I'm a sound designer for a film company that specializes in aerial drone cinematography and that intro sequence is so real. For any aspiring filmmakers out there, be aware that if you're gunna spend the cash for drone footage, match the budget for ADR and sound design. There's been so many new directors that are caught off guard that the production sound is useless for a drone shot. If anything, keep it to establishing shots and B roll.
great episode that I loved but what spurred me leaving a comment is this: cori, when you said the Song of the Shieldwall, my heart stopped. my mother and her then roommate wrote that song together many years ago -- she the music and her roommate the words if i recall -- and we have found people the world over who have learned and loved it. at one time in my deviant art days we found a photo of the lyrics painted on a wall of a base in Iraq, I believe. my mother is a huge fan of LoadingReadyRun and I know when I show her that it will surprise her but absolutely make her happy to know of another person who that song has reached.
Ten years ago I hit shuffle on a friend's iPod and that song got permanently lodged in my brain. I can understand why someone would paint the words on a wall.
Man, my favourite post-big-event recovery is just taking a day and sitting in the middle of a mall or something with a good coffee shop and reading a book. it's the best thing
I have pu-erh that we brought back from southern China. It's a fermented tea that's really pleasant. I use it as a pick-me-up when I'm sick. A useful feature is that you can steep the same leaves many times (30-40 if you want).
I love the new name for the lunch room - the Bill Watt Memorial Eatatorium was my favorite. Is that going to be the permanent name, or only when someone is eating something gross?
Kinda. That was the Hover, which shoots 4K *unstabilized* (and that probably looks like garbage). What you see in the episode is footage from *two drones*. During the titles, we are using the Hover at 1080. The "noisy Crapshots" were shot on a DJI Mavic, which is amazing.
in defense of Ezio, he has one glove because it's for swordfigthing protection, it's quite common to use one glove to have second hand open to grab etc :P
of course you cannot forget that the "correct" direction of toilet paper is dependent upon whether or not you have a cat. If you not then over, if yes then under or you'll be going through a roll every day or two
Poor Lightning! One of the most underrated Final Fantasy characters, now reduced to wearing an aluminum foil trash bag. Soon she'll be eating expired apple soy bricks. =[
Some Star Trek episodes with odd alien customs cement themselves for good reasons, like "Darmok". And then there's "Move Along Home." I love Deep Space Nine, but boy do I hate "Move Along Home."
I have to say, I'm stuck between liking Adam and James for the punch line but I think all them were funny because of absurdity of them but also because all them seem in flavor for the characters they play.
1:08:56 Penelope's nods of "hello microphone, nice to meet you" just might be the cutest darn thing I've ever seen.

+Wesley Clinton For real. There's a video that makes fun of using drones for wedding videography, and it's *so funny*

Oh god, Beej, Ian, let me just tell you: That was BEAUTIFUL. I haven't laughed so hard in any of the previous LRL episodes.
That was a most beautiful Jazz Kazoo *sheds tears* :D
The drone intro thing was just... Ah... Perfection.
Dear god, I'm crying with laughter at the drone intro. I never expected to get that close of a look at Cam's crotch.
Man, my favourite post-big-event recovery is just taking a day and sitting in the middle of a mall or something with a good coffee shop and reading a book. it's the best thing
Beej and Ian did an amazing job on that song!!!!
Yay Adam in the stinger!
Also, James being the boss as usual.
Dad James is best James. Molly's and Adam's punchlines also just killed me XD
This was one of the best LRLs yet! Sad I missed it live.
That was some super impressive musical improv. When I did improv in college, musical improv is where I drew the line.
James and Adams punchlines at the end were pretty good. We need to get Adam on lrl or crossing the streams or AFK more often. We need more Adam!
please do more of The Benefit Concert!
Honestly, the crapshot with Banana!Cori running full bore at the drone was hilarious. I don't know why, it just cracked me up.
Adam had the best punchline
That outro... 11/10. The 2 guest stars had the best punchlines.
James' punchline at the end slayed me. Ian's was a very strong start though.
The punchline of the first opening thing was SO GOOD
Beej and Ian made Art
project sub-ocean is great, though i do wish you would spotlight some bloodborne armours...
Cam's bit in the stinger was fantastic.
Beej and Ian just killing it in their song.
I didn't even notice your shoes, I was way too distracted by the jogger in the background. ;)
Beej might want to add the proviso, "No expired foods" to his segment.
Aww Bill Watt Memorial Food Zone?
:,( BibleThump
Is there a place I can find the lovely music you use?
I have pu-erh that we brought back from southern China. It's a fermented tea that's really pleasant. I use it as a pick-me-up when I'm sick. A useful feature is that you can steep the same leaves many times (30-40 if you want).
More Benefit Concerts! The World needs you help!
I'm also not from Calontir and the Song of the Shield Wall is quite impressive when sung by a large group.
I lost it at "new banana who dis" and didn't find it again for the next 1 hour, 38 minutes, and 54 seconds.
the lyrics of Tim Minchin's "so efing rock" fit to the intro nicely.
Beej and Ian should go on On The Spot! sometime.
Project sub ocean is probably my favorite segment now ^^
Best part 1:08:56 ! "What's that?" "That is the microphone. That is where all the sound goes"... "Oh", "Yeah"...
1:16:00 correction... the toilet paper song might top it ;-)
When will your AFK streams get uploaded to your other channel?
