0:54 Didn't notice this subtle joke the first time, but I love the irony of Mymy saying "but animation takes so long" being one of the most over-animated scenes in the entire show.
There's a sadness to Coco's scary moment when you really think about. Coco was adopted into Maya's family in the absence of her own and trys her hardest to be the big sister to Maya and Mymy. She tries to involve Maya in activites, keep her motivated, helping with the report, and in the last part she kept stopping Mymy from teasing Maya too much. Yes, Coco oversteps Maya's boundaries, but she's trying her best. So weirdly enough despite being the one threatening Maya, Coco was the one if felt saddest for.

@@o0alessandro0oI think that's the point though. Every part of the pilot up until that point was building up to this moment, both in a plot sense and a character writing sense. Basically, during the colonial era there was a Belgian king who owned what is now the Republic of the Congo and it was incredibly rich in diamonds. The workers were slaves who if they were lazy or messed up had a limb or two cut off and it didn’t depend on age either. Man, woman, children, all of it. There are a lot of other things but I may have messed up, I recommend you do your own research
