There is a mutual respect between Kahuku and Mater Dei- Kahuku and Trinity League teams in general. A lot of the Polys in the best conference in all of the country have Hawai'i ties. They will play tough during the game, but, it's all good when the game is over.
My guy THE SPECIMEN #52 with the big pick 6 when was the last time a dude with his size has been so mobile is crazy. The MD defence might be better then last years its like missiles flying at you all over the field lmao
His uncle played fullback at Morningside highschool led them to the cif finals against Lompoc in 02 1800 yard rusher ..his other uncle played LB and TB on that team
Thank you UTR for going to the North Shore of Hawai'i (the real paradise North Shore- and not the scared Texas team with the same name that is ducking OOS competition). I hope you got to enjoy the game and Hawaiian culture. It's great you showed at the end Mater Dei's cadence and Kahuku's haka. California and Hawai'i are two of my favorites teams. San Diego native and lived in Hawai'i twice. Blessed to experience and having ties to both states. Cheeehoooo!!
for a small town like Kahuku to always be nationally ranked is unreal. imagine if they had the population of california to chose talent, Kahuku would be number 1 every year.
38-7. Kahuku only gave up two touchdowns on defense. The rest of Mater Dei scores was fg, turnovers and scores on special teams and defense. If Kahuku had a better offense, it could have been a close one.
Notice when Mater Dei selected their Team Captains to participate in the pre-kickoff coin flip, they picked to big Samoan kids as part of their quartet. They wanted to send a message of both friendship and respect to the local Hawaiian crowd.
I was just in Hawaii visiting and on my way to the Polynesian Culture center I seen lots of these flags in the neighborhoods. Little did I know how high ranked they are.
Kahuku should play more mid tier teams. Not Mater Dei and Gorman every year. Don't know what these 40-7 beatings do for them. Random small schools from Delaware can get smacked around and talked dirty by Bosco and Mater Dei 40-0 every year. They always put in their backups because they want to win the MNC so the scores are always the same. If it was Kahuku vs. Servite this year, or Kahuku vs JSerra, it would have been a thrilling, exiciting, throbbing back and forth game. If Kahuku played and beat JSerra this year, it would look much more impressive for Hawaii and Kahuku's ranking would be shot up rather than getting taken up the ass 40-0 by Mater Dei. More Hawaii kids would probably play for them because of that prestige. They also got leverage, Mater Dei and SJB needs teams like Kahuku, they could only get 9 games this year.
Just like St. Louis they have down years when they need to rebuild back to having a dominant team/players as the next generation of homegrown talent grows. Gorman and mater dei know when to schedule lol they refused to schedule at times I bet when at. Louis and kahuku were strong when they knew they would get their “national” rankings affected.
That's what I've been saying too. Last year it was SJ Bosco and MD. This year BG and MD. I can see playing one of these very elite schools once every 3 years or so but not every year and certainly not two teams a year. Hawaii has about as many people as the city of San Diego. Maybe Kahuku, Mililani and St Louis can play teams like Lincoln, Centennial or other Trinity (not MD or Bosco) league teams. Plenty of good teams they can play.
You think Campbells offense as good as Mater Deis? And the Offense Line as Big? Cmon my guy you not serious!! Our Defense held their offense to 14 Pts. But Campbell is good I don’t doubt that!!
@@LOKALZ808 Campbell didn't play any real defense this year! They do have the best offense this year but they never got tested. They did the exact same thing last year in the beginning and then got smashed by kahuku and mililani. If McMillan didn't go down I'm sure there offense would've been putting up more numbers.
@@princevegeta1183 we’ll see, IMO Campbell would smash Kahuku and mililani even if Kini didn’t get hurt, Jaron is just that good, He got 10x better than he was last year, and thats a statement because he was already a top qb recruit last year
Why does teams who graduate 1,000 plus kids a year like play little tiny Kahuku? If size of school was taken in, Kahuku would be the best H.S. Team in America
What year are you living in 1960-1970’s?😂. You never had to truly be Catholic or Christian to attend private schools, but you will participate in mass and other topics about Catholicism in class etc.
Yeah but it's a new year. Just like the defending college champs don't always start the next season as #1, same situation here. I think the ranking is from Maxpreps but the newspaper has Kahuku #1 in the state.
MD put out invites to Texas and Florida but no takers. Hawaiian football teams aren't scared of anyone. Much respect to Hawaii, beautiful state, people and culture.

Excellent video as usual. UTR is the Mater Dei of highlight video creators!
UTR been the Goat of high school highlights! 💪🏽✌🏽
They just need to give the music link! That would solidify it.
Coach Lara defeated Kahuku in 2002 when he was coaching Long Beach Poly and now he did it again with Mater Dei
Mater Dei is a machine. They are the best in the country.

The Recruitment of the Polynesian player, specifically Lineman at Bosco now here at MD, sets them apart from every other team around the country

Prep/private/academy ball is not real HS football. Only public schools.

Fr though! The penalties and pass protection issues on Kahuku’s offensive line was driving me nuts.
What do you mean a better offense?
Mater Dei isn't going to let those boys put up big numbers. 😂
@@averyr18exactly. lol. Defense wins championships.
Kahuku never backs down from anyone
Impressive collection of athletes. Throw good coaching with them and no public school will touch them.
Mater Dei is just scouting underclassmen for potential transfer possibilities, this trip has two purposes, win and grab 👍
