    I believe the backing on a traditional action back Has warp and weft yarns. Great job in another great video!

    That's awesome that it was still stuck even after ripping the seam tape off!

    People, do your homework on this particular cpt before you go install it. We've had nothing but problems here with this cpt getting loose and wrinkled. The manufacturer says you half to double row your tackstrip in order for it to hold the stretch. Plus when you stretch it make sure you stretch it good and tight with power stretcher and push it onto the tackstrip pins really good.

      Thank you for your input Shawn , When it first came out and somewhere about four or six years ago it was a really stiff carpet and I did double strip it then however in the past couple years I have not had any problems with it, I don’t know if they changed something or what but I just don’t seem as stiff as it used to

      @@FloorsbySouthernboys ya we were told that if we didn't double tackstrip they wouldn't warranty the cost of having to restretch it if it wrinkled

      @@shawnmoore5621 wow Never got that bad with me, when it first came out I just got a hold of a rep to find out if there was any thing specific that needed to be done differently and the install and that’s what I was told to double strip it

      I double stripped all ways and used power stretcher on a job I did 3 years ago. Got called back and all walls seemed like carpet grew at least half an inch and buckling and rippling. Did flooring for 20+ years and never happened before because I always use power stretcher. Only with this expensive crap

    Tried some that type of backing but as walkoff. The back is very easy to cut, you need to prime the floor and keep it going the same direction or it will be noticeable. It pretty thick because of the padding

    We have had nothing but problems with it here in colorado ! That backing doesnt seem to allow it to stretch the way im used to width and length ! im using tri tac strip but still a pain to hook ! it turns into a blob after the first cut !! Our shaw sales rep says its installer friendly LOL I challenged him to come out to 1 of our jobs and show us how its done LOL

      As a person who purchased this, also nothing but problems. Sounds good, but is a Terrible idea! The vacuuming is difficult and it's hard to push the vacuum!! Suctions down onto carpet and try pushing the vacuum... horrible idea!! The carpet is ruined fast, too. :( Best of luck... don't buy this.

    What is the reason for that plastic coating?

    • @FloorsbySouthernboys
      @FloorsbySouthernboys  Год назад

      It will stop spills and such from getting to the pad which makes it clean up easier. Almost always been carpet, cleaners clean carpet. It will be beautiful for about two or three weeks and then the same stains will reappear. This is because the stain is in the carpet cushion, and it works its way back through the carpet. If it never reaches the cushion, then once they clean the carpet, it is clean and will not reappear

    What is the purpose of Shaw putting a extra layer of plastic on the material it seams like just something else to fail.

    • @FloorsbySouthernboys
      @FloorsbySouthernboys  2 года назад +2

      It makes your carpet clean a lot better because stains do not get in the carpet pad and they can be extracted completely through cleaning

    Our worst purchase ever is the plastic backed carpet!! The vacuum suction cups down and makes it so annoying and difficult.. We knew immediately it would be replaced and it was not cheap. Don't push this stuff. crying over here. ;) I think the suction makes the carpet wear terribly - short life. After two years of suffering with this, we picked out normal carpet. There is a reason they haven't really changed it up. Best wishes.

      When it first come out, the manufactures recommended double stripping, but now it really isn’t too hard from my experience to get the stuff to stick on a single strip. As long as you stretch it tight it will hold.
