Parker Valby compete level is super elite. Throw in the fitness... and look out!
Parker Valby has always been a class act...except it is no act. She is a credit to track and field and all of those who fight through setbacks to finally reach their goals.
Parker Valby is a straight up hard core killer, and I appreciate the announcers’ enthusiasm during this race too. This video rocks. Go Gators and go Parker.
Great race by Valby. Dont take away her victory by bringing up Touhy. Its about time Parker won an NCAA.
i agree, but u just brought up touhy though lol
What a beast. Who won? Exactly.
Without tuohy in it…..
@@acct5910 haha I know, but I was referring to the announcers who brought her up and the comments I knew where going to appear once the video was posted lol.
She's a sophomore, what do you mean it's about time? You act like they brought up Katelyn incessantly but they didn't. This is what they call a strawman. You're projecting and that's so weird especially in this situation.
Parker Valby is one tough athlete. Incredible performance to battle through the heat and setbacks. Valby has the heart of a champion. She is a National Champion, NCAA Women's Outdoor 5000m champion. Well deserved.
What does all this even mean? Word salad to say what? She won, she was supposed to win. She was by far the favorite in the field. She's doing what she's supposed to do. You act like she rescued orphans out of a burning school building. Cringe
@@chuckdeuces911 She rescued a cat stuck up a tree on the 8th lap.
@@chuckdeuces911 she had a major injury and instead of giving up she has bounced back from it. Thats whats hes saying
@@dylandixon4058 Katelyn Tuohy did the same only they don't mention how she overcame her setbacks.
@@James_Lindgaardbecause this is about valby not her lmao
It's highly impressive that Valby won this race considering the second half she looked to be hobbling just a little. I hope she doesn't push herself too much to where she suffers a more severe/long term injury!!
This is a prelude for what’s coming in cross country. Parker Valby has tenacity and incredible potential. She will be the 2023 NCAA cross country champ!!!
Aaaaaaaaw yeah. It’s almost time for Nuttycomb. Y’all best ensure the golf cart is tuned up so it doesn’t slow Parker down as she’s ruthlessly punishing the field.
NCAA champ...........beautiful race....never lost focus all year.
For sure as a transgender walk on maybe gapped by a minute minus thong
Awesome! So glad for Parker Valby. I wanted to see her win and very glad she did. Great job Valby!!!
Man, what a girl,...she's just full of heart, tough as they come.
I'm so happy for Parker! Congrats to her!!
Great athlete!
Nice to see Parker Valby win the 5K. Her fitness is amazing. Hats of to her for powering through with an ongoing injury.
Actually, her fitness has been one of her biggest handicaps since the beginning of her her freshman year. As the announcers briefly touched on, she has battled a chronic lower leg issue since then which has limited her ability to put in the miles necessary for an optimal performance. The coaches have greatly limited her mileage and put in some cross training to build her endurance as much as possible, but it’s not really the same. She’s running largely on pure guts. Just imagine what she’ll be able to do if she can get that injury fully resolved so she can put in the extra training.
@@annasdad8008 Why not just take off the time necessary for it to heal..? Are her coaches that callous that they make her run through an injury this long just to add another name to their wall? I could see her limp in her run.. injuries don’t just magically get better and especially if you keep performing on it.. they just get worse and she will put her career in jeopardy if she doesn’t take time off.
@@darthsilversith667 She has taken time off. She is also getting excellent medical care. She’s not being forced to do any workouts. In fact, according to her own statements, she keeps wanting to do more training but the coaches are pushing her to limit what she does.
@@darthsilversith667 I had a similar problem once. It was unnerving because a guy had one really large leg. It's possible that something like compartment syndrome is starting when her lower leg goes numb. Without swelling, won't be diagnosed. If not life threatening, it won't be diagnosed.
@@annasdad8008 Please read my reply to darth. Also, an Amy Pohl in England had a painful swelling in her arm which doctors weren't able to diagnose. When cells are deprived of oxygen then that will cause a lot of pain.
It’s great
To be
A Florida Gator.
Parker is acclimated to the heat and humidity.
Parker Valby, the most gorgeous division one track and field runner presently in college.
Always nice to see a Florida Gator win
Valby is so inspiring
Lol
Great! Parker was awesome in this race. She has a lot more to give this year. She is an elite competitor and athlete.she is going to have a great year.
these announcers never miss an opportunity to not describe some relevant race action. Valby was stuck in the middle of the pack at the end of the first lap and she slowed up, backing out of the pack, then passed everyone on the turn. As always, the announcer was busy telling some random anecdote rather than addressing the race we're watching.
