Hiking in the Desert - Sometimes is like a box of Chocolates! Sandia foothills hike, New Mexico

Hiking in the Foothills of the Sandias, hoping to find some blooming wildflowers and cactus! It has been a really wet couple of months, much more than normal here. The cactus should be blooming soon as well as all the wildflowers. I am predicting a very colorful May!!!

Do they have any cactus back there? I don't remember seeing them until we moved out west. Anyhow, we should be having a great bloom coming up this year with all the rain. Thanks for watching!

My guess is this was Saturday. 2 days ago. The peak got snow. We were driving up but turned around at the SnowPlay area. Visited yesterday - roads were clear and the trees were GORGEOUS all covered with a dusting of snow. But it was still very cold! Was a beautiful drive up. ❤

Weather here has been so crazy this year! It was hitting the upper 70s-low 80s for awhile then that crazy storm blew in with rain all day Saturday here in town. Supposed to be right back to 80s tomorrow! Spring in the desert - just like a box of chocolates!!!! LOL
