W.B Yeats (1865-1939)
Irish poet and dramatist, one of the foremost figures of 20th century literature
Pillar of both Irish and British literary establishments
In 1923 he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature
One of the most important figures in Modern time
Influenced his contemporaries as well as successors
By Nature he was a dreamer, a thinker, who fell under the spell of the folk-lore and the superstitions of the Irish peasantry.

Yeats was a realistic poet though his early poetry was not realistic
