Thanks for sharing. I inherited one from my late father and I believe it is a slightly earlier version of the Ranger 50. It's all orange and was very dirty, but after a good clean and service it ran beautifully. The freshly sharpened chain cut a decent load of firewood which consisted of very dry Australian hardwood - not a problem it's a Husky.
Fabulous Rancher resurrection James, l was rooting for you on the recoil winding wincing syndrome, ( l thought it was only me ), Your Rancher cuts beautifully and sounds Sweet, well done. Love your channel James, always sending positive vibes ❤, also your saw skills rock, looking forward to more great stuff 😊 !!!
nice work on getting her running again! Man, there's nothing worse, than messing with a recoil spring. I was working on an old weedeater one time, and this was before i knew anything about the coil springs, and that sucker went swoosh and completely unwound itself and flung all over the place.
Nice One James We had newish Kawasaki hedge trimmer the recoil on that was such a pain it got left for years🤣 think we got a complete assembly in the end Good getting that saw running Thanks again
Just a good reliable old firewood saw. Very high quality saws. Definitely better made than modern 'farm and ranch' clamshell saws. Nothing fantastic to run performance wise but not underpowered either.
Trying to do something very similar with a rip off rancher 50 I have had to replace all the fuel lines as they have dried up and feul wasn't getting into the enguine it's called a pirama 580
Aspen may not go stale but the carb diaphragms still go very hard and when left it does perish the rubbers in the real world but when they sell it you they say it doesn't
salut jai une question car j'en ai une qui est en parfait état avec bar et chaine neuve ,pour le prix ca vaut quoi a peu près aujourd'hui une Rancher 50 de la meme année ?
How not to fix chainsaws 😂😂 Buy an air compressor. Use it to clean your saws and bar oilers out. Buy some gloves so you don’t cut your fingers on the bar. Only an Englishman can re-invent the wheel…..

Standard 50 dont look that if we come to 1987..
Great video James! I can't stand working on recoil springs. Always great seeing an old saw be brought back to life!
You and me both, thanks Garrett 👍🏼
Great video! I remember tearing one of those down to the bare crankshaft, I want to say in 1985, tons of parts in that model.
Yeah, I was please there was not a lot wrong with it 😂
A Husqvarna 50 was my first saw great video.

It’s scary stuff 😂😂 thank you for your support 🤩
The threaded carb tool is probably to pull the limiters out of epa/emissions carbs
I have the 2019 455 Rancher, and although it's not the best at anything, it's great at everything!
That is a great way to put it 😂 powerful saw but heavy for its size 👍🏼
@@MachineryNation. I actually love the weight, let the saw do the work, that's what I bought it for!
It’ll run
I love your optimism 😂😂
one of the first saws i ever serviced ☺👌
Awesome, thank you Simon 👍🏼

We didn't see the McCulloch run mate
Unfortunately the pain had a really bad reaction so I need to start again on that saw 😭😭
@@MachineryNation oh that's shit mate
@@wadeholden7380 yeah, really disappointing. I will sort it at some point. It’s my own fault for not doing it properly.
@@MachineryNation bugger you made me wanna buy one I found a McCulloch Mac 120 top handle saw I wanna buy

Interesting, I’ve been selling it for 8 years and never had an issue like that.
hemostates, the tool docs use. maybe
Hi. Are the husqvarna 55 cylinder and crankshaft compatible with the husqvarna 50 rancher?
