Thank you for sharing this Mark because I have done this. I have had OCD for many years and as God has been helping me work through OCD I am starting to see things I have done. You just do not see as much when your in it. As you work through it more, then you see oh that is what I was doing. I am so glad you have this channel and you understand OCD because when I was diagnosed it was heard of but there was not things like all your talking about out there yet. Also Scrupulosity is something I learned about later. I believe I have that as it is like a religious OCD. So I am 56 and I have learned a lot lately about all I have gone through and deal with with OCD. God has been with me through all of this even when I did not realize it. Your channel is a blessing. Keep doing what your doing. I think the hardest thing was when I would say talk to someone or confide in someone and they would get stressed out or upset with me because no one chooses OCD. So those who do not understand it do not have a understanding of it as someone who is in it. So thankful you for sharing and helping so many. God bless you.

I’ve always had a compulsive desire to memorize as many verses of Scripture as possible (over 10 pages worth 😵‍💫) in order to sound biblically intelligent around others. I judge myself as a Christian at times by how much biblical knowledge I have and always feel the need to impress others with my knowledge. Funny thing is, I do a horrible job of it. I can rarely recall anything while in a conversation with someone else. I now firmly believe that God keeps me from doing so because He knows I’m trying to glorify myself, not Him. ✝️

Oh boy, this one hits home. Thank you. I get into this cycle of doing “good” with reading first thing in the morning. And then, life happens and I don’t read as often.. or when I do, I obsess over the fact that it’s not long enough or not meaningful enough. I feel that somehow God is displeased with how I’m setting aside time with Him, or lack thereof.

Miss, don't get me wrong. I was surprised to see a channel with a checkmark commenting on Mark's video, so I went to check what kind of a channel it was. So allow me to say this without condemnation but as an encouragement - please dress modestly. The Bible teaches us to do so, so as not to provoke anyone to sin and not to tempt anyone. It is out of love for the brother that we should do this.

OCD/SCRUPULOSITY is an awful and often debilitating condition. Hey Mark, I’ve been really struggling with ocd and addiction these last couple years. Every single day I’ve tried to quit smoking weed but I can’t quit unless I have a trigger free day from my ocd theme/fear. Problem is that this fear is something having to do with my health and future health of my family. So it holds very deeply within me. Every single day, Nomatter what I do, where I go, I see a trigger. If I go on social media I see it there, if I go outside I see it there, if I go to the park to clear my mind at that exact moment I will see a trigger there. I’m exhausted and close to giving up, I don’t know what to do. It’s like the universe is conspiring against me Mark, I feel like I’m losing it. You can’t make it up how bad this is and how is it possible to see triggers regarding my theme everywhere. Thanks for everything you do Mark. Appreciate you.

I am thankful to the Lord because I know that he uses you for times of need for me and many others I have been avoiding my Bible for several months reading just a little here and there. However, I started reading it again and of course, some feelings of fear have risen up, and I have even avoided watching this video for several days out of fear even though I knew it had the potential to help me and it has I just want to say thank you.

This was extremely relevant as the new year brings up a lot of talk about daily bible reading, resolutions, etc.! I especially loved your point about being OK with not understanding something 100% and putting it on the shelf. I'm in the OT right now, and there's a lot of that. But you're right, God reveals His insights in His own timing.

Good morning. Pastor‘s wife told me yesterday that my fear and anxiety is a sin. She quoted Philippians 4:6. She told me that the Bible commands us not to fear, and when I do not follow this command, then its sin. I tried. I tried to tell her that it is not a sin to have a mental health issue. Because if having anxiety and fear is a sin, then that means having cancer is sin. I can’t find another church right now and I’m not going to run. I love these people. They are my family and I’m going to try to just chalk this up to her not understanding and being educated about what mental health really is. Her life and how she grew up and the things that she has been exposed to are very different than what I have been exposed to. Just had to share. Maybe God can help us cone to understanding not division.

My son's struggle has lead him to ripping up his bible and throwing anything with scriptures on it out of his sight. Scrupulosity can make you act demented, anything I say about the goodness of God, he comes back immediately with a verse to back up his view of a vengeful God who hates him and has lead him into a trap, to send him to hell. Its terrifying to witness.

He did belong to a house group from church and loved it but sadly ocd/scrupulosity has caused such a mental shift that he refuses to have anything to do with church and his friends there. 2 years of his life were totally involved with church and socializing with friends there now he's been robbed of it. They are still praying for him but don't know the full extent of his breakdown.

Amazing insight and wisdom. So many of your points touched on years’ worth of my life regarding religious scrupulosity and Bible reading.
Also rigid routines. And while the Lord has greatly blessed me through Bible reading, I always had a subconscious fear that I would find God‘s angry voice or condemnation against me in the Bible reading. Even though I have trusted in Christ for my salvation. I still fear condemnation due to the house/church environment I grew up in. My father was the pastor.
    Thank you again so much.

