Thank you, I have been cutting my husband’s hair since covid started. I just watched. This is the first time his haircut turned out perfect. 😃
That is awesome!
I would love to cut my younger brothers hair with cerebral palsy
I've been cutting my boyfriend's hair for 21 years .... I still like to learn different techniques ✂️
@@SUGAR_XYLERyou have had a boyfriend for 21 years?
Been a barber since the 70's. I find it amazing that young barbers make such a big deal over doing a fade. We were doing fades 50 years ago.
Wow are you still cutting Russell? That’s a long time in the trade, my first job was in a shop which formed in the mid 70’s and still had a lot of long hair clients. I can’t wait for long hair to come around again.
Due to medical issues I'm retired
but you werent showing the person at home how to do this....
@@russellbogrett605 if that's what amazes you in life then I would suggest trying something new
Hi good job thank
5:26 When that brush came in with that big "SUBSCRIBE" sticker. 😂 Killed me. Nicely done.
I creep it in every now and again. 🤣
@@theoneminutebarber Well played Sir!
Gosh 😮
I work in nursing home and after Covid there isn’t any hair dressers coming in so now I have started to do hair for the residents who ever needs to be done , I use only comb and scissors 😄, so now on will use clippers for men 😅. Though m not at all a hair dressers , I just do out of my passion.
Watching this to cut my own hair, have saved thousands in the last years by cutting my own hair, thanks for the video!
Thousands? How much is a haircut in your area?
I go back to this video for a quick refresher each time I cut my hair. It's been so helpful! Thanks! 😊
You're so welcome!
Thank you for this step by step tutorial. It has really helped me cut my husband’s hair.
Thank you once again sir! Pretty scary using a #2 on the top for blending to the side but going "with the grain" makes it work! Cutting my own hair since covid and I have you to thank for making it work well!
Working down with a #2 what a great idea. That area was the only area I had trouble with and that tip worked fantastic. Thanks from Nova Scotia Canada!
Thanks Brian 👍👋
Same trouble I had trying to blend the crown area with the nape area.
I appreciate the tip on using #2 downwards. I hope that I don’t mess up. You are an excellent teacher 🙏 THANK YOU
❤ Thank you, this really helped me with my father’s hair. I recommend for anyone to do this and help a family member that has trouble getting to the barber!
You are so welcome!
i'm going to mohawk dad tomorrow
he might never go out for months after this : )

This was my very first time using clippers and cutting my husband's hair, and it actually turned out well!! Thank you for this tutorial
My pleasure, well done.
Unfortunately, I don’t always understand the technique with scissors, but everything is clear with a clipper 👍🏼 hello from Ukraine 🇺🇦
Thank you mister t 😁
Thank you for the tutorial, its new years Eve and my husband didn't have time to get a hair cut so I did it and it turned out beautiful!!! I really appreciate it so much !!

Hello thanks for the info am a lady coming from African very much inspired to do barbering and haircuts😍
Welcome!! And thank you 😊
Details matter! Here in Hollywood barbering is linked to movie and television production. You must determine your outcome before starting because you're going for a specific look. So, visualizing what a cut needs to look like is key to matching the tools needed to produce it.

I liked that's ones steps 1 , Steps 2 and steps 3 during comb and hair trimmer .
Thank you for your technique in barbering. I think I missed the class on barbering when I was at school so your short videos are very helpful! 👍🏻
Happy to help!
Thank you I have been grooming dogs for more than 20 years but my husband decided he wanted me to clip his hair today and I found you! Some of My tools are not the same for humans! But I will still use my cordless Wahl km’s until I get some for people 😂 I can do a poodle but never done a person and all the beauticians and barber bring their dogs to me haha
Let me know how you get on. I reckon if you can give a dog a haircut then a human is no problem.
I love Scotland! so productive and vibrant

