  • In this video I'm resttetching a small hallway going towards a tile edge.
While relatively easy there are some particular parts of this people should know. One is you have to release the carpet on the sides as well as the end so that the carpet can move as a unit towards the tack strip.
Next you add some latex adhesive in the tile edge tack strip gap so that when it's stretched it'll not only hold to the tack strip and by the crimped in carpet but it will also have that glue. Without the glue the part between the tack strip and the tile the crimped area sometimes starts to flip out a little bit. Latex is only used against tile in a opening not along walls.
Cutting is extremely careful here. Cut too much and it won't hold properly too little you might see the backing. Then press in by hand. Don't ever try and hammer it or pry it in it could actually crack a tile with too much pressure.
Of course this video is for information purposes and really isn't a how to it's more for carpet professionals to get a little bit better or to show the homeowner the process.
If you're in the Temecula area you can call me and I'd be happy to do this for you here at Hilbrands Carpet Care and our website is www.hilbrandsc...
    thanks, John.
