This action film is the best I've seen in many years, everything is so perfect, everything is clear, each scene has a sequence that connects with the previous action, the camera angles and the focus on the characters... this is something I won't return to to see so soon unfortunately. Thank you George Miller.
I never watched the original Mad Max films until recently. You can tell he always he had THIS in his head he just didn't have the budget or even the technological capability to bring it to fruition. Happy he was able to get at least some of it out due to special effects technology, mixing digital with film, live action with CGI all that stuff. To the point where you can sort of make any shot you want. It's not perfect. It's not quite seamless. But it's exhilarating and just like he imagined.
I agree, we should then have had a sequel where the dwarf Bommie Knocker guy kills the Octoboss and takes control of the Citadel making Furiosa his mistress.
Such a shame this didn’t do well in the box office. As someone who who is in the Entertainment arts Industry I can easily say this and fury road are the best two movies I have ever seen. From costume\vehicle design, concept, camera shots, intensity and performance it’s absolute perfection in my eyes. I personally don’t understand how some people can watch this movie and not think it’s good. To each their own I guess. I think if you’re someone that understands film and or art you can’t help but love this.

Turbines are simpler then reciprocating internal combustion engines. There should be more of them in Mad Max. Turbines are self air cooled, not needing water. Just lubricant oil and diesel for gas generator stage. Australia has lots of coal and iron ore. Steam locomotives, steam trucks, steam turbines could keep human civilization at 19th and early 20th Century level.

@elevatedgame3016 They can't manufacture new radiators. A scaled radiator is scrap.Urine is concentrated mineral water. Most of minerals in urine are uric acid and salt. Those form crystals real fast and corrode metal like acid. Like humans, motor vehicles can get severe gout. Both then are unable to move.

Compared to the first movie, this is Shyamalan-levels of bad action directing. Every cut shows a single action while the rest of the characters wait their turn. A blown radiator, sure, but that's steam coming out of that vent, you don't just kneel down in that: you burn your skin off. The guy that grabs the dynamite is very concerned about saving the rig, but then commits suicide when he could just throw the dyno and survive. It's not how they "witness", there has to be glory involved. When the car explodes (three sticks of dynamite would make the car disappear, but that's beside the point) the two bad guys on the hood just lay down and die. The car barely even touches them they just... die. The driver is not fased by a car exploding on top of him even if there is only a thin piece of glass between it and him. Furiosa-lady puts the cap back on the radiator, which is nice gesture but that cap was blown off by steam pressure; the mount is torn off, it's never going back on there. Also: the missing cap is not the problem, the thing needs water. Also: it does not need piss, it needs water. Piss just cloggs and corrodes the pipes. Suddenly they all have guns? Why were they messing about with spears if they have guns? Fan-boy grabs furiosa from rthe window of a moving truck... how? Can he fly sideways? And where are the other good guys, did nobody see him coming? How can fly-boy do this, but not, you know, kill her when she was on the hood? Ah, motorcycles pull a glider into the air.... No, that just pulls the motorcyles on their butts. The glider takes off and drops dynamite. Why not just throw it from the bike? That's away easier. And wyh throw it in front of the truck and not on it? The glider has a machine gun? Again: Why the F did they not mount that on a car and just pepper the cab of that truck? Oh, now it has napalm? Do the writers not know about this thing called gravity? Gliders have a *very* limited capacity for cargo and they just added a few hundred pounds of weaponty. Remember: two *motorcycles* just pulled that thing into the air... And Also: if you have napalm... throw it from a car onto the truck. Furiosa to the rescue! Lucky for her that the glider decided to do another attack run 10 feet above the truck. Also lucky for her that the NAPALM and DYNAMITE that the glider was carrying just happened to completely miss her as she just stands there looking cool. Ohnoes! More guns! The good guys are so lucky that the bad guys keel waiting their turn to attack. Where was this mult-gun flying machine back when the guys on motorbikes where fighting gthe good guys standing on the truck? This thing would have simply popped them all off of there in a few seconds. AK47 caliber weapons shoot clean through that hatch, that poor little guy is very much dead. And so is furiosa, who again is magically not hit by the metric f-ton of debris that comes flying off the octopuss. RIP the motorcycles that just kept driving in the line of fire for some reason. Well wouldn't you know it, the little dude actually is dead. That's *one* semi-realistic thing in this scene.
I disagree completly. the action in this movie is so deliberatly different from fury road and george and his wife did a fantastic job editing this film. every shot has a purpose and feels so detailed. every single situation is a set up for something that happens later - therefore every action happening in this movie makes sense. what you try to do here is trying to make stuff realistic. if that is ur point yea, if thats not ur type of thing ok. but the overall staging, editing and blocking of these scenes are the best I have seen so far this decade. (and before you start with the cgi: yes, i agree that the cgi is very rough in this movie!)
My favorite part is that literally none of the guns actually fire. Nobody has recoil, and there is no slide or ejection CGI. literally just actors pointing at things.
You realise that the wheeled vehicle stunts are real and not cgi right? Those bikes are really going under the wheels of the truck. The warboys are riding that swinging ladder at 70km/hr between cab and trailer with only one hand and one foot and no safety line. That car is really flipping up onto the roof of the truck and later when the driver swerves it plunges off the roof, spears into the ground and nearly tore the mechanical arm off the truck for real. But go aheadm impress us with your detailed knowledge and critique...