Love Parker. Big heart!
A super run. She destroyed everyone. She deserves the credit.
Congrats Parker. Well executed race.
I'm a Katelyn Touhy fan. But I must say that Parker Valby is a true champion. All top athletes face difficulties as their training challenges their bodies. Katlyn has faced it. Parker is in the midst of it. In this race, Parker took it to the field by asking them all, 'Can you take this pace?' Nobody had a response. Her ability to do this amid injuries has cemented her as a top competitor. I bow and take my hat off - Parker, congratulations on a supreme performance.
Love watching Parker's stride and running style.
Incredible courage
Congratulations to Parker Valby. So awesome. You won it.
What a GUTSY run for Parker !!~ Well done .
Parker is awesome. Wish I were as tough as her!
You can be!
LET'S GOOOO PARKER!!!!💯💯💯💥💥💥💪💪💪💪
Graceful and very fast, amazing!
Who else fell in love with Parker? Dayum is all I can say.
Good for her. She earned this win fair and square.
Congratulations Parker. Great race.
Dang she limped a 4:52 last mile. She’s one tough cookie.
The cross country 6000 metres that valby ran recently was a great win
Parker is class, and winning like that when not 100% fit is incredible.
Fantastic race for Parker Valby. Very well done Parker ur amazing. You go girl 😊
Great interview. There were only a handful of post race interviews during this meet which didn't immediately detour to nonsense. Ramsden after the 1500 was another one.
You ever seen that guy on ESPN before? His job is to make it fun, been the same for decades. Athlete can post their own serious response later. No one cares about the on-field/track interview.
I'm not sure if KT decided to run in this race if she would've beaten Valby. Kudos to Everlyn Kemboi & Emily Venters for finishing second and third respectively after doing the same in the 10K! (6/11/23)
Who knows? Something was ailing KT. Her coach reported her saying she was feeling terrible after the 1500. But it's just a matter of weeks since KT ran the distance in collegiate record time of 15:03. But all that matters is that Parker was the fastest one on the track Saturday night. Unless Tuohy goes pro, they'll meet again.
Good for Parker Valby!!!!!
Go Parker! She is a tough tough cookie
Beautiful Parker Valby.
CHOMP CHOMP!!!
Goooo Gators!!!! 🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊
Wow! that has totally inspired me to get out for a run today. Great job Parker - a beautiful run & love your style😊 I hope KT sends your a nice congratulatory msge😉
If Tuohy was to send a message she would bring Valby down to Earth with this fact ~ Tuohy's Outdoor 5000m performance just over a month ago on May 6th saw her set a Collegiate Record in a time of 15:03.12... some 27.45 seconds faster than Valby's winning time in this race!. That's what you might call a message you silly sausage!!!
Congratulations young lady
Great race Valby!
Go Gators!!!
Parker is a warrior! Great race! Mental toughness=💯
Parker by 9 seconds! Nice job, champ!
I hope PV figures out what's wrong with her leg and fully heals soon. She is amazing.
big ups to valby. she was the best on this day, by a wide margin. i think most of us like seeing two (or more) great athletes in their prime facing each other in competition. some days we get that. today we didn't. tuohy racing on this day would clearly not have been that. someday if we were to see a rematch of something approaching that, it would be so fun to watch.
Valbymania is running wild!
Go Gators!!! nice run Parker
Parker Valby!! Put the hammer down 🔨
Interesting to compare this race to her record breaking 2024 indoor championship race, where she ran almost 40 seconds faster. Here she looks like a good runner havng a good day. In 2024 she looks like a super elite runner where the sky is the limit.
Phenomenal.
The Best Parker...
I am so sick of hearing about Katelyn Tuohy that it made seeing lovely Parker NCAA Champion even more rewarding.
👏👏👏 I love raning
Yeah Parker!
Valby ! Brilliant.
Congratulations to Parker. Henes was smart to scratch Tuohy who completely ran out of gas with 100 to go after leading the 1500 earlier in the evening right from the start. She ran 4:11 and looked exhausted. Whatever's wrong with her, let's hope it's not serious.
it's fall and flus? and all kinds of things are around. that would knock anyone out. it's smart on Tuohy's part. share the glory and she's got years ahead of her.
Luck is where skill meets opportunity Valby ran for countless hours KT didn’t run the 5k and she seized the opportunity congrats to Valby
Nice job, glad to see her beat that injury and win 5000 gold.
Unfortunately she hasn't beaten the injury yet, there still trying to figure out what's causing the numbness in her lower leg.