Thank you! I’ve been cutting my husband’s hair off and on since we got married, and I’ve been cutting my boys as well since the pandemic. This video is REALLY going to up my fade game! One question: When you use the #2 guide in a downward motion to blend the crown in with the sides, would that method work on curly or wiry hair? Thank you again for a great tutorial!
It’s less effective the more curly the hair is. This method relies on the hair laying flat in a stack. So you are skimming the surface of the stack off
Thank you!!!
Thank you for this video! My dad lives in a retirement home and they last charged him $36 for a LOUSY haircut. After watching this I believe I was more successful. Thank you for sharing your skill and knowledge.
My Pleasure and I am pleased to hear it came in useful
this video very useful tutorial for beginner barbers in south Korea!
Happy to hear that! Thank you 😊
Just started to really practice cutting hair I just had a few people who trusted me and really needed a haircut 😂 just from the beginning of the video I feel like I started out pretty good still got some learning to do however I've always wanted to learn never had an opportunity til now
I love your SUBSCRIBE brush!!! 🤩
😉
Looks just as good, if not better, than the fade fad. Much faster. I do my Grace Jones with the top longer and gelled. Crunchy but looks good. Attack at an angle and blends easily.
Hi Mr. Holm! As usual I enjoy ALL your videos and l learn a lot from them, but I particularly enjoy this video which gives the learner a lot of confidence. You're the best, Mr. Holm!! :)
Thanks so much Canpat
Fantastic video! I cut my own hair and I love the way I do, bit this will definetly help get the back shorter!

You are so welcome Gus 😁😁
Thank you so much for sharing and showing me how to cut hair with clippers. 😊
You are so welcome! Thank you so much for that super thanks 😊 🙏
Bit late to the party but if i choose to debulk with a number 4 (going up) can do i use a number 3 or 2 while blending (going down with clipper)?
Yes I’d say so. It’s unlikely the #4 going down would be close enough to take anything off.
Thank you some of us appreciated the input. After seeing a few of your clips i purchase some clipers. Haircut growing uo where about $10 to $12. When i was on base free fast-forward to last month $35 most places the rest $40. Women cuts are 200 to 300 just insane most men dont have long Complicated hair. Its allmost always short 5 min Haircut in and out. I just cant I can't afford a haircut anymore as a senior and a vet
Well I hope the video helps. I understand the issue with price. It is the same in the UK I have also had to dramatically increase my price. It is extremely difficult to get it right, between staying afloat and offering value for money.
Thank you so much my partners hair was perfect. Better than the £40 barbers❤
You’re welcome 😊
Thank you for your videos! I just had my first week on the floor and one thing im noticing is im too scared to take my clippers all the way up when debulking, it just makes detail work a lot harder when I blend. But now I know its okay!
once you get it, its easy. I hope this video helps.
very useful and thanks for the schooling much appreciated
Thank you 🙏
Love your digital display….
Thank you very much from Egypt, the mother of the world
You are very welcome
How is it possible that you cut the hair on the back and sides with a longer comb (green) and shade the top with a shorter comb (yellow)? Will this cut it too short? Do you need to be careful and just comb your hair lightly? Thank you 😊
Good question izabela. It is thanks to the direction of the hair growth. When I cut up the sides, the clipper guard lifts the hair and cuts it to the length of the guard. However when going down the clipper guard does not lift the hair, instead it skimms the surface off.
@@theoneminutebarber Thank You so much 🩵

Thank you, you're a great educator.

Hi, is it always a #2 on the way down to blend in? I want to try this but am a little scared to use such a short clip, would it also work with say, #4? Thanks
It probably won’t work with a 4, I doubt anything would be cut. But might work with a three.
This is the type of haircut im looking for long on top short on the sides
Yeah, the other way around isn't a good look.
Love from India ❤🇮🇳

I didn't know that I can blend edges of the crown by cutting from top to down especially with electric clipper
It’s a handy technique. I don’t use it all the time but it can be useful

Fantastic content as usual, much appreciated mate 🤝🏻
I will give it a try. It will save me a lot of money 💰 from going to a stylist and getting my haircut every 4 to 5 weeks.
This is the exact type of clipper I need. I’ve always have a desire to give a haircut to my friend but he always refuse. I offer to practice #3 so if I screw up, it would not look bad. I also offer to pay for the barbershop redo if I screw it up but he still refuse. Yet, he goes to the barber every 3 or 4 weeks. I could save him some money but he refuse anyway. Hahahha.
Excellent tutorial. Great explanation thanks

