- Harry was a shy parrot at first. But Roberto slowly introduced him to the different environments and soon enough Harry’s personality broke through. He is now a wild, loving, curious and outgoing parrot. He accompanies Roberto everywhere and the two live an amazing life together.

I wonder what Harry would say if he made this video. My pet human Roberto is so friendly. He lives in MY home with me, but I love taking him for walks and adventures. He enjoys "helping" me prepare food, although sometimes we go to a restaurant together (and they even let him come in!). Sure he is strange-looking, being featherless. But he is mine!

Exactly. We adopted a sulpar crested cockatoo 4 years ago. She was age 36 when we got her and she was terribly neglected for her entire first 36 years left outside in a waaay too small cage 😡 She had amazingly coped and her behaviour is quite good considering her sad life..anyhoo she has it all and more now ❤️

@@joannayusuf1969 It hurts my heart to know how lonely,bored and miserable she must have felt. Through a friend of her first “ owners” we found out she was captured as a baby ( from the wild in AU) she had company over the years when the couple were outside etc But the Man died and the lady got old and frail and hadn’t even walked out the back yard for 4 years ( her daughter would come and fill her seed and water every few days and that’s all the social interaction she had in those 4 years. She is a little sweetheart that just wants cuddles ❤️

You got it right Roberto. Parrots need respect and involvement in their surroundings. I have a 5 year old Senegal and she goes everywhere with me. That said as her companion I keep watch for other animals that want to harm her. A relationship with a parrot is very special. So much affection from a bird. ❤❤

He didn't get his decaf
We had a sun conure named Jose. He was the sweetest bird but he was older and we recently lost him. He did not go gently into that goodnight. He ate more and slept more but he lost the battle. Our precious baby is gone. That is why it is such a joy to see this video, as a reminder of our little one.
This bird is a Guarouba Aratinga.

What an absolutely fabulous life Harry leads. I absolutely loved seeing him being included in all the activities. He is obviously very happy to free fly between his humans like that outdoors. What a fabulous story. I love the parrot stories because I have never owned one nor do I know anyone who owns one. I like learning all about their different personalities and just how much you can actually do with them. They make fantastic companions ❤ from Australia 🇦🇺

I had friends that had a parrot.. a big one. Someone clipped his flight wings before my friends got him which in my opinion is cruel.
Anyway this parrot use to scream "heeeelllppp" in a lil old ladies voice sounding like she was lock in a closet. When the cops would show up he wouldn't make a peep. Just as the cops walked back to their squad car he would start screaming for help again.
It was the funniest thing.

@@notme2day hahahaha. I saw something similar on a you tube clip once. A squad car showed up in this man’s driveway when he was working on his car. The audio wasn’t great but you got the gist that the police were saying that they had had a call about there possibly being someone being kept ‘captive’ on the property. You can see the guy looking confused for a minute, but then you see his demeanour relax as he starts laughing and you can hear him say to the officers that they can find the ‘captive’ inside and that they won’t need their weapons. It then cuts to the inside of the house and the man’s parrot who wanted to be allowed out whilst he was working on the car 🤣🤣 sounds like a similar situation to your friend. And yeah I agree it’s cruel clip their wings like that.
I had a mollucan cockatoo that I took from an abusive home and tried working with him for a few years but I didn't know enough or understand the changes that come with a male becoming sexually mature. He became dangerous and I ended up giving him up to the caged bird society in Texas. It broke my heart especially knowing their lifespans can be up to 80 years. I just hopevand pray Oscar ended up with a better life. It was seriously better than what I took him from as he'd been shut up in a closet when he got noisy. He had been in an environment that was noisy ( extremely loud music) and hostile and the people I took him from had the nerve to be pissed at me for not giving him back. That wasn't going to happen. All animals and that includes dogs and cats don't deserve to be in homes and environments where they are not properly cared for. When animals become aggressive it's usually the fault of the idiot humans that bought them. God bless you Oscar. You were a good boy. 😪

Yes it is a life commitment. There’s a parrot in the bird store that outlived his 3 owners. He was born in 1965. They are trying to find someone who has experience with Parrots. Birds are a lot of work. My cockatiel was 20yrs old and died last July. I’m still heartbroken. Once in awhile I still cry for him. He actually had a great life. He died in my hands. I saw him take a few breaths and he died. I didn’t want him to suffer and was going to take vet. He was old for a cockatiel but wished he lived longer.

