I think Jamaica"s national team needs to do better, the powers that be need to make sure that some of these big name athletes are available for selection. It was very disappointing.
Unfortunately there's some amount of division & individualisms (camps). No real nationalism, a bit of selfishness. Very much like Jamaica's football. Maurice Wilson's involvement & selection attitude reminds me of a Speid & a Butler's...I say nothing more!
Given the importance of the World Relays the NEW LEADERSHIP of the JAAA MUST make it MANDATORY for athletes to participate in this event. We don't have the luxury of the talent pool like the US.
I don't think the top 3 needed to go, I think they should train other athletes to run the relays, at top level. The team need to practice more, like other countries. I think this is their down falls not enough practice. Until Jamaica gets it right nothing will change.
Other countries had their top athletes or some of them there just to make sure they had a chance to qualify for the Olympics so I don't know what you are talking about. Non of our top athletes were there.
I don't think you & most Jamaicans realize that, the World Relays is thmost realiable place to qualify for the Olympics.There will ONLY be 16 teams participating at the Olympics, therefore, if Jamaica does not qualify at the World Relays in the top 14 teams, 2 spots will be left over where they can quality, why take that risk ?. It is as if the JAAA, top athletes & their coaches doesn't realize this! Yet again, absolutely, no leadership!
They do know, but it’s not a mindset of country in this context, but a mindset of individualism and selfishness in this club systems, often. In times like these, I prefer the centralized system of many nations. We’re developing a system of ego from our current system, and it doesn’t bode well for us in relays. Bigup to the athletes that did show up to compete, and specifically Bigups to Sandrey Davidson for that heart of a champion.
I don’t think it’s necessary. The younger athletes have the capability and they need the exposure and experience. They did better & held their own on day two, my opinion is that they underestimated the rest of the World because as juniors they were so dominant.
This team was picked out of GCF . Blank when Jamaica was on top at this stage the top athletes would have ran on many of relays by now. Is it that the sponsors forbid them his . The Michael frater teams racers MVP has three members of the world youth record team and they haven’t run a relay together. The clubs and coaches are sabotaging Jamaica. Last night I was so upset that I couldn’t eat my dinner . When our 4-400 don’t make it I take it personal. We the people need to know the person that picked this team. To hold there foot to the fire
Maybe just maybe athletes noted their availability and were never selected for various meets. Maybe they think that they still wont be selected so they prepare for trials instead. Just saying, look at the world champs team and secrets that unfolded.
Greg, this is just speculation. I believe since it's an Olympic year, and with trials right around the corner, none of the top athletes want to take a chance and risk injury.
I remember a problem in the team last year over selection bcuz a some money 4 club issue. Maybe its the same problem here or the head has another agenda
The poor quality team selections is most dissapointing...the women 4x100 terrible....look how many other women could be selected....obviously the JTTA put no importance to this event
Dina and Daryll wasn't there but they had other good athletes to represent to win and secure 4 place for Olympics. America secure all places. Jamaica manage to secure one. Sad!!

Rusheen has indicated in interviews that he is better at starting.Why isn't the selectors looking at putting athletes where they are strongest to get optimum performance. Part of the problem is management. JAAA too much profiling and little forward thinking. I am watching and following this sport from my high school days and everything now is personalities and politics of every kind.
Shortsighted way of looking at the things Obviously other countries are taking it seriously look at how excited the Netherlands were with their star athlete. I am sure over time as the event evolves and we see constant excellent performance, things will change in terms of how the sports goods companies will respond. Look at how some of the field events have in last 10yrs generate more interest.
If jamaica don't qualify in the history heats how will they make it to the finals,keeping the top athletes home was a bad decision cause no heat qualification,no Olympic qualification either so six of one half of the other

The coach is not choosing the right people for the event.
He need to choose who can deliver.

I can't understand why jamaica coaching staff always bringing Rusheed Mcdonald to run I never see him over take an opponent in any race.

Whenever I see McDonald on a leg of our 400m team I know we are heading for a lost.
The US best will be determined at Trials. Their 2nd string is very good

It seems like this current JAAA administration haven't learn anything from our sub-par performance in this event from previous world championships.

The 4×100 team for female was a mess . NOT ONE GOOD FEMALE RUNNERS IN THE 100 METER WAS THERE .

Our big horses are going into their last or next to last Olys. Priority is individual medals. I respect that.@@pennylou4270
