Welcome to Animal Educate!
My name is Abbie and I'm a filmmaker, teacher and wildlife biologist in the making. I have a diploma in Animal care and Marine biology and I'm studying an MSc in Wildlife biology and conservation as well as wolf behaviour and rewilding.
The animal kingdom is full of mysterious creatures to learn about - in fact you will never stop learning about animals or the environment. We discover 18,000 new species every year! Explore the animal world with me.
My channel is an educational and entertaining platform dedicated to research, teaching and raising awareness. I cover animal ethology and ecology. I also cover important and interesting animal news and have a particular interest in Rewilding Britain. Rewilding is so important! Too many of us are disconnected from animals and nature. Rewilding is the first step to bring nature back into our lives and bridging that gap. We can learn so much from animals!

Yes reintroduce the lynx and even the wolf. We humans must return to nature and have our native forests return.
So important for the biological balance
I agree inhumans are the cruelist animal, but ther are good Humans that care for life and Planet Earth.
Yes 💚💚
I remember seeing red squirrels in the village I grew up in, I'd see them running along the school walls almost every time I went past. All gone now. I would suggest habitat restoration for the reds which takes into account grey squirrels as well. Reds prefer coniferous woodlands and greys prefer your oaks etc. My idea would be to extend existing red squirrel range by introducing more coniferous woodlands to encourage reds to breed and strike out for new territory further afield (a practice known as 'range extension' in rewilding circles), where the range of the target species is extended through habitat restoration rather than captive release. Red squirrels can also help expand their habitats by spreading seeds. This would mean less competition with other animals, and the restoration of precious woodlands that have long since been lost. Also grey squirrels are NOT the only reason we have lost reds in most parts of the UK, the biggest culprit is habitat destruction which in turn forced the two species much closer together. The chopping down of our old growth coniferous woods, pollution of vital water sources with things like farm runoff, microplastics and sewage, those things have massive knock on effects for other species.
Do not use a harness there made for one thing and one thing only, and that's for pulling.😊

@AnimalEducate A Dingo gear slip collar first but may need other tools, but I can't say not knowing everything about your situation, A very good you tuber to look up is Southend dog training, as he says no bs training and keeps everything very simple. His got a very good reputation and people travel hours to go to his place.

If you give up on a rescue dog!!! Then you don't deserve an amazing beautiful creature.

I found a dog who looks just like storm. When I found him, I knew someone dropped him off at the park hoping someone would take him. The park was near a school where a lot of families gathered. The dog had been through it. His behavior was that of a wild animal. My vet said it appeared someone got him as a "present" and then caged him. He was so big, 120lbs, so strong, vet said he was a lab/flat coated retriever mix. The dog could jump a 6ft fence without any trouble and did. I spent 3 weeks looking for the owners. Ads in the local paper. Posting photos of him at pet store. notifying local police I had the animal. One thing about the dog, he loved kids. He was fantastic with kids, or I would have taken him to the pound. The dog bonded with us. He'd jump the privacy fence and leave on the daily but when I'd get home from work, he'd be curled up in front of my house/fence waiting to get back in. I took him out on my boat he loved it, it sealed the deal. The dog never left my side, no leash, and watched my every move. I had him 16 years. Best damn dog I ever had, and I know its cuz he chose us.
@@annettewest8739 thanks so much for sharing your story ❤️

