    💡 Powerful Light (helps video quality): amzn.to/2QOTFcw

    🔵 Tripod for camera: amzn.to/2U1O8Ri
    🔵 Light Stand: amzn.to/3aawnoM
    This light stand is kinda not sturdy enough because the light and soft box are so large; the whole thing can tip over easily. But it's what I use! 😆 Or you can perhaps find another light stand that is rated to hold more weight. Or just put something heavy (like sandbags) onto the bottom to lower the center of gravity.

    While the performance was good, I agree that anyone who has been practising card magic for a little while will know the sleights used here. It therefore confuses me why he thought that this would fool them? Basic sleights and off the shelf kit, no matter how cleanly performed, are still things that the masters, P & T are going to know.

    • @albertlwj
      @albertlwj 4 года назад

      some magicians go on there not to aim to fool them, but aiming to entertain and show how clean they are.
      the thing that annoyed me with this act was, how clumsy his sleight of hands were. he spends more time preparing to do a sleight of hand, than actually doing it.

      To experience racism of sny kind is an ordeal for the sufferer and needs to be dealt with.

    • @bricelory9534
      @bricelory9534 4 года назад

      @@johnkean6852 but you are comfortable with "Aussie." Which I agree is a perfectly legitimate slang for Australian.
      Not all nicknames are charged with the same energy as racial epithets and in fact painting with such a broad brush can minimize the destructive power of ones that are historically or racially charged.
      In your scenario, the New Zealander will be bullied period because of the bullies not because of the term kiwi. They will be made to be felt an outsider because they are being excluded not because they have a different label. I work with people living in New Zealand, and they seem more likely to use the term kiwi than anyone else.
      That being said, if someone from New Zealand asked me to not use it because they found it offensive, I'd have no problem stopping and apologizing for inadvertently offending them. I'd also ask why it was offensive to them so I can learn if there is more history to it than I know.
      But I will not simply be offended by the term for the sake of others who, in my experience to date, have not expressed any offense at the term. It dillutes the ability to see the terms that really are offensive to those being called it. It is good to not want to offend people, but over-sensitivity leading to censoring inoffensive things isn't helpful and leads to an atmosphere of not wanting to speak into any topic at all for fear of causing offense, which destroys dialog and debate - necessary for such a connected world as ours.
      Also, I do want to recognize that the US sensitivity to PC sensibilities is not universally shared even in cultures very similar to ours. I am not saying that PC is bad because of it, but it is helpful to realize it is not a universally assumed value and has a lot of cultural bias behind it. For reference I do work with a global organization, so I interact personally with people from literally all over the world (not just swagging, I say this because I have experience with the different sensitivities to PC things).

    I don't read the fable as positive for the daughter. Reverse the sexes in the story, and it would be more insightful. One of my favorite books ever (Jane Eyre) is a painful story about being plain. It's a rare theme in books (more often the ugly duckling turns out to be a beautiful princess all along). I know beautiful people have troubles with hangers on but, like you said, "It's the easier curse to bear" ... Okay, you didn't put it that way .. ** should rewind the video ** you know what I'm referring to. "But let's be honest, it's the easier struggle, am I right?" ... there, I was diligent :) 13:41

    It was very interesting that both the act and the fable had to deal with what is on the inside of a person. Good random selection!
    As far as the magic, I am not a magician, so I cannot say I know how he did the illusions, however, as a layperson, I did not find the act very exciting. I liked his "inner voice", and although the tricks were pretty good, they did not "wow" me. I know how hard it is to get in front of a crowd and perform, but I think for this show the magic needs a step up.

    This wasn't my favorite magic performance. You can tell his self doubt (his real one, not the amazeballs "voice" in his act) is still too loud. I was almost bored with it. I applaud him though and hope he keeps doing more!
    You literally made me giggle out loud several times on this video. I really enjoy your personality with the reactions, and the aesop's fables!