Conures are one of the few breeds of birds that actually likes being on their back. They also love being with their people. Plus they can be just as goofy as some bigger parrots 😅

They are. BUT... Sadly a lot of people see videos like this and think owning an exotic bird/pet will go just like this and be easy. In real life it takes a lot of time, hard work and energy to get the results you see in these clips. Most people don't do the research necessary to be successful.

No it isn't. You are incorrect. Parrots are wild , not domesticated. They need way more attention than dogs do, not that dogs don't need any. Parrots will always have the wild in them and they will use their instincts to protect themselves, even if they seem to be the sweetest birds.

Despite how adorable all this is, I honestly wish people start as well talking about how difficult can be to own pets and the negatives. Not only how cute they are and how bonded you are. This whole video just encourages people to get a parot and then get bored/not want them and in the worse case even abuse them. I rescued conures from horrible conditions, and it is not easy to take care of them, because you need to be very patient, have a lot of time to give them attention and be financially stable. Also, each animal has different personality.

I so agree with you! It's like the people who bring a Cockatoo on a talk show - of course, it's the sweetest bird, talking, being good. Little do they know that once the babies mature (at different ages for different species), all hell breaks loose. They are not educated and they don't educate themselves about all that parrots need. I know - I volunteered at a parrot rescue. I would go home and cry.

Wow, this is Bob and Connecticut. You are so lucky to have a companion like Harry.. I would never ever ever take the chance with my best friend Spidey. He is a green cheek. conure. He sleeps on the top shelf of the medicine cabinet. I would never take him outside in case he might fly away. Do you have to be very careful because if Harry flies away, someday, you will be very, very sorry.. I also have a sun conure his name is storm they don’t like each other. I have three cockatiels one of them. My ex girlfriend gave me before she passed away. She made a lot of movies and soap opera.. his name is Honey and he says hi honey. I would still be worried that hairy might decide to takeoff on you one day and you will be very very sad..

I've had my 2 parrots for 23 years. They are like kids attached to the hip lol they love playing, music and car rides. It's nice to see how happy his parrot is and not stuck in a cage thanks for sharing 😊
I've had a yellow fronted Amazon parrot for 30 years, and I can say I'm an expert. First of all, parrots have a special relationship with only one member of the family, and consider it as a partner. Mine for example if he was on my shoulder he wouldn't even allow my wife to come near! They are very intelligent, and know how to contextualize words with situations. They require a lot of time and attention, as they hate being alone. Varied diet, without too many sunflower seeds which are harmful to them, fresh fruit, vegetables, and always fresh and clean water. They are IRREPLACEABLE LIFE COMPANIONS!!

I lived with a cherry head conure for 34 years, when he pass away. He talked some but he made many more sounds that had meanings. I could tell by his call if he was saying come see me, or Rios chewing up the furniture! He knew what was supposed to be and what was NOT. I miss him sitting on me each night and asking me to preen him. Conures are very special birds.

So cute. I also raised two little sun parrots. They are also very naughty. Every morning at six o’clock, they start calling their mother to open the door for them.
I would just say one thing about protecting your sweet little guy when he's on your shoulder outside. Birds of prey circle our neighborhood. They roost and build nests in the very tall pine trees and are watching every movement on the ground. I've seen them swoop down and circle when small pets are outside in yards, even on a leash. I dog-sit regularly for a friend who has a Yorkie and the birds are overhead when I walk him so our walks are brief.
My Max, an Amazon, and I lived just like that he was a wonderful friend , I will always miss him
