- Feather took to Stephanie's daughter Sophia as if she was one of her own. They love playing the piano together, they love dancing and they love sharing meals. Feather brought so much joy to their family in three years and Stephanie and her baby girl will be forever grateful.

Feather had spent 15 years alone in a cage in that basement, with no toys, stimuli, or other birds. She was rescued by this family at age 52 and lived 3 1/2 beautiful years with them. RIP Beautiful Feather 🙏🙏🙏
52 years old?
birds live a long time, my african grey is 45 years@@LisaJohnson-dx1dp
@@LisaJohnson-dx1dpthey can live up to 80 years in captivity!
The previous owners appear to be disgraceful people that ought to be jailed for animal cruelty.
There should be charges imo!🤬
Although Feather was only with Sophia for 3 years, the memories of their bond will last a lifetime. RIP to a beautiful soul.😢🦜
What happened they live up to 50-80 years these cockatoos
I know cause I am from Australia
We don’t know how old it was when it was found
I was extremely surprised by the news at the end of Feather's passing. I thought this was the beginning of a lifelong relationship for them, given the long lifespan of cockatoos. They had such a beautiful bond.😔💔
Que linda alma que era essa Cacatua!Sua filha com certeza terá ela de novo em alguma reencarnação...🙏🏼😔💓
aww Sophia RIP
Feather got a great ending to a tough life. She gave a small child unconditional love. An incredible bird and wonderful soul.
She at least got a very happy ending to her life! I'm at least thankful for that!
Amen ❤🙏🏼🕊️
It went both ways. I am sure that child will remember that always!
The child also returned the unconditional to Feather.
It is such a shame she went through what she had. To me the is a form of abuse.😢
Feather saved up all her love for her final burst of beautiful life. RIP winged angel.
Sadly being kept in a basement likely didn't help poor Feather. They are generally, dank, musty places with little to no daylight. So glad he was put in touch with this loving woman and her sweet little girl. It would seem that his last 3 years were his best 3 years. RIP gorgeous Feather.
Feather was a SHE not a He!
@@MissJools11 So THAT'S your takeaway from all that I wrote? Really? Wow! That's just sad.
@@GODDESS1966 tis sad that feather is gone ummm I wonder if it was old age. At least she didn't become distant or fearful of humans after that.
@@MissJools11😂😂😂🥰🥰🥰💖💖💖Pure Joy XOXO
@@GODDESS1966 My takeaway is that you have an overactive imagination. Just because YOU have a dank musty uninhabitable basement doesnt mean everyone else does. And its sure easy to call someone elses treatment neglectful but i didnt hear in what way...... From the look of the bird it couldnt have lived THAT bad of a life to be in that good of a shape and such a well behaved and social bird.
How sad. I was uoping for a happily forever after ending. Thank you for loving Feather.
It was. She loved and was loved for the rest of her life.
I was hoping the feather would live a long long time with this little girl to take care of her after her mother could no longer do it. It makes me so upset that evil humans take the lives away from innocent animals and torture them like that because that was pure torture I can't even imagine solitary confinement for an innocent being like this so full of love. I am very grateful for these people for loving her and giving her a good loving home where she wasn't in a cage but I have such a hard time watching things like this because now I'm crying and I'm so sad😢
Well I sure wasn't expecting to read she died😭 How sad. She only got 3 years of love. Bastard humans locking her in a freaking damp, dark, musty basement. Not enough suffering could come to them. At least she got 3 years of love n happiness.
RIP Sweet girl.
🙏💔🙏
I'm with you Janice. You said exactly what I wanted to say. I was so sad at the end that she passed away. I don't know why so many humans mistreat beautiful animals. @@janice369
I wouldn't be sad. Feather left the past behind and lived in the moment. People should rehome the pets they no longer are willing or able to care for,not lock them away. Please if anyone has a pet they are neglecting, please don't leave them to wither and die. Find a home where they will be loved or find someone who can help you do that. Pets are a commitment.
Not only did you give Feather a proper life before she ‘flew the coop’, you taught Sofia how to be a loving human to animals. She may only recollect Feather from photos and stories when she herself is an adult, but the love, compassion, joy, empathy, and trust that they shared will positively guide her decisions and actions for the rest of her days. Well done, Mum and Dad❣️❣️
yes, hopefully she'll go Vegan
@@religion-free Whatever 💤💤😴😴
The baby is also special; she seems to instinctively understand how to interact with the parrot..
🤔Naw, babies instinctively grab & pull everything... her parent(s) taught her how to behave properly with Feather, as they should 👍😺👍
Feather got her happily ever after, but poor Sophia has lost her best friend and comforter. Very sweet story and so glad feather got those happy years before the end.
I rescued two beautiful parakeets from the back room of a hot stop and gas store in Las Vegas, they were abandoned by their owner and the store employee was trying to give them away. I knew of a woman whose mentally challenged older son had lost his bird to old age and I gave her family the parakeets...what a God send. They bought them a new cage, toys, food and gave them so much love...her son was SO happy and so were the birds. He named them Snow White and Cinderella, lol... I will never forget them.
