The Organ is truly magical, haunting in its vibration. You can almost feel the pulse of another Star far away crying out its eternal Song in light. Thanks for playing it for us!
Interstellar's soundtrack is one of the best. The use of the pipe organ really gives a lot of feeling and depth to the music. Even Hans Zimmer said that they chose the pipe organ because it is as close to human as a musical instrument gets.
An interesting comment. Often when I listen to modern compositions, I wonder "What would Mozart or Beethoven think of this?" For this, I wonder "What would Bach think?"
I'm really curious what would happen. I mean, I've heard some epic organ reverberation in our church. Usually after Mass the organist pulls out all the stops and it sounds like a 17th century equivalent of this song. Never underestimate a talented organist after the priest processes out.

This piece sounds really great when played on a piano, but the organ really does take it into another dimension. Nothing else comes close. Amazing performance!

You have seen the movie interstellar and learned to play the music, so you feel like playing this music. So you start to play... You get into the music, pull a few more stops so the music gets louder and louder! You get deeper into the music and your soul takes over! You pull few more stops and play even more passionate! Then slowly the end approaches, all the stops are out but the final notes are there to play. So the moment comes that you play the last note, you keep it for a few seconds and then let go. The music stops, but your soul is still up there between the stars, truly interstellar! Only then you know you made a great performance. depends how large the lowest pipe is. a 32 foot long pipe can generate a frequency down to ~16Hz, so bellow human hearing. 2 years later you now think the wackiest is the Hurdy Gurdy right?
It’s the most bad ass instruments 😂
Almost everything is good until you know how to actually use it
Try listening to the soundtrack of Davy Jones from the Pirates of the Caribbean.
Imagine they started building these in the Middle Ages! Perhaps the synthesizer of its days. Any one know who came up with it first?
hans zimmer is a genius
Do you know how some places, a mall, a store, a public park will have a piano open for anybody to jump on and play and occasionally some musical guru will jump in and just start pounding out an epic song that gathers a crowd? We totally need to make this happen with organs and people who can play music from Interstellar!!!
I love the idea, hate the fact that organs require a lot of infrastructure since it's pipes and air, so a lot more complex than a piano.
Though if that was a thing... damn that'd be awesome
@@zikashauna4928 introducing the newest instrument of 2021, the MICRO ORGAN! 100% SAME SOUND WHILE 500% SMALLER!
@@Eradicator-jv9xr it'd still be the size of a mansion lol
@@zikashauna4928 I mean you could easily do this with a digital organ, good self contained ones can be bought for 15k or less and take up about as much space as a piano
This is 2022 and this still gives me goosebumps. Hope you’re still around man.
I expected to hate this. I was very wrong. Great stuff.
Honestly can't stop watching this, such a great piece
One of my biggest regret is not seeing this movie in theaters.
I unleashed every speaker in my house to listen to this piece, I was not disappointed
How tf is this not on top of the search list?
Impromptu human error is why I love listening to live recordings rather than edited music, honestly. It gives it alot more character, this was great! Loved your use of the organ, and felt it had great dramatic effect. Good stuff.
How deep is that bass inside the church, because I have a feeling that you will feel it in your gutt haha. Awesome playing man!
depends how large the lowest pipe is. a 32 foot long pipe can generate a frequency down to ~16Hz, so bellow human hearing. Some say, churches used such deep tones to make people feel a little bit sick, so donations from people were higher. they belived god will make them healthy again if they contribute.
Oh wow! Thanks for your answer, It sounds very nice though.
flo richi that is a neat tidbit to know
This Charming Man Same, it seems quite weird. For me hearing the organ just makes me happy, as I love its sound.
My art history teacher and I think my physics teacher talked about that, and I think in the mythbuster episode with the brown note they talk about it too.
bro!! You just went to so crazy!! That was AWESOME! I was just laughing once the video finished at how sticking awesome that was! So much intensity and passion! best score ever in my opinion.
These very low notes are powerful, good work on this great theme :)
WOW!! That is a lot of instrument to master, and there you were, playing a complicated piece without music in front of you, on what looks like it could be a miniature organ shop in itself!
what a fabulous organ! true art in the pipe placement! the piece is so emotive. I am drawn. I am compelled. I am humbled.
