    If you used a mould release, would the beard have stayed on? Do you have to use mould release with silicone and foam?

  • @stinky59
    @stinky59 2 года назад

    Oh thank goodness this is possible. The representative on the phone from Smooth On was trying to get me to buy 13 GALLONS OF THEIR FLEX FOAM AT $200 EACH to fill a lifecast full body mold (up to the neck gonna do my head separately) I’ll still be getting my silicone from them since their skin safe stuff is good and I only need 2-3 gallons of it but holy shit I refuse to spend that much on foam. No thanks im glad this more affordable foam can be used in a silicone mold! Seems perfect since I don’t care that much about capturing every little detail to be honest. the way it’s coming out of there looks good enough, since it’s a final project for my molding/casting college class and just having pulled off making something that big will be enough for me to get a good grade lmao

    How rigid is the foam once set? is it strong / flexible, or stiff / easy to break?

    • @StiltbeastStudios

    Been using this foam for about 5 years and over the last year or so ive found the newer bodies ive made have started to shrink. Dont know if they changed their formula or if the packages were old but i have made 4 bodies this year with this stuff and they all have shrinkage in random areas. Some of them bad(whole legs and arms lost almost). Gonna try fast2k which looks to be the same thing just a 2lbs foam. Have you tried any of the other alternatives to sika?

      @@cmart0904 along with temperature fluctuations, old product, inconsistent back presure and especially with not enough part a or b in the mix. The 50 50 formula leads to shrinkage from the sika foam. It didnt use too, but has begun too over the past couple years. Now i mix the whole pack and pour it into seperate molds rather then rely on the 50 50 method. Havent had any shrinkage since
