I believe it has something to do with cultural upbringing from a historical standpoint if you take into account that in the early days in traditional Japan they wrote poetry more often than american forefathers, but even though Americans still wrote poetry they were still literally with their phrases even when using metaphors. Take somebody creative and they'll make a rap out of the star spangled banner but the key phrases from those verses are literally the war and what happened watching the flag still stand. There was whole lecture about this somewhere I watched in high school about it but it was so long ago 😅 I'm just ranting off of blurry memories

Yes!! I’ve notice this as a song writter. When I listen to songs in Japanese, they don’t really have to worry about constanant breaking up the flow of rhythm. Everything will land on a vowel, except ん( a closed mouth N sound.)
