I made an inciter using your 2h ranged throwing axe skald guide as a foundation of sorts for a mercenary. I took petrifying strike on the skald. Using your aeon sohei guide for my main I destroyed Playful Darkness optional wiping out his buffs and and ac from the -2 dex each hit. He survived a round only to be a fraction of himself. Such a good sub class!

Of course it's not meant to tank, but that's what Reach is for! But for Unfair you might prefer to go Trickster and grab all the Critical Boosting feats starting from level 13 onwards, the same for the rest of your party.

hey CRPGbro. Thank you again for an awesome guide. Do you think this skald build is good enough for a unfair run or would you recommend something else?
Great build. I was put off Inciter by the description at first, seemed like the "Evil Skald", but I can see it as a freedom inciting Azata now. Will definitely be respecing my base Skald Azata to this now. One question, why not take Seize the Moment? It appears on a lot of your older builds and I took it on my base Skald with Life-Bonding Friendship to great effect. Combined with Outflank that's two AoO for every critical. I'm using your Seelah build with Scimitars for 25% crit chance so her mount effectively gets 1 free attack for every 2 of hers.
@@cRPGBro Ah ok. Won't be taking that again then. 😅 Another question for you, how well would this build with with Duel Rapiers? I'm halfway through Act3 so have benched Camillia (still got her, for now...) and my Skald worships Cayden Cailean so it seems thematic. Plus my next play through will be some sort of Angel divine gish so I'll likely go 2H there as well. The only caution I would give to dispelling strike is that it breaks your own CC. I once gave dispelling strike to my loremaster/arcane trickster and if I tried stacking sirocco and mass icy prison, dispelling sneak attack caused sirocco to break mass icy prison a very high proportion of the time. Depending on your reliance on CC, having a dispel that cannot be conveniently turned off isn't always desirable.
You gotta try sable company marine/hunter. Id recommend divine hound for the judgments. However sacred would get you domains and domain spells.. so there is an argument to be made. But even though hound would normally be dog/wolf, a griffon is waaaay better
Add on the title,tank.. that f... Insult passive is a aggro magnet lol had monsters aggro my Cavalier and another party member dog when i charge to only get Seeleah ( made her Inciter ) get hammered down REALLY quick lol, when i forget to pull back like on your "how to play" part of the vid. Giving me idea to dip one level of this class on any tank i build 🤨 ( if fails to land, they go after the caster, low charisma tank and good to go lol )
I don't know what I am doing wrong but my mercinary inciters lethal stance buff does not apply to party. I turn accept rage on, all their attacks show inspiring rage bonus to both attack and damage but there is no lethal stance bonus in the combat log! I went for trickster path btw.
Because half the builds are skald builds. People were hoping for something actually interesting. I for one was really hoping for a magic deceiver vid since the spell combos are really interesting.

@@marky6456 Magic deceiver has a very limited spellbook. Essentially, you will be combining AOE + laughter/stun or AOE + polymorph against those who are immune to stun/laughter.
The extra sneak attack and rogue abilities sharing is nice, but are you giving up anything from the standard skald? The base skald has free haste effect at level 20, anything else of value lost?
Hi there and thanks! Yep I did BG3 on Honor with many builds. I have a Complete Honor + Honor Party Guide here: ruclips.net/video/3jUgD2uRhfE/видео.html
@@cRPGBro Very true, but I think it’s a level 12+ ability anyway. By then you’re able to handle it and even abuse it. Edit: Also, thanks for always making these videos. You’re doing great work.
@@cRPGBro It seems nowadays enemies have changed they behavior. Few rounds and they completely ignore your tank in most fights. So I think basic skald is a little bit safer bet.
Any time you won't be feat starved and you're playing a Charisma Caster Kindred raised half elf is is almost always the best race in my opinion. it let's you get a plus 4 to charisma with no negative stats. Personally I prefer high Charisma bard/skald since you can get all the buffs on your spell list and still have enough spell slots to pick up all the best CC on their list. But yeah being feat starved especially early sucks, just started a new unfair playthrough and getting through the shield maze with out precise shot alone made me wish I ran human lol.
Yeah, the Human extra Feat benefit is really strong early! It's true that Kindred Half Elf is amazing and quite unique since I can't recall any other Race granting such a high bonus to stats.