Hello Mark. I have been watching your stuff for the better part of 8 months now and I have benefited greatly from your content. I have to say that hearing from a handful of people with NDE’s (Near Death Experiences) that only 2.6% of people in general make it to heaven and 7.9% of all Christians has me seriously concerned. Although I am trying not to panic. It causes me to get to a place of fear and striving which also is not a way into the kingdom. Also, just disregarding that idea is not a safe bet either. Loving others is key 🔑 and being sold out for him is also 🔑. But how do you know if you are loving others enough or if you are sold out enough and what if you live with an alcoholic who is a narcissist and is emotionally neglectful at least and at times verbally abrasive and abusive at worst, but you can’t afford to leave (financially) or are sure that some of it’s not in your own head and you’re the one being selfish and too sensitive? I’ve been praying for him my whole married life of 33 years and he seemingly hasn’t budged, but in some ways has gotten worse. I sense that the Lord is coming back soon and we don’t have much time to get it right. How could I straighten it out and trust that God has me when there is so much pressure to get it right based on that statistic? Also I have been watching Chris Garcia out of Connecticut (I think) and it is really enriching my connection and intimacy with the Lord.

    • @Dementei
      @Dementei 17 дней назад +4

I'm sorry you're going through these things, that sounds like a lot going on. I don't normally comment but I want to tell you to not be concerned, logically speaking there is no way anyone could ever know the percentage of people going to Heaven and they are also visions most likely caused by DMT being released in the brain during an NDE, the equivalent of a drug trip and should be taken with a grain of salt. Overall, these minute details can distract from your goals that are fruitful of the Spirit, ones of (self) compassion, patience, love. If you are already influenced by the Holy Spirit to be called to live a fruitful life away from sin, then you are already chosen and elected, your salvation has already been stamped for approval. Take solace in that. As for your marriage, I dare not say a word as no one could tell you the best option, but I will say.. you deserve a life of joy as we are called to, not one of abuse.

once someone truly believes, they’re saved permanently, and God gives them the Holy Spirit as a downpayment. You can know you’re saved if you believe that Jesus died and rose, you accepted Him as Savior and Lord, then your life should begin to start changing and your desires too. And yes it takes time. Just continue to pray and read your bible.

My man i had just a major blowout for the same exact reason. I spent weeks of denying my flesh reading the Bible and praying constantly, yet all i got out of it was mental torment and obsessive thinking how much i hate life and how the bible is really an living nightmare. I can endure those feelings for awhile but when they stay for days i just rage-quit and do what i please... Im done feeling bad about it. If im supposed to somehow survive those "attacks" then i can say to God with all honesty you haven't given me the power to do so. So im absolutely done feeling sorry for myself. There's nothing in this life that compares to trying to survive that. No amount if praying and reading the bible helps, actually it can make it even worse. I've been through this so many times over and over again that i don't think it even affects anything. Those Christian motivational videos always promise that if you just hold on there's something amazing just around the corner... If you believe those dumb videos life becomes really hellish, since you survive those attacks and nothing amazing happens, yet when you fail you'll think you missed out something. Maybe you don't even get what im saying but just a little bit of what's on my mind.

1.) When you feel guilty when cussing at God, is that Toxic Guilt or Christian guilt or Holy Spirit guilt?
2.) When you don't want to deny Jesus even if you will be shot because you will feel guilty denying Jesus, is that Toxic guilt or Christian guilt?
3.) When you are not comfortable with sin is that toxic guilt or Christian guilt?
4.) When you don't want to backslide because of guilt feeling, is that Toxic Guilt or Christian guilt?
5.) When you don't want to lie even if it causes you to something bad, is that Toxic Guilt or Christian guilt or Holy Spirit Guilt?
If your Christianity is conscience driven, does that mean you're a False Convert?
    2nd part:
1.) Is conviction when you feel uneasy when commiting sin?
2.) Is conviction when you hurt people and then felt bad and then felt uneasy until you apologize to that person?
3.) Is conviction when you cheat in school or lie and then feeling uneasy?
4.) Is conviction when you commit sin and then feel the urge to apologize to God?
5.) Can False Converts feel guilty or bothered when commitin sin?
6.) Also, does feeling guilty on sin neccesarily means that you are "True Christians"?
    Am I a False convert?

Yaa There is a question, who wrote the Bible? Who gave the authority to write the Bible? Please give your answer from the Bible only. Actually I like Christianity, I just have a few questions.

Not by the WILL OF MAN but through Holy men of God …. BY THE HOLY SPIRIT

The bible is the inspired word of God. Hebrews 1:1-2 says, “Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son [Jesus Christ].” God has spoken.
The phrase “Thus says the Lord” occurs over four hundred times in the Old Testament, as the writers put forward in their writings that God has spoken. The phrase “God said” occurs over six hundred times in the Old Testament. So, human writers are delivering what God wants said.
The way the New Testament writers express this claim is to say that the human writers of the Bible were “inspired,” that these writings are “God-breathed,” or that the people who wrote them were “carried along by the Spirit.” For example, the apostle Paul says in 2 Timothy 3:16, “All Scripture [that is, for him at that time, all the Old Testament books of the Bible] is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction.” The apostle Peter says in 2 Peter 1:21, “No prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.”
The Bible was written by approximately 40 men of diverse backgrounds over the course of 1500 years. Isaiah was a prophet, Ezra was a priest, Matthew was a tax-collector, John was a fisherman, Paul was a tentmaker, Moses was a shepherd, Luke was a physician. They all proclaim the same one true God, and the same one way of salvation-Jesus Christ (John 14:6; Acts 4:12).
Few of the books of the Bible specifically name their author. Here are the books of the Bible along with the name of who is believed by biblical scholars to be the author, along with the approximate date of authorship:
Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy = Moses - 1400 B.C.