Not to disregard the rest of these shows [it’s great], but I *LOVE* the bringers and stingers.
Best opening ever
I got a fever and the only prescription is more one word song that still inexplicably rhymes
I love the crew dancing like Peanuts characters at 1:25:20!
I love the new name for the lunch room - the Bill Watt Memorial Eatatorium was my favorite. Is that going to be the permanent name, or only when someone is eating something gross?
I can confirm that 5 years and one remoonbasing later the kitchen/eatatorium is still called “The Bill Watt Memorial Food Zone”
"This tastes like apple ass".
What's your basis for comparison here? We need to know. For science.
Ernst Jan Plugge the smell of apple+the smell or a truck stop bathroom?
You know the bottom of an apple? have you ever tongued it? that's the ass.
loved the concert part, especially kathleen's bit on ugly children
Loved project subocean
Oh, it's a royalty free piece you found online? I just kinda assumed Bradley made it.
Stepped away from the laptop for a moment. Came back to 1:24:56.
The hell? :D
I was thinking at first the phone call would be from the person letting you know a drone strike was on the way.
I’m ... kinda not wrong?
Oh god the toilet paper song.
Actually perfect!
Now that they've hammered out the lyrics, they need to head to the studio and record a proper version, without the awkward pauses.
alex, on a scale from 1-10. how much do you dislike reversed saw teeth?
They're a great idea for storage, which is where I assume the hacksaw was.
then what was that talk about reverse sword edge.
It's an anime trope. Alex was making a joke about it.
That is what is known as a "Joke"
a different "wrong" way to use a saw is something i can imagine tinkerers doing and i didn't know about the trope.
thanks for rubbing it in my face.
Cold open: 10/10.
Well, since you are asking, Drs. LRR, I will cast a vote for Ian's punchline. Kathleen gets honorable mention.
Bill's looking down and laughing. At least it's not marmite.
Can someone tell me the name of that game with the trucks, because i need to see that whole video.
Ethan McGraw It's called Clustertruck
doomsuicune thanks
Its called Clustertruck. It was a bonus stream from last week
Edit: I guess 2 weeks ago is more accurate. Its from the 5th
SIC TRANSIT GLORIA CAMERON!
Shout out to the WoW Companion App on that phone!
I love the "A Bananaphone"
... is extant.
wait, that tiny thing is 4k?
Kinda. That was the Hover, which shoots 4K *unstabilized* (and that probably looks like garbage). What you see in the episode is footage from *two drones*. During the titles, we are using the Hover at 1080. The "noisy Crapshots" were shot on a DJI Mavic, which is amazing.
loadingreadyrun Where did you get the Mavic? My boyfriend has been trying to find one. They're awesome !
I love how in sub ocean Graham looks like he has no idea whats going on
in defense of Ezio, he has one glove because it's for swordfigthing protection, it's quite common to use one glove to have second hand open to grab etc :P
Beej has a surprisingly good voice. :o
heyy13 Thank you!
I don't think short sleeves are practical for concealing wrist blades
Perfect for concealing bicep blades though, so... you win some you lose some.
Phillip Bradbury but those are so unwieldy you run a serious risk of taking your friends forearm off when you are trying to get their attention
You should have gone with a fully humanoid member wearing the Organization XIII cloak for project sub-ocean instead of Mickey.
of course you cannot forget that the "correct" direction of toilet paper is dependent upon whether or not you have a cat. If you not then over, if yes then under or you'll be going through a roll every day or two
The stinger fucking killed me.
[votes for Beej, Heather, and James's punchlines]
Poor Lightning! One of the most underrated Final Fantasy characters, now reduced to wearing an aluminum foil trash bag. Soon she'll be eating expired apple soy bricks. =[
was there an actual vote at the end?
No.
So do your special guests have like things they work on or are they just people you kidnapped?
"Apple Ass" - Beej, Graham and Alex, 2017
Some Star Trek episodes with odd alien customs cement themselves for good reasons, like "Darmok". And then there's "Move Along Home." I love Deep Space Nine, but boy do I hate "Move Along Home."
Would be interested in building a server. :)
mickey actually only wears that outfit for a short period of the game. the rest of the game he had this red weird jacket-shirt thing.
Oh my god my sides
feed the world and Beej
The Apple-ass Strikes Back.
I had a legit spit take at the stinger
"Why aM I HERE?!"
it took you far to long to realise that you have these in the wild. no knife there. break it in hand xD
How can I feed the world with bees.
Can we get the more of the improve song these made me laugh so hard mostly the toilet paper song
I have to say I much preferred Ezio's outfit in Brotherhood, but that's just me
also as an unwitting health goth at one point I DIED when they got to mickey and they called it out .
I also made one of those damn kingdom Hearts coats and they really nailed their assessment. I'm still ruefully fond of it? very ruefully.
Not gonna lie, I was a little disappointed not to have siegward/meyer show up in project subocean
I may have to vote for the James punchline.
"New banana, who dis?"
James punch line for sure
Beej and Ian I know your pain.
Toilet paper is crucial for civilization.
I have to say, I'm stuck between liking Adam and James for the punch line but I think all them were funny because of absurdity of them but also because all them seem in flavor for the characters they play.
Well, something happened...right away.
Poor cam
I WANT OBAMA ON LRL
Had to dislike when they claimed fullers were used to bleed better. That's just promoting a myth.