I'm currently running a build like this but using bard. I like using Aivu as a mount. I plan on equipping the Zaoris's Beauty helm on her so I can give out more teamwork feats but Idk if that works yet.
Just Put mercenaries in your Party for playing different classes. For me it was boring playing Seelah the 4th time as Paladin, so i added a merc as skald.
Im playing on ps5 and bought a merc skald last night. At level 2 I had to pick a skald talent. Every build or guide I look up doesnt mention this at level 2, whats the deal?
I just gave mine a tower shield. Tower shield+ sorcerous reflex displacement lets anyone tank. And everything tries to attack it because of the debuff. Tank buffer and healer in one guy.
I know this isnt related but what mythic path would you pair with the blade bound magus? Trickster is the first choice but hoping something else works more
Now that shatter defenses is working as written, it's not nearly as good. Is it still worth taking on my companions? Is there something else that's a better use of feats?
Does anyone know how "Hit the Nerve" is supposed to function? I thought it would let my other party members cast spells while under the effect of inspired rage, but it just doesn't. They also still lose the 1 AC from the song. Is it supposed to just allow the skald himself to cast spells, while the allies are still limited?
Because of baldurs gate 3 build video i subscribed to you ! Is this game worth buying including all the dlc and will i enjoy like i enjoy baldur gate 3 very much
Thank you! I would highly recommend Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous with all DLC if you like cRPGs. It's not exactly the same as BG3 (for example graphics are not as good and there's no full voice acting) howeve there's a a LOT more content like build options, classes, feats, spells etc. I also prefer the party members & the story, especially the Mythic Paths (main character can become Lich, Angel, Demon etc.).
I do not recommend to pick Arcane Spirit. While the concept might sound cool, the DC on enemies you need to beat... is unreal. For example, at the end of act 2 you will need 93 DC (!) to beat with Arcane Spirit. Perception on enemies is incredibly high in Wotr.
How much would quality of this build change if played in full RTWP instead of turn-based? I intend to go RTWP Core Last Azlanti after I finish my current unfair run and I'm already looking for some inspiration and leaning towards doing something based on Azata.
Yes, because Skald is still a tremendously useful addition to almost any party, especially as there's no story party member Skald! And well, Inciter is the best Skald.
Yes, the feats are exactly the same as well, you can replace the Trickster specific ones for something else if your MC goes another Mythic. You'll have Reach from early so AC boosting feats don't matter. You can pick Extra Rage Power: Animal Fury, Combat Reflexes, Weapon Focus, even Dazzling Display + Shatter Defenses. Great Cleave & Improved Cleaving Finish as well, depending on what you prefer.
Can you confirm the bug with mythic inspiration : with this ability I can no longuer cast spells with my teammates.. :( I am trying to solve this with toybox but :( Call to violence cloak doesnt work either.
@cRPGBro can you ask Owlcat when they will publish the new Update on console? Especially on PS5? I wanna start my first unfair run with a drunken master tank. My Party should contain mercs as Paladin, Cleric, Skald, Brownfur and Witch. All with pets of course.
I feel like Azata is the new "go to" melee mythic path. After nerfs to improved critical you gain meager 2 range to your critical threat with trickster path which doesn't feel that good anymore, I guess you still have your critical multiplier bonus which is nice but trickster no longer feels "overpowered", while having a very weak and cringy quest line. Plus, you get an awesome talking dragon as an Azata. Just wished Azata had something for dex based melee builds, incredible might feels worthless since it only scales with STR.
I don't think you should go for Power Attack at level 1 tbh. If you are melee then Dodge + Crane Style is a must, and if you are ranged then Precise Shot is mandatory. I mean UNLESS you are perma-enlarged (you cannot, especially in the early game) then fighting defensively is essential for Core +. Sure if you are playing Story then ignore everything I wrote here completely useless BUT for Unfair (which I assume most of us are here for) then no melee should be running without fighting defensively. Sure if you hire an Inciter merc then yeah go for Power Attack BUT the MC NEEDS to fight defensively 100% of the times, as the big and dangerous dudes WILL be aiming for YOU first. Anti-player bias is INSANE in this game then WILL skip your frontline and go directly for you whenever possible trust me I have seen it so many times, especially the boss of the Shield Maze who always seems to rush for you immediately in the first turn if she wins initiative (80% of times on Unfair).