Whats the name of the clippers and where to buy? Any link please thanks...want to get to learn to cut my husbands hair 👍
These are TPOB slime clippers and you can find them on Amazon.
What a nice surprise waking up to this! Here's a very basic ?: how high should the clients head be in relation to you? I had cut someone's hair over the weekend & it seemed he was too low for me to maneuver around properly (no barber chair (obviously)).
I hate cutting hair on a normal chair. I prefer to have the clients head at about my chest height. But thats my own preference. Obviously people are different heights, the barber and client are both different heights and the chair as a range of motion on it. Chest height for clipper work is what I prefer and I'll drop the chair down so the top is about chest height when cutting the top. But I've worked with tall and short barbers who don't have the luxury of the perfect height.
@@theoneminutebarber Obviously my setup at home needs some work. My son's friend showed up with a mass of hair. So much that my Wahl clippers were struggling. I ended up debulking with scissors. Too bad I didn't remember that downward trick with the clipper. Next time 🙂
You know what is quite handy for home haircutting is a bar stool.
@@theoneminutebarber Good tip. I think I have something that will work! Tks Mike
great content !
Very helpful thank you
Nice clipper boss
If i wanted use clippers to cut top part of the head (top middle part) in which direction should i use the clippers? From bottom to top or top to bottom?
That depends on the result you want. If you go with the grain of the hair it will remove density but remain long. If you go against the grain and make the hair stand up into the blade then it will remove length to the length of the clipper guard.
Great video!! You have help me alot!

Is Wahl's Color Pro Plus good clippers for someone who would cut their significant other's hair occasionally. NOT a professional by ANY means
They are apparently pretty good although I believe they don’t have a lever so not much use for anything shorter than a #1
Thank you but I wish you had shown how to cut the top with clippers
Thanks
great skill . thank for your vedio.
Thank you too
I tried step #2, blending in the ridge with a 2 guard (6mm) but I chopped of a big chunk of hair leaving an almost bald spot. It's not too bad, but I did what you said in the video...going downwards with a 2 guard. My hair on the sides was 18mm and 42mm on top. I then used the 2 guard (6mm) and downwards but unfortunately I chopped off all that hair. What did I do wrong? Thank you!
There could be a couple of issues pookie. Is your hair curly? It won’t work on curly hair. Also you have to go in the direction the hit is growing.
@@theoneminutebarber thank you for your reply. My hair is very straight and I did do it in that direction. Could it be because one of those pointy things on the guard are missing (it broke off some time ago. It's one of those telescopic clippers with two different guards, one from 3mm to 21mm and one from 24mm to 42mm )? Note: this has not been an issue when cutting my hair on the sides and top. Thanks again
That could be the issue, where the tooth is missing the blade will get slightly closer
when do you move the clipper in a curved motion and when just go up straight? what areas of head?
It really depends on the style. You would curve out for a tapered style and go straight up for a square style. I also have a free community where I help novices and learner barbers. There are people of all levels in there and lots of free tutorials you’d be most welcome to join www.skool.com/one-minute-barber-academy/about
@@theoneminutebarber thanks!
it's not long time how are you master
thank you. can i used all clippers for the hair.
You can clipper the whole cut if you want
Hello! Does it work for any head shape? I don't want to mess up my partner's hair.. Thanks
the clipper methods here are pretty universal, however on a narrow head I would use a different method. something that leaves more weight at the side
@@theoneminutebarber Thank you! 😊

Hi! I’ve watched a lot of your videos and have cut my husbands hair a few times now, but I’m still running into the same problem, and hoping you can help. My husband (half Filipino half white) has some very thick and dense hair and he wears it “normal” parted to the right on the top. Every time I do a #4 on all the side parts of his head but then blend it up and cut the top of his hair the side where all of his hair rests looks like it isn’t blended at all! It feels super noticeable and I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. I leave his fringe a bit longer so it can sweep to the right side but then all the top hair resting to the right makes it look like I used the trimmer but didn’t blend leaving a harsh “line” of hair. Pls help!

I know.
Do you cut the hair on the top of the head first before blending the top of the sides with the clippers @ 3:18 or does it not matter
Good question. I tend to cut the sides and try to get it as blended in as possible. But then cut the top after and blend in further. But I’ve seen many barbers cut differently