I’m literally crying 😢 thankyou so so much for taking storm in, he was one of the best fosters that I had and it makes my day just as much now as it did the day he come to you! Thankyou Abi ❤
Wolves are not the moster. Human is the devil\evil =moster in this planet. Indeed, wolves are the true angels. Angel is a term that human being use to define godness and bravery because human knows that human can never be an angel because of the true evil in the dna of them. Human hates wolves becsude wolf is the top of the foodchain, true number one predator in this planet. Way smarter, royal, loyal, fearless, brave and stronger than a humannbeing. Human being has annadvantage over a wolf only with the tools and support of the collective intelligence if the 9 Bllion + human in this planet and over 150000 years of collective technologic advancement of billions if humanbeing lived and has been living in this planet. If you take si called the smartest and mkst strongest human being and leave it alone middle of a wild nature, far far from other humans, without any tools, weaoons, clothe, food etc that made by the ither 9 Billion people in teh world; That human being will nit have any change against to an avarage wolf. While wolf uses no weapon, no tools and\or any kind if collective support from the wolves around the world. All wolf has is the its physical self same way as the birth of it and its intelligence learned with life experience and came from other pack members. Forget about physical fight between that human being vs wolf. Just finding a food and surviving will be the real chalange.human will not last more than 5 days, without any kind if tool, food, weapon etc by ither human beings in the civilized world. However, %99,99 of the alone wolves will survive for years, without any kind if pack or any kind of support from ither wolves...
Killing wolves causes way more damage to farming and agriculture than anything else. That is just an excuse to kill some creature. Human already found a proper way to stop wolves eating livestock, without any creature killing another. Livestock guardian dogs. Turkish Shepherd dog variations (Kangal, Akbas, Malakli etc) has been doing that job perfectly for more than 2000 +years. Just a pack of Turkish Kangal Shepherd dogs, will prevent any kind of wild predator attacking livestock. %99,99 of the time, Turkish shepherds and wolves (or bear, mountain lion etc) do not get physical action, no whatsoever close combat. So, wolf stay alive in their natural habit, dogs alive and heeding their livestock, human are happy because wild predators do not eat livestock. Turkish livestock guardian dogs works in packs, exactly the way that wolves do. Around 4 grown adult Kangal dogs can protect Upton 400 sheep or goats and powerful enough to defeat 8 to 10 wolves.Kangal dog pack of 6 dogs, can defeat any number of the wolves no matter how big is the wolfpack. Wild predators are smart enough to know that they have no chance against to 4 adult Kangals and never gonna change them. Dogs never gonna get into physical war if it is not really necessary. Even 20 human shepherds and\or cowboys etc. cannot do the job that 4 Turkish Kangal dogs can do. Cost efficient, no death, no harm to the nature, no harm to the livestock. One bark of an Kangal dog is 100 times more effective than shooting 1000 Bullets.....
Such a great work you did. However, among all that information, you did not mentioned the ""Ergenekon"" legend. Wolf is a holly animal in Turkish\Turkic = Türk culture. Legend literally mentioned that whole Turks came from A wolf mother and human father. İndeed, that shewolf (Asena) is reflected as sort of female prophet or even Goddess herself. I believe, whole that werewolf bullsit Hollywood movie character anctually comes from the Turk\Turkic ethnic. If we consider, all the the Huns (Attila the Hun), Ottomans, Seljuk, Timurid, Mongol etc Turkic empire and fear of their warrior culture, it makes sense to define Turks and\or wolves as a socalled monster creature like a werewolf.
I have had wolves at my farm several times. Trackers found they had been staying less than 100 meters from our house in the woods for at least one week. I once walked up to them in the middle of a field but I had to stop because they did not flee. This meant I could not let my kids roam free on the farm because what if the wolfs dident care that you say they don’t kill people
Where are you? If you contact the IWCN they are brilliant for advice and guidance. wildlifecoexistence.org/ xx
Your cow example doesn't make sense at all.

@@AnimalEducate By that logic you could argue that walking down the stairs is more dangerous than jumping out of an airplane just because more people die every year walking down the stairs
Thank you for this valuable facts
WONDERFUL VIDEO!!!!!!!! There were still ancient species of wolves that were hard core like sabertooth tigers and mammoths in Bible times. They were the animal's men faught in Rome. No one wanted to pay to see a Grey Wolf killed in an arena. The wolves in the Bible were obviously more like hyenas and wild dogs, the kind that didn't kill first and THEN fiest. Just watch videos of how those various wild dogs, coyotes and coywolves kill. They tear their victims to pieces alive, THAT IS THE SIGNATURE DIFFERENCE that idednties those killers from Grey Wolves, no mercy kill. Bears don't kill first and then eat, a mountain lion will grab a throat but it will hind-claw the innards out and eat while it's in shock. If I had to choose between being killed by any kind of wild animal and a gray wolf I would choose a gray wolf without a thought. Matter of fact I'd prefer to be killed by a gray wolf than a human.
What Ranchers don't understand is that wolves do on farms what they do in the wild, they detect sickness and defect that humans can't detect. There are videos of them NOT taking down a calf bison in their reach but run right past the calves and take down an adult bison. When researchers foresiced the cached bison to find out why the wolves chose a harder kill that risked injury and was more than they could consume, they discovered the bison had an existing problem in its hind leg. Wolves, if they attack livestock it's that they detected defect or sickness. Grey wolves never sport kill or destructively kill, but coywolves, coydogs, wolfdogs and coyotes DO. Greys are unique, They only break character if they are under duress. They, kill at the throat before eating, the ground will pin the victim but wait for the one at the throat to detect death or lack of pulse and movement. Greys are UNIQUE, they help flora and fauna to thrive, they won't over hunt a species but will change their menu to the prey that is out of balance and disrupting the balance. Not all wolf species are alike, Greys are STEWARDS OF THE FORESTS... humans forgot their role as stewards and can't find fault with the loyalty the Grey Wolves uphold in their absence. I can't stand the misinformation that lumps all wolf species into a single identity. The Grey Wolf is a victim of Identity Theft... they deserve to be exonerated from the bad actors and impostors.
@@jibberoverjava thank you so much for your comment
The most dangerous animal on earth is not the wolf but the mosquito which has killed more humans than any mammal and due to climate change we may find that malahria will spread to parts of our continent which were thought to be to cold for the the mosquito to survive. I for one love the wolf, thanks for another great informative video and wishing you a Happy New Year 🎉
Any animal can attack humans, especially in self defense but neurological diseases and parasites is what people should be afraid of 🧐🔬

Thank you. I find it disturbing how people are buying plastic trees "for environmental reasons because cutting down trees is bad and also Christmas tree farms destroy real forest". Maybe one should not get a Christmas tree from the grocery store or other olaces that make it likely to be from a huge Christmas tree farm where they weed out the undergrowtg etc.. But for very many people it is possible to get the tree from a local farmer who gets them from his own forest. The forests here (Germany) exist BECAUSE they are profitable, so let's help them stay a source of income.
It’s not a nest. It’s a duplex. Those things are bigger than my shed.
