Not correct. Sure, it would ideally be inserted the way Lambert explained, but the shaft is symmetrical with equal whip on each side and made for righties or lefties. After using a number of blades shooting, the stick would be whippy, so you put the blade in upside down in hopes of getting some stiffness back.
@@Jk81_ Absolutely they do. I turned a number of stiff flex sticks to absolute whips. I grew up with one piece wood, and two piece aluminum and graphite sticks. It was common to alternate the stick blade to use both sides.
@@moosejaw99 I have been playing my entire life that is not how sticks work especially *checks video* using a stick that small it doesn’t matter. Dude just didn’t put the blade in correctly. Not that serious just funny that he is just now realizing he put the blade in wrong.
@@Jk81_ Sounds like you're getting educated on the fact that aluminum and graphite two piece sticks can get whippy the more you use it on one side. Yes, the technology improved from the mid to late 80's, but it was commonplace to reverse the side use of the shaft. Look it up. I played through junior and college. It isn't a big deal, and yes ideally you would want the stick to be the "right way", but the reversals occurred on purpose.
He didn’t even know what a Si Core was. What the heck are you going on about? He called an orange Synergy the original. I mean really? We all know the OG was silver. Just silly to compliment him.
JM referencing the Mission promo for the free stick with a pair of skates gave me so much nostalgia. Forced my Dad to get my the Mission skates so I could get a free HEX-1 only to have a guy fall on it during a game and snapping it within the first few weeks of finally getting the stick in the mail 😂
Man that Nike stick is a major throw back. I had one as a kid with a Yzerman curve and always loved that thing. I ended up giving it to a little kid I was coaching a few years ago because his family didn’t have the money to buy him one that fit him properly. I hope he loves it as much as I did
sometimes we'd put the blade in aluminum sticks upside down once it started to retain a bend in the shaft. Flipping it over you could bend it back straight with your next blade. Have a couple Christian and some Easton aluminums around the basement and an Easton kevlar which was stiff as rebar, but light.
Great video ! As a 60 yo still playing hockey in senior beer leagues, I went from heavy Sherwood PMP 5030 in my youth to now using very light True Catalyst hockey stick… it’s a world of difference. It took me some time though to adapt to one piece hockey stick, question of feelings, which i like on old wood stick but now I wouldn’t come back to it.
Born in 89’. Ive seen the entire movement of stick technology… my first stick was no curve wood Easton, now i have 500$ dummy carbon sticks lol i remember back in the day coaches would carry heat guns in their bag for behind the bench. Glue rattling in the shaft with custom curves was the norm lol
Original OG Stealth, I remember working at Perani’s from the first Synergy- through the first stealth. So I loved the Si-Core, Response Plus XN10, I still have an orange Response Plus, a chrome Z-Bubble with Focus flex blade, and those Cyclones were actually awesome sticks. Synergy Si-Core, and OG Stealth are my top two.
In 1984 I was 12. I saved my money to buy a White & Red Gretzky Titan and I put red tape on it. Played nothing but road hockey with it. We called it “street hockey”. None of us could skate and we used milk crates for goals. 😂 We called it “street hockey” and had to stop the game when a car drove through. It was in St. Louis, Missouri USA. Also… Let’s Go Bkues!
I had a green Easton Octane with a CCM Vector blade with a Lecavalier curve. The heal curve, open face combo made it so easy to control backhanders. My favorite goal of all time was in a game where I scored a hat trick all backhanders. I was standing in the slot, and my winger had the puck in the corner. I presented my backhand for the pass. I noticed as the puck was almost on my stick that the goalie was cheating, thinking I wild bring it to my forehand for a shot being that far out. I one timed it top corner on the backhand. I couldn't believe how much I got on it and how loud the ping was. I've had nicer goals, but that was the first goal where guys were talking about it at school the next day. It felt pretty cool to be compared to Sundin in the early 2000s, lol.
Shout-out hockey hut! I worked there in junior high as part of some sort of work experience program. It was a block away from my grandma's house so I would go there for lunch and we would watch The Young and The Restless together. Good times. RIP Lou, miss you ❤
Had many sticks in the day. Favorite was the Gretzky Easton shaft m that my grandmother gave me. Also loved the blue CCM vector v110. Now I just use a tron shaft with a tron blade.
Easton sticks are the best! Still the only sticks I use. The first one I think I had was the green ST. Also the black and red stealth. Several SE16’s (my personal favourite). An S19, a silver and blue SL (my second favourite). A few CX’s, Mako’s, an RS. Recently I picked up an original silver Synergy Chuck Kobasew pro stock for $50. Would love to get an original yellow or orange synergy at some point. Don’t need anymore stick but why not lol.
I absolutely loved my Koho Revolution. Still have my last one, from back in my freshman year of high school, before I moved on to the Easton (finally able to get a part time job and afford better sticks). For a relatively inexpensive stick, felt really nice in the hands. Actually busted it out for an alumni reunion game a few years back. Probably weighed more than the entire pile of sticks the current squad uses today.
@@rickybautista6880 Those blades were classic. Great curve and compact. I had my UltraLite stolen and the K-lite happened to be the only one on sale. Best stick purchase I ever made. (20 years ago)
I was starting to get pissed due to no Koho or Titan mentions, but end part was sweet😎 Also I tried to count how many times Jesse said Eh' but lost the count after 93
That 5030, lasts three hard clappers from the point lol. it will never break, but it will be like an old skateboard with no pop. Damn jesse you'd love my collection haha
shit, says how little i skate out these days, my 2 main sticks are an s17 and a nike bauer supreme one90, though i've been through plenty of goalie sticks in that time
All Red with white letters Titan TPM 3020z Sherwood PMP Bourque. Christian. Gold Easton aluminum. Black w/green Easton aluminum. Few Montreal sticks. All child hood and teenage.
i still have my koho and a Sherwood, and even a stick branded "howitzer" like the tank. i thought fuck yea its a badass name so i entered a sweepstakes using 10$ 2$ per entry, won the stick. it had 2 dollar coins taped all over it. so i got money and a stick. they stick was the first composite stick i had it was so light you could not feel it in your hands. the flex was insane i was doing slapshots with wrist shots. that lasted 10 games until someone just slashed the stick in a corner battle and it snapped like a pencil. that was the end of that and the company had gone out of business. i then bought a ccm rbz 80
to anyone doubting how hard my wrist shots were, i was a starter in my league's all star game, i got a breakaway and since i knew i shot faster than normal people i just let a wrist shot rip well obviously the all star goalie actually knew about me already and was told to watch my shot. he blocked it in his chest dead center as he dove. he did not get back up for 5 minutes. so even through all those pads he still felt it.
Leave it to Jesse to find out years later he put the blade of his stick in wrong

