it.

I can't go through the last door in the startzone, even after 5 minutes running close to the door. How did you do that?

Yup! Once you unlock Earthen (just requires you to have a max level character and do a short questline) you get access to their exploration buff!

I do know of it! I just prefer seeing the bigger map. It feels weird without it after learning the routes with it. If that makes sense. 🤔