Congratulations kemboi
Well done 💪💪💪💪
Parker Valby should Molly Seidel the Marathon Qualifier on her Central Florida home turf on February 3rd and medal in summer in Paris too! Orlando is flat, warrm and sea level. She's from here and would kick ass. Boom! Go Gators! Scott O UF '95 Orlando since '86 Will be there cheering, hopefully for Parker and my fellow Cheesehead Molly
What an absolutely disastrous day for Tuohy! But sometimes you gotta gamble I guess. I don't think she liked the heat, 92° and 55% humidity. Too bad, but there will be other days!
These commentators could learn something off Steve Cram and the Diamond League crew in how understatement can convey more than a fusillade of words
-Паркер, можешь потащить состав на хороший результат?
- Хорошо, ладно.
- Паркер! Зачем ты их отцепила?!
Valby just blows away the sprint, jog tactics that other lesser lights use to disrupt races
4:52 last mile. Enough said.
A fine win by a fine lady.
Where was Tuohy?
How does KT live up to all the hype. Hasn’t worked for Mathew Boling.
where is Katelyn Tuhoy?
Go Gators!
Can someone figure out what is causing the hitch?
Geoff Simpkins she's had past injuries of her achilles, hamstring, hip, and pelvis. The only thing her coach said about the latest injury is that she has some weird nerve thing going on? 🤔
Epic
Don't say aggressive. 👇
My name is Isaiah Kurtis Pilkington
🙏
a lot of verbage about KT...who isn't in the running. I enjoyed this race. well done Valby!
I ran 1.5k, 5 k and 10k. 5k was the worst. Hard scruffy races, no fun or satisfaction or wins.
I wanted Kaitlyn vs Parker.. Tuohy bad
Video time 12:24 since they don't run a 5k in that time no reason to watch an incomplete race espn really sucks.
These Championships make me wonder if Katelyn is injured.
Where was Touhy for this race?
Something must have gone wrong. An hour and a half earlier she led the 1,500 from the gun until the bell lap, but then started fading, got crushed and finished seventh. So something is up.
An hour and a half later, she did not show up for the 5,000.
Scratch because of her performance in the 1500
@@kevinkasp She couldn't get her EPO and avoid a blood test.
@@kevinkasp Injury? Emotional breakdown? The 2023 Bowerman award scenery might still change this weekend
@Dolores Chansey Your an absolute jealous troll
Last year, Tuohy ran 15:18 to win it. She shouldn't have scratched, as she could have jogged a 15:30.
You're forgetting to factor in extreme heat and humidity on top of wind. Makes a huge difference..
Dolores ~ Katelyn Tuohy's Outdoor 5000m performance just over a month ago on May 6th saw her set a Collegiate all time Record, in a time of 15:03.12... some 27.45 seconds faster than Valby's winning time in this race!
I was right )) now I know the reason
Boria boria ✌️✌️
Your "talking heads" know absolutely nothing about long-distance running. Have them run a high school cross-country race and maybe, just maybe, they will be able to say something intelligent.
First if all congratulations Parker. We'll never know what would have happened (one could guess based on the 1500m) if Katelyn attempted this race. One thing for certain, Parker on those fresh legs just dictated the race from start to finish and earned that title with heart and determination.
The 1500m/5000m double plan itself, coaching not great for the double, not a great 1500m race strategy, KT not being herself mentally and/or physically, the Texas heat - mash it up and that will begin to tell the story of KT's performance at Nationals.
Winning the 10000m ACC Title should have been a huge red flag as to not make the double attempt. Overall, KT's sweet spot now appears to be the 5000m and 10000m. KT herself and coach Henes basically set her up to fail.
👍🦵
Valby's numb lower leg is from a back issue .You can see it in her posture. She needs a good Chiropractor Hope someone puts her on the right path👍🤍❤️🤍👍
No tuohy I'm out see ya
Why did Katelyn Touy not run in this race?
Because she burned out in the 1500 prior to this race.
@@randall6144 How dumb are you.... 💀
Hope she can take some time off and rest
Touchy crack under the pressure?
Congratulations are in order for Parker Valby when she surpasses Katelyn Tuohy's Outdoor 5000m record breaking performance just over a month ago, on May the 6th she set an all time Collegiate Record in a time of 15:03.12... some 27.45 seconds faster than Valby's winning time in this race!
HOPE PArker didnt take that poison JABeJAB.. injection..
I am sorry for K. Touhy...but I have seen this. before...she seems fragile psychologically...she needs to learn from this...fuel herself with other motivations in her heart
but congrats to all these other young women