Yeah, same with Maccelli. Even Leo Komarov sounds more in place.
I love how they refer to those curves as “modano” and “sakic” I still do that to this day. Miss these twigs, relics now.
Not twigs =;)
@incumbentvinyl9291 sorry “hockey sticks”

Koho Revolution is iconic. I'm almost 41 and loved that stick as a kid.
I have two of them in the rafters in the garage.
Lambert is gonna be so good.
Easton S17 will always be my favourite stick

That was very fun. Jesse did well with those 2.
5:00 Good thing he clarified that he meant the team back home, I was going to ask if he remembered to put the new cover sheet on his TPS report.
Lambert has an awesome personality, and his English is getting very good.
Missing some icons in the original Synergy, and the Vapor XX and XXX. Maybe Corwin could have sent some of those Bauer twigs your way.

Bro the z bubble with a focus flex blade was hands down the stick back in the day. Even after one pieces came out
Missed a golden opportunity to bring in an "O-Stick" from RBK (because it wasn't yet branded with the full name "Reebok")
The silver Easton - a la Saku Koivu.
I think I had the Sakic curve. Took a beating on faceoffs, but they were quite durable.
I loved the Modano curve, after a time it was impossible to find
So nice to see all these iconic sticks
So no Easton Z bubble? No TPS tri-core? Not even the damn focus flex blades? My guy we need a pt 2 with other sticks!
funny, I had both of those shafts at the same time and both had Yzerman Focus Flex blades.
The thps2 shirt ...👌👌👌