The thing is stacking Reach means you can safely attack behind your allies/tanks. Which is why I recommend going for Glaives early, you also have size spells like Enlarge Person/Legendary Proportions and of course the Lunge feat, all of which stacks! You should also have tanks ahead of party formation, so they reach the enemy first to engage them, which is easy with pets because they tend to have higher speed.
I understand where you're coming from but disagree. While it is true that the enemy npcs have a homing beacon on the KC, you can still position your party to keep them safe. Using the right formation helps a lot, and if you ever get caught with your pants down you can hit "T" to switch to RTwP for a moment to reorganize your lineup to make sure your positioning is on point. It would also require either a 1 level dip into monk, or an additional feat to get Imp unarmed strike which is a 3 feat tax to get extra AC for a character that doesn't intend to be a tank. Nothing wrong with that playstyle if that is how you like to build your KC, but to say it is a must is incorrect.
Could you try making some builds where they might be a little more rp focused instead of min max style. I love your vids and watched a lot of them but when you focus so much on being as strong as possible they end up getting repetitive, 90% of your melee builds are either trickster mythic path or a build with a pet
Love your vids, this is a sad one for me however, as this killed the game for me. When this released, I was struggling against those damn arcane golems that ragdoll your party, and this was the new class class that came out, and I absolutely HATE it's concept. So it's a bard, that's also a barbarian, that's also a paladin, that does every single thing those guys do but 100x better. Just stack 9 million buffs and autoattack. Genius. Cos the one thing people were hungry for was retri paladin gameplay from WoW. This class is like the DM designed it for his new GF. yuck

This is such a fun concept. :) Are you going to make a magic deceiver build in the future? Class seems so fun yet so hard to build right.
Yep, it should come eventually!
Nice !
Thanks 😁
How do you have a dog pet for your skald at minute 25:38 if skalds cannot have companion pets?!
Why so many dislikes on this video? Did new viewers forget that cRPG Bro is a master of Pathfinder: WotR builds?
Because half the builds are skald builds. People were hoping for something actually interesting. I for one was really hoping for a magic deceiver vid since the spell combos are really interesting.
@@marky6456We get videos for free, why complaining if you are not interested? I'm not gonna dislike Elden Ring videos because I'm not interested in that game. To each their own i guess
@@greggreg2458 They have every right to dislike the video. The dislikes will show him that his audience isn't happy with the content he's putting out.
Hahaha because many of his viewers are here for pathfinder and the content slowed down significantly 😂 but he is still my go to guy for any build
@@marky6456 Magic deceiver has a very limited spellbook. Essentially, you will be combining AOE + laughter/stun or AOE + polymorph against those who are immune to stun/laughter.
Can echolocation replace blindsight feat?
The extra sneak attack and rogue abilities sharing is nice, but are you giving up anything from the standard skald? The base skald has free haste effect at level 20, anything else of value lost?
Stil hoping for the Bloodseeker; I think it isn't very good so....I hope.
It... isn't 😅
But I'll see what I can do, especially with Lich and the unique summon Bloodseeker has!
How do you deal with the AOE radius aggroing enemies early thanks to insult? Just have the skald stand further back in the party lineup?
Love the build as always! 2 questions for you, did you end up beating Hounor mode BG3? What team comp did you use if so?
Hi there and thanks!
Yep I did BG3 on Honor with many builds.
I have a Complete Honor + Honor Party Guide here: ruclips.net/video/3jUgD2uRhfE/видео.html
Does Come and Get Me share with skald song? That might be fun with a melee heavy build.
I believe so, later it has better uses as your party will have much higher defenses, but early it's very dangerous!
@@cRPGBro Very true, but I think it’s a level 12+ ability anyway. By then you’re able to handle it and even abuse it.
Edit: Also, thanks for always making these videos. You’re doing great work.
How long does it last HASTE with this build?
Can This build be used for mercenaries and not MC?
I've heard inciter capstone is bugged, is this still true?
Question will there be a new ultimate party build video or is the old one still the one you will use?
Build Ember 3Witch/17Skald, maybe should respec to Inciter. Was a bit afraid of Insult ability, don't want to focus attacks on Ember.
If Ember stays at range, it shouldn't matter much.
As other allies will most likely engage the enemy first.
Would a brown fur arcanist be a good companion in a party with this build?
