If you want only spell slots and not the 4th level spells, then 6/6 is a lot better. You get the same amount of spell slots (or you should), and you get the paladin saving throw aura.

I am surprised that you suggested 5/7 instead of 6/6. The same number of spell slots, except you're trading a mediocre level 4 spell (greater invis) for Charisma to all saving throws.
It can be done that way indeed, it's just that I find battles are usually over before enemies get to do anything, and I often try to maximize Initiative on almost all my party members for powerful Alpha Strikes.
@cRPGBro It's worth noting that the bonus applies to saving throws made in dialogue checks as well, not just for combat. Very valuable to have for some interactions.
Check out builds for a Bardadin if you like the look of this. Advantage of a Sorcerer is the metamagic and it's sorta nullified in this as you're mainly melee. Bards are full casters and so get the same spell progression as Sorcerer, but College of Swords Bard works better as a melee/magic caster as you get flourish abilities which support melee better. It could be better to also go two weapon fighting and this means you get to smite on an offhand attack too. If you pick savage attacks as a feat this boosts your damage. You also get extra attack as a College of Swords Bard and so you can just go 2 paladin and 10 bard. Either way, Paladin can be fairly versatile as a multiclass build
I found a fun build that can do extreme bursts and sustained dps as well. Gloomstalker lv5/Assassin lv3/paladin lv4. You get the spellslots for smites from your ranger. Free criticals on surprised enemies, extra actions when combat starts. With the right gear like callous glow ring and other damage riders you can use psionic overload as a bonus action (if you did the quest at the creche) to activate damage riders and then go ballistic with a sneak attack critical and smite. If you didn't get the ability to use mindflayer powers as a bonus action, then use your dread ambusher to make your burst instead. This is just the base build, you can optimize it like crazy. The build comes together at lv10, so at the start of act 3, the 2 remaining levels of paladin are mostly there for the extra feat.

That being said, I couldn't help notice that Palalock seems to have certain key advantages over this multiclass, like using Charisma for damage and three attacks per round. From a min-max perspective, which would you recommend?
Armor of agythis reminds me of a fun combo i found on table top where you use clockwork soul's ability that lets you reduce damage taken to keep those temp HP as long as possible so you can deal as much "spike" damage as possible. Worth keeping that in mind when using gear that reduces melee damage, assuming you didn't blow all your slots on smites like a true paladin!

When they are talking about extra spell slots they are referring to the fact that sorcerers have a limited number a spells they can cast for each level of spells. Multiclassing into sorc gives their paladin the ability to use the slots the sorc uses for spells for their smite instead, hence why they can smite everything just about. It one hit KOs, so there is really no need for any of the spells the sorc unlocks. you are just using those extra spell slots to cast smite more often is all. no need to mess with your spell book or anything, just keep casting smite until you cannot anymore, then rest and repeat.
I’m kinda new but is there any downside to dipping a level into fighter for the action surge? I don’t see it in almost any melee build vids and idk if I’m misunderstanding something? It seems crazy strong for one level
n00bz and l33t gamers both steamroll the entire game with basically everything, because it's extremely easy. Don't get me wrong, I really like BG3, it has great gameplay and story, it's one of the few games that come out from time to time and make AAA gaming think about RPGs again since they've mostly moved to AA/indie sphere after mid 2000s. However, as a successor to original BG, Infinity Engine games, and old cRPGs in general, it really is too easy, there's almost no opportunity cost, no ability to seriously fuck up your build or decisions, you can even savescum in dialogue, and most fights never feel dangerous. I'd like Larian to look for a moment at the current cRPG indie/AA market, where harder and/or more complex games are back in fashion (vide Colony Ship, Underrail, Pathfinder, Kingdom Come Deliverance, and such). BG3 is great, I've finished it a few times already, but that mainstreamification can work to its detriment :(