Awww, this is so precious. I never would have thought that a parrot would bond with a human baby this way. 🤩
My Macaw is like my 4th child. They love intensely and make deep connections. She is always with me- and also loves my daughter.
My cockatoos love children and babies. They are so gentle with them. Just love being with them.
This was the cutest thing ever. Feather was such a beautiful sweet soul. RIP sweet Feather. The world won't be the same without you. 😞
God bless them all. RIP Feather. 😢
Was rather a sudden news at the end, and no explanations. Sadge.
So sorry to hear Feather had passed. Your family made Feather's last year's joyful. Thank you for believing in her.
I lost it when she pulled the blanket to reveal Feather hiding underneath it to cuddle with Sofia 😂
Sorry to hear poor bird passed . Atleast you gave it a few happy years. Hats off to you for taking feather in and giving it a good home.
Her.
Thank you for showing Feather the loving & tender care she so richly deserved!!! My heart feels very sad that she only had those three years with you because I'm sure they were three of her best years of life!!! God bless you Stephanie & your darling little Sophia❣☀
This video was so great, so heartwarming. And then BAM ... "in loving memory of Feather"
????????
It would be nice to the people who watched this video and felt so touched to be given just a tiny explation of what happened to Feather.
Watching the video, I was telling myself "oh it's great, these birds live a very long time, that little girl will not suffer the pain of loosing it like it could be with dogs that don't live very long.
I was imagining that little girl in the future - at 20 years, still having that wonderfull bird and then ... BAM !
Could we have a minimum information on what happened ?
I hope your little girl has gone through that loss without too much pain.
Thought the same thing. I was so glad she would have Sophie for life since they live so long. I wonder why Feather passed. 😢
I thought the exact same thing. That Sophia would be 40 years old someday and would still have Feather. An explanation would have nice. 😢
I was thinking the same exact things!
Excellent comment.
Most likely some type of illness. Yes these birds are very long lived. 60-70yrs... many outlive their owners, esp if the owner was an adult at the time of acquisition. But birds, as with many "wild" species that haven't undergone decades of selective breeding by humans, are very good at hiding outward signs of serious illness. It's a survival mechanism to help avoid being targeted by predators. As a result, seriously ill birds often aren't taken to a vet until it's way too late.
Sophia has already learned so much about caring for another little being. So glad Stephanie adopted Feather. Good decision for all.
Aww 😢 wasn't expecting the ending. Thank you for giving Feather the best years of her life & teaching your daughter how to love animals
Oh I love Feather and thank you for adopting her. She needed love and wants to give love. the sweetest.
Just when I was loving this video the end had to come. ☹❤🩹 RIP Feather.
I know.
I know I was enjoying this ! It's so sad that poor bird why 😭😭😭😭😭
That’s what I’d like to know as well
This video was adorable and so sad Feather passed.
Thank y'all for giving Feather, a beautiful life filled with love!🫶🏾
You made us fall in love with Feather and her relationship with your daughter. And no you say that Feather has passed away?! 😢
What a lovely bird she was; and what a lovely relationship, too. 🥰🥰❤
Such a beautiful story & bond Feather and Sophia had! So glad that for the last 3 or so years of her life, Feather got to experience what a truely loving, caring and welcoming family is! Going from a neglected bird in someone's basement to Sophia's best friend, baby sitter & guardian I'm sure filled a void in her heart that she needed, wanted & definitely deserved! This one will for sure stick with me & makes you realize how kindness, a little love & compassion
Is what all animals & humans alike really need, want & deserve as part of their lives both to receive and give to others !
Oh Feather, I wish you didn't have to leave so soon, but the last three years I know you felt loved. Thank you Stephanie and Sophia, for sharing this magical but bittersweet time with Feather.🌈💕🕊👍
I had tears of joy and quickly went to sadness. What a sweet story. RIP Sweet baby Feather
What a beautiful story, about a beautiful family, a beautiful bird, a beautiful baby, a beautiful friendship, a beautiful bond, and beautiful memories.
Thank you for loving Feather and giving her a few years of love and kindness before she died. Thank you also for raising your daughter to be sweet, kind and gentle. It's not always easy to raise a baby to be as light handed as your daughter, because they don't know their own strength and still trying to understand their own emotions let alone compassion for others.
Babies can learn to be loving of course, but their idea of "cuddling a cat" for example can still often be a case of the cat getting mangled or strangled, albeit unintentionally. Your daughter was SO incredibly gentle at such a young age, you did a wonderful job of making her aware of other's feelings, and her bond with Feather was both pure and funny.
That poor bird stuck in a basement. Such a shame she did not live long with happiness, but at least she died knowing she was loved, and with every reason to want to live. You are beautiful people. ❤
So sorry about Feather! She lived her best life and her fondest time was with your daughter. She will be deeply missed! 😂❤😊
The world would be a much better place...if EVERYONE had a friend, like Feather.