I'm currently running a build like this but using bard. I like using Aivu as a mount. I plan on equipping the Zaoris's Beauty helm on her so I can give out more teamwork feats but Idk if that works yet.
Bard is fun too, especially with the new feat that adds Sonic damage to all allies' attacks!
@CrpgBestBro so after all who's better now? Skald or Inciter?
Inciter, since it's Skald but with more useful abilities added on top!
@@cRPGBro Ok thanks
i haven't play a skald before.. damn there's too many builds that i want to play.
Trickster is the first choice but hoping something else works more
Lich can work just fine, but Trickster is ideal.
Now that shatter defenses is working as written, it's not nearly as good. Is it still worth taking on my companions? Is there something else that's a better use of feats?
Does anyone know why it wouldn't be a good idea to pick Opportunist as a skald/rogue talent?
Hey CrpgBro can you make Weretouched build plsss?
Maybe i will try azata finally
It's a fun path with lots of unique story content!
Não consigo acessar Combat Trick no nivel 9 aparece acizentado e diz que já foi selecionado 😭
Another question, does the Skalds Puonce ability work on Shifters claws?
Should work with whatever weapon you have equipped, including any natural weapons.
Yes, it will work for whatever weapon, well, besides Ranged.
I believe it was supposed to be fixed in the last patch but if not, this is a known bug. It should not be impacting AC or preventing spellcasting.
It was mostly for the early game, but later Extend/Heighten is definitely better.
How much would quality of this build change if played in full RTWP instead of turn-based? I intend to go RTWP Core Last Azlanti after I finish my current unfair run and I'm already looking for some inspiration and leaning towards doing something based on Azata.
It's actually a lot better on RTWP!
@@cRPGBro thx for answer
Can you do a swarm ghat walks build ?
Are all the feat selections optimal for a high charisma character?
Thanks, mate!
Didnt they change the animal aspect spells to not trigger master shapeshifter?
Gonna try this with a drunken monk mercenary
How does this build compare to Brown Fur?
Inciter Skald is better as you can provide more party wide, but of course you can have both on party.
Do you recommend inciter skald for non main character skalds (mercenary)
Yes, because Skald is still a tremendously useful addition to almost any party, especially as there's no story party member Skald!
And well, Inciter is the best Skald.
i'd love if you did call of the wild mod kingmaker builds
Summoner is very fun!
New best pet guide? Is wolf/dog still best?
Yep, they're even better now since latest big patch increase their power: ruclips.net/video/po5AmJMgrow/видео.html
Is there a way to adapt this so a companion could be the skald?
Yes, the feats are exactly the same as well, you can replace the Trickster specific ones for something else if your MC goes another Mythic.
You'll have Reach from early so AC boosting feats don't matter.
You can pick Extra Rage Power: Animal Fury, Combat Reflexes, Weapon Focus, even Dazzling Display + Shatter Defenses.
Great Cleave & Improved Cleaving Finish as well, depending on what you prefer.
@@cRPGBro awesome! Thank you very much, your builds are hands down the best out there
I always make my companions a skald, I don't find it for me to use it as a MC. Great build though!
Thanks! It's great for MC too since it can be quite powerful damage wise.
Can you confirm the bug with mythic inspiration : with this ability I can no longuer cast spells with my teammates.. :(
I am trying to solve this with toybox but :(
Call to violence cloak doesnt work either.
Ok solved with toybox 👍
wait for dual curse oracle build or tortured crusader
Dual Cursed Oracle with horse mount is great for early game on unfair
This works as a hireling?
Yep, with same feat selection.
@@cRPGBro thank you. Might have to use a skald 1st time.
I noticed if you want to use this as a companion you get 5 skill points less at character creation :(
Can u make this work with a mercenary?
Yep, the feat selection is the same.
you only miss the first 2 legendary levels I guess.
My skald can't learn the finale spells, despite having the dlc... any idea what might cause that?
It's bugged, at level 20 it's capstone ability doesn't work, you're better off relevelling into any other skald at 20
@cRPGBro can you ask Owlcat when they will publish the new Update on console? Especially on PS5? I wanna start my first unfair run with a drunken master tank. My Party should contain mercs as Paladin, Cleric, Skald, Brownfur and Witch. All with pets of course.
DLC?
With reach wepon + enlarge person/legendary proportions + mirror images you dont need AC at all.
This class is like the DM designed it for his new GF. yuck
