- Wednesdays wanderings with weird waves. Its the little portable table top set up for sound exploring and experimenting. Its fun, its relaxing, its not harmfull to others, occupies the mind thereby providing respite from, well, you know....the world these days.
This set up is very simple and inexpensive, mostly used instruments and old or used accessories, just a few new cables, splitters, and a cool new little 6 channel stereo mixer. Always check out the pawn shops where ever you go, I have found like new midi keyboards and old mixers that can be used as fm synthesizers.
To be sure I am enjoying this set up of 2 Bastls into a Korg Nst-1(kastle and ARP), Moog Werkstatt-01 into a Korg Nst-1 mk2 with a knock off keystep attached to the Moog. For whatever its worth the Behringer Swing is a fine clone and super cheep on the used market. Next up a stand alone Bastl B Drum for when I feel a groove on. Then on top of it all is the Korg Volca FM2. Everything runs from its effects or stand alone self to the Moukey 6 channel mixer, a Little bear passive 4 channel which brings in a cheep EWI(electronic wind instrument ) voicing a catalog of sounds, a strange hang drum called Rav Vast that is mic'd up, a second instrument mic for whatever sounds, a vocal mic for same. So the passive little bear mixer takes care of the EWI and mic'd up stuff, mixes it to 1 channel that comes into the powered Moukey mixer. I luv the little bear, was my first passive mixer, so inexpensive, stout build, super handy, works great and tiny size perfect. I found a used korg sequencer and that will be the last bit for this kit. 3 sequencers opens up alot of area for experimenting!
Enjoy the sounds if this is your kind of thing, welcome to my wanderings in and around an unknown soundscap.
