19:20: All Mercedes V8 engines have a cross plane crankshaft. Ferrari V8's and Lotus V8's use flat plane and that's why they scream the way they do. The 2014-2023 Ford Mustang GT350 also utilises a flat plane crank which is unusual in the US.

That was a good decision to remove the spacers from the rears. A lot of people think it's a cool thing to do but it changes the load characteristic on the wheel bearing which, as you alluded to, can cause premature bearing failures.

Those black Performace Plus wheels look great on a white car. I just bought a 2012 sedan in Obsidian black. It had those same wheels on it but the combination looked horrid so I bought some aftermarket nice Koya SP03 18" (semi forged) in Silver and that just transformed the car. Everyone who has seen it thinks it was a top choice. The original wheels were not in good condition either so they had to be changed in any case. Cheers from Perth, Western Australia.

Fuel prices are criminal. At first i was shocked you only drove your car 3500 miles, but I kind of get it with the fuel costs...

I have the same issue with my 2011 Jaguar XJ. I was all ready to do it but wasn't sure how it would play with the calipers etc, but Im glad to see this video to give me a bit of extra confidence. Thanks for taking the time. Great result.

I've recently purchased a white golf 2012 2.0 tdi , I love it.

There’s really nothing you need to worry about, except rust. I drove my last one 120K miles (and my current one 20K), and apart from routine maintenance and wear items like tires, oil and filters, brakes, etc. (I did replace the interior and top, which made my first, by then 10yo black on black car like new), the only actual failures were the clutch slave cylinder, twice. Neither of those failures caused me to be stranded, the repairs were inexpensive, and that was IT. Nothing else ever broke in a total of about 160K miles.

The green miata is the best one for me... like a balance between some extra oomph and not overly loud to drown out music playing in the cabin

Respraying entire bumper because of a small scratch is crazy my man. You definitely couldve saved a lot more money on suspension noise issue, power steering fluid etc. I bet you can get it under 500 pounds per year just for servicing. Here, insurance is mental theyre not charging you for your age/driver profile etc but rather purely engine size and power so for example a 2L engine would annually cost 300-400 eur depending on power and year of production but as soon as you get to 3.0L you pay over 1k eur for insurance... That 6.2L engine would probably be around 1k eur just for insurance here.

I appreciate the video and watched it to the end 👍 however if you’re not actually dailying it, you have to factor in the cost of a second car. 3500k over two years doesn’t really give a full ownership experience. Really the video though, great work 👍

I did exactly the same on mine, although I used motip Alu zinc spray, better corrosion protection and same look!

Plug the hose ends into each other to form a hoop. The remaining oil won’t leak if you store it with the rubber plug at the top. 😎

Just a few tips, I wouldn't use an engineering brick as used here as they have very sharp edges like razors and can cut the tyre, they also can shatter easily under pressure causing the car to move suddenly. If you are going to support the car metal to metal it's best to use a piece of dense wood between to help prevent jack or stand jumping out. Finally, the copper grease film is there to stop the alloy wheel 'welding' itself to the disc due to reaction of different types of metal. IE, Corrosion, sometimes even tyre fitters can't remove them when this happens, and it will often!

Another area to check is on the passenger side. Open the glove box and look at the metal behind. I had a mx5 NC and found the scuttle trim leaks and you will find rust on the inside of the car hidden behind the glovebox. It’s easy to check but a scutter to fix as you have to remove the scuttle trim and wiper arms to reseal it. This is a common fault.

Thanks. Why did garages always want to replace things in pairs. I have one brake disc at drivers side front needing replaced. Two garages have said. We only charge in pairs, so two brake discs required, plus two sets of pads??? Same deal with the rear. Rear passenger side needs a new disc. The garage said, 'We can only do it on pairs, so you need 4 new disks and 4 sets of pads. Seriously?? It's a Jaguar XE, R-Sport, 2016 model. Love from Scotland, ❤ X.