I’m sorry I couldn’t finish watching this video once I realized Feather passed away. I had birds growing up. Hurts like hell when they have to go.
Aww Feather got to spend her last 3 years loving on a beautiful child 😭❤
She lived a life time and more in those three years! I’m sure she is still watching over your child from the beyond.
Yeah ❤ that bird found a soulmate.
So why has this beautiful Story be so sad at the End . Instead of being happy i´m sitting here and cry like a baby 😩
Same
Same. 😢
Such a sweet story they clearly loved one another. RIP to feather.
Although sad, beautiful feather passed away as part of a wonderful family who absolutely loved her. She knew it because she loved them back. I'm happy she spent 3 years knowing that kind of compassion and care. xxx
I really have never seen a more heartwarming animal video and I've seen many. These two "kids" are just magical. Really heartwarming.
I’m in complete tears! In my mind I had Sophia growing up with Feather since they can live so long. I’m so so sorry for you both. At least Sophia and Feather were able to share that short time. You saved Feather and Feather gave Sophia the gift of unconditional love and dedication from another species. This is so incredibly special.
🌈❤️ Thank you for recognizing the beauty of their connection
@@CuddleBuddiesChannel please can you post more. I hope Sophia is well and happy she is also amazing and one of the cutest. Across the world people that present like Sophia's mom always have these carm and smart happy babies.❤

You little girl is so gentle, loving, kind...a tribute to who you are; thank you.
Thank you so much for giving Feather the life, love, and purpose that she so greatly deserved!!! 😊💖🙏
What a wonderful nanny Feather was for Sophia ❤ She was so gentle and protective - it’s just so sad that her previous owner didn’t give Feather the same kindness.
You gave Feather the best life and after living in a basement, spending time with Sophia in a wonderful and loving home, a joyful experience for all of you. Thank you for giving them both so much love and happiness. 💗
It's a cockatoo, they fly wild here in Australia. They are sweet, naughty, gentle, intelligent creatures, you could get no better companion for your child, they can live to be 70.Im glad that a native Australian bird is being cherished and not abused.❤
RIP Feather. What a wonderful, beautiful bird! So sorry for your loss!
She found her forever person 😢 her soulmate. RIP Feather❤❤
Beautiful story and so touching!❤ RIP Feathers!🙏🏽
So sad that she passed away…she must’ve been pretty old when you got her-parrots live long lives.
Such an adorable video! I was crushed to see that Feather died. 😢 These birds live a long time. What happened??
maybe she was old?
I am curious about that too 😢
@@macca777they normally live 3 or 4 times that age, such a shame
@@coreencasey5109That is a shame. RIP Feather.
God bless that lovely bird! ❤
How sad that Feather passed on but I’m sure she knows she was dearly loved while she was here.
Feather was a beautiful little angel 😇. Glad she was loved on by baby Sofia for those years.
birds live in groups. they are highly social and communal. they live a long time and they are highly intelligent. its too bad she was neglected and isolated so long. i hope the rest of her life is full of celebration!
It says in loving memory at the end 🙂
Thank for sharing this precious video of your daughter and Feather. Thank yiu fir rescuing Feather .She was so loving and special ❤❤
So glad Feather had the perfect dream home before she left this place
3 years of pure love after so many years hidden in the shadows.
So glad Feather got to get a happy ending, however short it was.
Your daughter is a bird whisperer. What an absolutely devine connection they had.
Omg... When I was thinking that this girl will have this beautiful bird for so many years, they said in loving memory... 😞😞😞😞 So sad 🌈
Omg how sad to hear this bird died. Such a lovely bird.
People are so evil! I’m so thankful Feather has you and a new forever friend in your beautiful girl!!! ❤❤❤
So precious, Feather had fallen in love with baby Sophia in her later years past all the misery she suffered to finally feel so loved and alive ❤ 👶🦜
Somehow I knew Feather was gonna die in the end! The story was just too darn sweet to not break me in the end!,,, 😢😢😢
The best thing is that they bonded and could have grown old together.
I was happy & smiling throughout the entire video, until I saw "In Loving Memory of Feather". 😓😓😓

Poor Feather, such a beautiful bird, I only wish he’d had a longer time with his new family. RIP Feather 🙏
This was precious and I know Feather imprinted on Sophia so that they remember each other when they meet in Heaven 80 years from now ❣️🙏🌹
She'll never forget him RIP feather
You gave that beautiful bird love & a family she never had.... and you gave your daughter the greatest gift of friendship. You've set the foundation for Sophia's love & respect for all God's Creation. Thank you!
How could you keep such a beautiful bird alive in a basement for most of its existence, so sad she only had 3 years with you, but thankful she found freedom friendship and love before she passed, fly high pretty bird your free now 😢
Feather is still flying high.❤😊
Sophie got to meet her angel, Feather.
What a special and beautiful girl. Well done, Feather. RIP ❤️🙏🌹
