I have to ask, because I have seen it with Magic Players before and possibly it is just me...but what is with the CONSTANT shuffling of cards in their hands? Is it a nerve thing? Is it 'we don't know what to do with our hands' thing? Or am I just the old man who sits patiently and waits for the next player to go? lol!
i use to do this at tournaments too, it keeps my mind going and helps against nervousness. it also has a psychological effect on some players youre facing because it annoys them/irritates them and gets their mind away from the game and therefore away from the right plays.
@@FlyAwayTooHighToday that was one of my thoughts I had. It makes sense. Try to keep the other player off their game. I think I'm more of the Poker mindset. I just glare, lol!
I do this a lot Heres why i PERSONALLY do it: 1. It feels nice. Like the cards when they get shuffled just *hit* like a cold drink on a hot day 2. Stimming. I have to be doin something with my hands or else i get distracted either by looking around or dosing off. Players take forever in every card game 3. Not a reason why but more of a “it has this effect on people so why not” but it tilts some players. To me thats an advantage. Again its not WHY i do it but its a nice little bonus
I don’t like how they don’t particularly talk to eachother, the dude on the right seems like someone I wouldn’t want to play against, taking the game too seriously and not even having fun with it.
This is competitive play... At a tournament, you banter with your opponent and they don't respond or call a judge over to admonish you for slow-playing 100% rather play other "casuals" in a tournament, have fun time talking, and only get 2 matches done versus watching these people burn inner rage when you topdeck luckily against their $500 deck while you are there to have fun. They recover when they handshake-intentional draw into top 8 anyhow
@@MrCleaved that’s how I feel, I’ve done my fair share of tournament card games and I would at least call my cards as I played them or ask to look at their card or discard rather than just take it
The guy on the right was interviewed before the match and said he hadn’t played Lorcana in 2 months and didn’t even want to go to the event. He only went because his gf convinced him. And after he lost and was on stage with the other top 8, he was one of the only ones not smiling. Kinda glad we didn’t get a champ like that.
Red purple and not running alladin is just different. This is the one type of matchup where alladin could own the game and slow down Matthew’s choices.
Why did they draw their 7 cards before presenting their decks to be shuffled? I thought you had to present your deck to be shuffled before drawing your starting hand
Look at you getting that Pre Release day Video!!! Not to shabby rip man. Mojos look not to bad! Here comes the many Views and Sippin N Rippin hitting 100 subs+!! #ryanburrowes fan club!
I was all for it but the bo3 is not something I think Lorcana needs. If you need multiple games to prove that luck was your inevitable loss condition then you’re missing the point. Adaptation within the first game is the true test of skill. Once you hit top 64 everyone’s deck is optimized to the point that bricking is near impossible especially with a 14 card potential dig in the opening hand.
@@SpeciLorcana the top cut was but not the event the entire event being 2 game makes it to where 2 skilled players against each other will get less points then a good player vs a bad player. This makes it to where you want to face bad players and dodge skilled players because you get less points. It is a dog shit system
@@LunchabelzI think u need to understand how tournament work bad player will not advance in tournament with that point system so the more win u get the more chance u will get skilled player
Joshua seems like such a nice guy and a great player, well deserved 👏
I never saw something similar to his decklist all last set. Super impressive
What a match!!!
Hi!!!! I recently subscribed to you! :)
@@Ivanitis oh, thank you!!!
51:02 matthews eye just goes bananas 😮 and it will haunt me
He had been doing that the whole matchup. I'm not sure how old Matthew is but all of the eye gestures is super unnecessary
44:49 honestly would react the same way like Matthew did after banishing mufasa

I feel like it's normal for opponents not to talk much during a tournament but I agree, dude on the right doesn't seem like they're having fun.
@@TophGames I feel empathy towards him when it comes to his gf but all the gestures he was making is something I would've called him out on.

The way mulligan works in Lorcana is you draw 7, put any back on the bottom, draw back to 7, then shuffle.

It must suck being a known Yugioh player and ppl watching u to see if u cheat lol
It just sucks that with the 2 game format it takes the skill out of the game
This was a best of three?
Replaces skill with what? Dumb luck?

Why does he keep playing with his ink face up??? Thats against the rules
It is not. Lorcana rules stated you may leave your ink this turn face up until the end of the turn if you’d like.
Rules got updated! This is now legal as a method of tracking whether you've inked this turn. Play your ink face up, flip it at the end of turn.
