Actually, it depends. Tegan sings lead in the songs that she writes and Sara sings lead in her songs. It works that way because they don't really like writing songs together as a whole, though they give eachother advice when needed.
Tegan is always on the left*, both can't be on the right :) But actually they have different faces too. Sara has a longer face. Tegan has a little bit thicker face. But the safest metod is to find the labret piercing, that's Tegan.
