So they decided to play along and then once the player finished the genocide route Chara killed the player making them lose all their progress. Chara also gives them a second chance and at the end once you finish the pacifist route they decide to take over your mind. Making the player kill everyone because you can’t just do something bad and expect no consequences. The only part they are evil in is when they make their plan with Asriel. Chara hated humanity so they decided to take over Asriel to kill humans. That’s the evil part of Chara. They just didn’t really like humanity because they were abused and bullied because of their red eyes. But that’s not the only reason Chara tried to take over Asriel. They also wanted to free monsters. They wanted to do something bad for a good cause. Chara is not really evil in the genocide or pacifist.

Chara was just mad and she really is a nice person, she just began to turn evil the more we killed the monsters. but think again, Chara is just a kid and when she saw us kill her friends and family she became stronger so she decided that she would kill us and take control to get more LV and to get stronger till she can go back to being human again and destroy humanity once and for all.
