- Removed my aftermarket black AMG badge and swapped it with the factory chrome one! - Returning the C63 AMG back to its stock look, one piece at a time!

Black badges or chrome badges? Which do you prefer on your car.
As long as they all match - it was a shocker before! But like that you're going back stock with it and getting it all matching! Looking forward to seeing what's next.
@@DistractedNumber I agree, mixed was just too weird. Being white, the chrome seems like the right choice.
I would keep the original, amblems should be replaced within 7 years I believe

More AMG emblem nerd facts:
The pre-facelift W204 C63 was launched in 2007 with the old AMG logo with 2 angled legs.
In 2009 AMG switched to the new logo with one straight leg. However, since the pre-facelift car was originally designed with the old logo, it retained that logo until the arrival of the facelift model in 2011. The facelift (like your car) uses the new AMG logo.
Funny thing is that even on pre-facelift cars produced after the logo change, you might still find some stickers with the new AMG logo, like the oil sticker and the like. Probably because the production lines had already switched.

Much prefer the OEM look. I think you’re correct and standard examples are becoming the exception and will likely be more sought after.
Now this is the question.. leave the black boot spoiler or turn it back to white?
@@CarThought The carbon spoiler is stock- it comes with the "carbon pack" alongside the carbon on the front splitter I thought?
I think you’re 100% right, although I don’t think my car came from the factory with the carbon pack. I’ve now removed the front splitter ‘carbon’ that was just a wrap.. and the spoiler is the same on the boot lid! I could of course change them for carbon ones! But they’d have to be OEM parts.
Chrome looks much better. You did a good job.
I think you'll find you have fitted the new style 'A', the decal you removed was the original AMG style logo
For a pre-facelift car yes. But my car is a facelift, so the logo was updated.

£90 for a genuine one!!! They really are having a laugh. I recently bought the rear diffuser from Merc and it was cheaper than the AMG badge!
Yeah my diffuser wasn’t bad at all! I think I paid around £70.
Watching your video I have since found out that they changed the badge/logo on the facelift, both sides of the A slant on mine one and mine is a 2010 C63, its the same for my door sills
Hey if I’m not mistaken I believe most of the older AMG models have badges with that same type of “A”
I can't understand why manufacturers still use chrome trim anymore, seems so outdated but I suppose they can charge more for shadow/black packs and editions. I understand your reasons for making it as original as possible though.

That “A” is not “wrong”
It’s the earlier styling. Came on the prefacelift c63. They updated the A sometime around 2012

Old style one! The exhaust system between FL and PFL I believe is the same

Which substance did you use to take off the glue?
Any mineral spirit will do it! Just don’t put much on and wash it off as soon as you can after the glue is removed✌️
