For anyone watching this video, some steps are missing. First, before you tip the lawnmower on its side and with the spark plug removed, pull the starter cord slowly until you feel resistance. Doing this will ensure that the engine is in compression, which will prevent the combustion chamber from filling with oil while it's on its side. Second, when tipping the lawnmower, only ever do it with the air-filter side up; otherwise, the oil will leak, ruin your air filter, and maybe end up on the floor. Finally, slowly pull the starter cord to turn the engine over a few times before starting the lawnmower. Doing this will ensure that everything is adequately lubricated before the engine starts for the first time.
Excellent tip, thanks! I've made this mistake when replacing the blades before. Made it very difficult to start and a huge cloud of oil smoke once it did.
Perhaps for the newbies you could of mentioned something about turning a lawn mower over, if it has petrol inside, and how it vould flood the carburetta... I still dont know what happens if you flip a mower with oil already in there too, to the engine. I feel you should have shared more than the very basics...
I have not been able to find a video showing how to change/sharpen the blade during the season with the oil and petrol in. Its not always practical to remove oil and petrol everytime

Also Check the gap on the plug before putting back in

Hi Belle! Thanks so much for the feedback - I'll forward this on to the team! :)
I tried to put the lawnmower on its side, the oil comes out if your tipping on its oil side. Maybe best to take petrol and oil out before servicing!
