I'm not sure about the Big cats kept as pets back in the 60s/70s if they was neutered to stop them spraying and then released into the wild after the 1976 Dangerous animals act, obviously they have a population considering the many reports and the attack of a young Welsh boy in Monmouth but the population is not big enough to solve the deer crisis. Yes I replyed twice on this subject as it got me thinking, thanks for sharing!!
@@thewildlifephotographer297 yes I agree that there's fake news and reports especially from people who have got something to gain on platforms like RUclips and mistaken identity doesn't help but farmers who have lost cattle, there's the Gordon Ramsey case, and incidents like my father who was less than 20 feet away from one early one morning at work prove we have a breeding population in the UK.
@@Badger69-96 yep, I have a friend who is a felinologist who told me there is a healthy breeding population in the forest of dean and parts of Cornwall/devon
Simple. Reintroduce apex predators which fed on those deer. But honestly i doubt that will happen. I give up on Britain there's no hope for it being rewilded.
Long term solution?.. we are the ones who are overpopulated. I think the solution is opening up more land and creating walk ways under roads and introducing natural predators that we have persecuted over the last few centuries.
well its clear that every thing so far has failed to keep on top of it so now we should be pushing for the Apex Predators, even if it means putting in a petition may help force the issue.
Reintroduce the wolf is the natural solution but if there are big cats living in the UK it's only a matter of time before they have a big enough population to solve this problem.
One simple solution that would provide a good supply of healthy organic meat would be to make hunting deer easier and less controlled, for instance by bow hunting like in much of Europe. Tax relief on all equipment related to this would be good too.
Surely trial runs need to be done in large natural areas such as the Highlands and the Forrest of Dean. Introduce the lynx as the wolf is unfortunately not going to happen any time soon.
A tasty Venison pie and a spicy Venison Curry do seem to be in order.

Yeah I agree, there's a small number of them, but the problem with knowing the population is all the FAKE NEWS! AND REPORTS GOING AROUND

Wolves and Lynx reintroduction will help a lot. Also a designated bow season for people to hunt them in wilderness and woodland areas.
Venison for dinner, would you join me Abbie? 🤣. Gud vid.
Predators like wolves and lynx are the solution
5 years hopefully we should have a Eurrasian Lynx
@@harleesears739 5 years? Fck off it needs to be sooner 🤣

Funny how we have big cats but apparently we can't have wolves🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

My wifey with another great video
Can you do a video on the lungfish
prevention of deer overpopulation is already too late.

The solution is obvious

Only 2 type of deer are actually native to Britain
Shoot the deer and eat the deer, I never see Venison for sale but we have a huge deer population in Epping Forest and surrounding areas.