To which you would probably answer "then don't use the strongest builds" which is fair, and then I can say why don't you do the same in bg3? And please. KCD is not harder than BG3 by any means. You can become seriously OP very soon with either learning the parry strikes (can't recall the exact name) or going with archery, not to mention alchemy. Bg3 honor mode is a lot harder than KCD, you could easily overpower dozens of guards with just a bow and a bit of practice bruh
Would you say there is a tipping point where Savage Attacker becomes better than Great Weapon Master if you can only pick one? Smites add a lot of dices to get the most out of Savage Attacker.
I went with 7 oathbreaker and the rest gonna be sorc for my first honour mode run, i am in the middle of act2, and didn't have a close call yet (maxed out charisma, strength at 10 with the Oblodra potion). Im rocking the reverberation/radiating orb combo gear set, and enemies are either debuffed to hell and back, or knocked prone and taking thunder damage. Its like a cheat code for honour mode, and the shield infinite sorcery point replenishment trick still works, takes a lot of time tho after a long rest, which is a bit annoying, since the shield only restores a lvl1 spell slot.
Once you cast it your characters is now "concentrating" on it. If you cast another concentration skill, get hit and fail a saving throw to keep it up, or get inflicted with a status effect like silence that force stops casting it will break your concentration and the spell will end.
nice to see a fresh build, one question, what are also good ways to multiclass out of paladin , beside 10 - 2 bard & Paladin or the classic paladin + warlock combo , i see that the sorcs spellslots are just for more smites but its kinda hard that this is the only reason :D what could be more useable or more variation, another martial class beside swords bard maybe ?
Sorcadin is one of the og multiclass from table top. Just off the top of my head, 5 levels in sorcerer get you haste and counterspell. Im sure theres more benefits. Also, being able to twin cast haste with a sorcadin is quite strong (assuming you can maintain concentration).

Palalock vs Sorcadin what is better? Palalock has more attacks and only needs Charisma which allows for a nice Aura of Hate Sorcadin has more and higher Spellslots. And acces to twinned Haste
Personally say College of Swords Bardadin is the best choice out of the lot. Warlock spell slots aren't all that compatible working with other magic class spellslots and although you're more 'attribute friendly' you're missing out on the highest spell slots for maximum smite damage. Sorcerers best feature is metamagic and you're missing out using a mainly melee class. If you want to twin haste then it suggests you're playing in a party and so just use a Sorc as another character and have them twin haste. College of Swords Bard is a full caster and the flourish abilities work better as a melee/magic build. You only need 2 paladin/10 bard (for highest spell slots) as College of Swords gets extra attack or could go 2 pal/2 fighter/8 bard if you wanted action surge from fighter. College of Swords can be preferable to maybe go two weapon fighting and then you get smites on offhand attack too. Go savage attacks as a feat with this as will keep damage higher. If you prefer 2 handed weapons then just stick with GWM, but benefit of dex college of swords means you're also effective at range and can go dual hand crossbows if you go two weapon fighting

For something to be considered 'best' I'd say this should work across all difficulties and without the stacking of extra attack, Warlock poses more issues. You're better off going two levels of fighter for action surge or possibly 3 levels of rogue for extra bonus attack if you're going the dual wield route

Evocation wizlock is stronger, yes empowered evocation stacks with agonizing blast. You can add an additional 17 force damage to eldritch blast projectiles using potent robe, agonizing blast and empowered evocation. Just max out cha and int. Damage range is 54 - 84 and that just using potent robe, empowered evocation and agonizing blast. Thats not counting things like psionic overload, lightning charges, phalar aluve, hex... and so many items.
It's from weapons, Jorgoral's Greatsword can be found in Act 1 and can hit enemies in a line, also Greastwords by default have a Cleave that can hit multiple enemies, including Balduran's Giantslayer later!

If you go first 8 lvls as an archer, it comes online faster.

Warlock/Paladin third attack is removed in honor mode, but anything under that would be good I'd say

I like this one even more. And with paladin 2/ sword bard 10, you have access to banishing smite (ranged)
