1st Place Lorcana Challenge (Joshua Paultre) Deck List - dreamborn.ink/decks/N1gAElDxTsOrOCZFcqgF The deck used in the video is not the exact same as Josh's. The only reason I brought up my old Amber Amethyst Snow White list is to contrast that the goal of the decks are similar; using Amber's very unique ability to recur things from the discard. Josh's build is obviously 100x better and his own original build. When you see the gameplay, just know that I have *some* experience trying to use this engine in the past :)
Just proof that copying decks from RUclipsrs is not the way 😂 if the challenge taught me anything, it’s to build my own deck. Going based off the “meta” was a bad move.
It depends what its going against, but Kuzco and Rabbit is MVP vs Be Prepared. If they tap out to clear the board and you draw 2 guaranteed Characters= always have gas. Special shoutout to Piglet - Pooh Pirate Captain, Rapunzel - Gifted with Healing and Cinderella - Ballroom Sensation who was in both Lille and Atlanta 1st place decks.
I truely believe this is amazing, winning the biggest tournament with a deck nobody ever really saw anywhere before… wow I would be interested if he was the only person playing this, or if it was like some kind of hidden secret tec a bigger group was cooking for a long time in the shadows haha. Congrats to that guy, I think that’s what makes Lorcana so amazing, the game is far from being solved !
Incredible deck even if it’s not exact… super glad to see a new deck doing so well. I’m trying to think of how to beat it… I have no idea lol. Really interesting that there’s no Shifts, and maybe slightly less interesting that there’s no Locations or Items. Obvious that you want to keep these numbers down with Mufasa. It’s really a card self-replacement deck at heart which makes it difficult to combat.
In one of local tournaments someone brought an evasive red green deck with item removal. They won a stitch card with - $40 deck while all these people are showing with all their meta decks (me too lol!)
That was a quick turnaround video after the last tier list 😂 Nobody could have predicted that! I think you have a good eye for rogue decks, this isn’t the first time you explored decks that became more meta
I don’t think anyone would’ve caught onto this being that good. To be fair, the Perdita lines are way more viable. My tier list didn’t even rate AA beyond aggro, so major props to Josh for the insane deck. Very much a deserved win, showing incredible deck building skills and tech options! I stand by AA aggro being C tier but this ink combo may be B or A tier.
I’m gonna do an Ummm, actually 🤓 and clear up that Atlanta was not the first Lorcana Challenge, Lille was with also 2000+ players. Was won by a Steelsong piloted by Frank Karsten
Such an oddball list for the winner, Cinderella but no songs. I get the point is to exert with the one godmother, shift into the other and then challenge but it seems like such an unwieldy 3 card combo. Guess the point of the deck is to just challenge everything through exertion and mim, with a mufasa creature shell. Honestly I’m surprised it won, but props to it for winning I guess. At least the next challenge will hopefully give some better current meta insight since these are results from a now dead meta.
So the obvious question is now...how does this deck fair in Set 4 now that we have a prototype to build off of? I feel like both the 4 and 3 drop Shadows become a must, but not sure if thats enough to help combat Emerald /Steel? I think this build is favored against Blue/Red and might be okay against Steel/Sapphire.
shame the title isn't correct as it wasn't the 1st ever challenge but hey that's a small detail. Lille was the 1st ever challenge and was won with amber steel piglet

💯 there’s zero chance anybody knows the “meta” mere days/weeks after a new set drops.
@@criticalpurrs9722 but the main event at the Challenges did not use set 4 this weekend so they’ve literally had three months to determine the meta.
@@criticalpurrs9722set 4 wasn't allowed at tourney so knew what the meta was.

I mean these kind of decks tend to do well if for nothing else it catches people off guard and they don't know how to play around them
@@sdc3536 yeah, but doing fine and catching people off guard, or winning a major tournament with it are two different kind of things in my opinion

I would not have believed this deck won 24 hours ago, piglet 4 lyfe

murple
The only tournament winning deck that has no relevance in today's meta.
This put the best of the best players in a different league

This deck is so cool! Was kind of getting tired of the meta

The real first challenge was in France … 😇
Not "the" first, but "one of the" first.
You're quick! XD
I have Josh's exact list on dreamborne minus 1 card where my version has elsa in for 1 card out posted May 4th lol
This isn't exactly the deck, he was running 4x Pascal.
Yeah, I have that noted in the Dreamborn list, and I think I mention it a few times throughout the video.
He stated that in the beginning
Cinderella was in there purely low cost character count
And for Fairy trigger
@@LaChazzz yes
