Why do people misunderstand Sisyphus' character so much. Sisyphus has no regrets. Not because someone else can accomplish what he failed to do, but because he gave it his all despite knowing it was futile. Whether someone can push the boulder to the top after his death doesn't matter to him. What matters is that he pushed the boulder with all of his might. That makes him happy.
@@lonelyshpee7873 maybe because this was a version of Sisyphus in a different narration. Not saying he's a totally different dude now, but I can see both ways incorporated as one, since Sisyphus himself led an army to stand against the angels and failed.
He can feel happy knowing he used all his might to fight his final battle, as well as knowing how cool it will be that Gabriel is gonna be screwed, win or lose.

What I love most about Sisyphus Prime’s character is that even if he knew his attempts at rebellion and fighting a war against heaven were futile, all he wanted to do was go out swinging.
And in true spite of the.. well, Sisyphean nature of it all, he never once gave a single, solitary fuck

Why noone talks about how canonically, Minos' soul started to form only when flesh prison was destroyed and he was still a very difficult challenge for many people
Meanwhile Sysphius took a "nap" and broke out of the pantopicon prison, which is stronger than the flesh prison, BY HIMSELF and proceeds to beat the shit out of a tin can for 3 hours straight.
Minis is stronger than sysiphus but the difference is that minos couldnt become a prime soul and sysiphus could than that means that minos prime was strong as fuck even without being a prime soulmakes him strong as fuck@@BurningCarcass

But I'ma respectfully disagree with that.
1. Since the first pieces of evidence is that Sysphius is literally a Warlord. So you know he's strong as Fuck.
For Minos.. I forgot, but he was a king or smth, a loving and good king.
2. The Flesh Prison was made to hold Minos, and only after we (the player) defeat the flesh prison, only THEN Minos prime forms. Since that's when he first forms as a prime soul. But not saying Minos is weak. Far from it.
Not only he has godly strength, he has godly willpower to FORM into a prime soul. However, the flesh Pantopicon (which is just flesh prison but on crack) is made SPECIFICALLY to hold Sysphius Prime. Which already formed either before or IN the prison. And was just asleep. And we (Player) "woke him up" and he proceeded to DESTROY HIS OWN PRISON just to beat the shit out of us. That just shows how strong both his willpower, and overall strength is.
3. Minos Telegraphs his attacks very clearly. I mean they do pack a punch, but it's relatively easy to dodge if you literally listen and move out of the way when he says "JUDGMENT". However Sisyphus does not telegraph shit, he does it rarely. And he goes FAST. And in YOUR FACE. He will p e r f e c t l y beat the living shit out of you without breaking a single sweat.
Yeah sure you can parry almost every single one of his attacks, but they are definitely not easy to dodge.
Since this guy is ON YOU 24/7.
Minos does the same thing but gives you a small break by menacingly walking towards you before telegraphing more attacks.
The only break Sisyphus gets is literally a slap to your face and ego.
4. (Don't take this seriously)
Sysphius Prime is a fucking giant compared to Minos
5. King Minos died from Gabriel, and manifested as a prime soul and full of vengeance for his wrong, unfair execution.
Meanwhile Sysphius.. BEFORE HE DIED, AS A HUMAN, challenged fucking HEAVEN (failed ofc, and died to Gabriel) but still had the balls to fight heaven, and comes back as a literal force of nature. He legit scared his own fucking prison to death 💀
And he's mostly doing this for revenge and because he just wants to be annoying to hell and Gabriel
Sysphius Prime overall is just better than Minos.
Lore wise.. Minos is better.

Minos and Sysphius are GOATS in their own ways.
Sisyphus formed as a prime right after his death, ofc that scares the heavens shitless.
Minos only formed right after Flesh Prison was defeated, had no combat experience and literally came up with his entire moveset when he fought V1 and yet was the hardest boss until Sisyphus stepped up.
And being the kind and humble man he was, he legit gave V1 a chance. I mean who tf is warning the enemy of the move before they execute the move.

honestly it'd be kind of interesting to write a paper about what made em react differently, compare and contrasting them. It'd be interesting. If anyone reading this finds a way to do this, that'd be baller.
Minos was in sadness because he could not save his citizens and could not bring back his city to glory
Sisyphus was laughing because he knew that since v1 is stronger than him this means everyone he tried to kill will die anyway like gabriel

Minos was fighting in order to progress on achieving a goal (saving his people), and once it became unreachable, he lamented.
Sisyphus fighting for the sake of it. He did everything he did out of spite and self realization. He didnt have an actual end goal. He was fully shit and giggles.
Minos played a game to win, meanwhile Sisyphus played a game for fun, not caring if he won or lost.
Ultrakill Sisyphus seems to be based off of Camus’ Sisyphus, which realizes the pointlessness of his task, yet continued.
Their final lines pretty much convey all you need to know.
"Forgive me my children, for I have failed to bring you salvation from this cold, dark world..."
Minos cared about his people more than anything, it saddens him greatly to know that in his death, he has failed the people he swore to protect and care for, and he blames it on himself, he's a deeply selfless and kind, giving person, as evidenced by his prime form being so transparent and faceless, with his crown resembling his city which he puts above himself. He feels as though he gave his people false-hope, and that in the end he was too weak to do anything meaningful to help anyone (More evidence to support this: His voice line upon entering his second phase is him growling "Weak," while initially it may seem directed at the player, it makes far more sense that he is calling himself weak for losing the battle, for not being strong enough to stand up for his people and fight) which eats away at him inside, knowing his death has doomed his people, if they were even still alive to begin with, and worse yet he knows he could've done more to help them, if he wasn't so passive when Gabriel struck him down, if he had fought back at all.
"Ahh... So concludes the life and times of King Sisyphus, a fitting end to an existence defined by futile struggle. And I don't. Regret. A second of it."
Right off the bat, you'll notice that Minos' death speech didn't talk about himself at all, his first and last thoughts were about his people, and how he wishes he could've done more for them, instead, Sisyphus only talks about himself, what's happening to him, what he wants, what he's done, what he thinks, and he regards himself as King, even when his kingdom is no more, Sisyphus is a deeply self-centered person, he could care less about what happens to his people, if anything his only desire is to see heaven fall, purely out of revenge, but in this realm of egocentrism, there's also a sense of nihilism, Sisyphus doesn't care what happens, it doesn't matter whether he lives or dies, whether heaven stands or falls, whether the machine or him win or lose, it didn't matter that he stood no chance against heaven when he rebelled, the outcome would be the same anyways, so why should he care? And rather than sink him into a deep pit of hopelessness and depression, if anything, this nihilistic view of the world is what motivates Sisyphus, so what if he lives or dies? Regardless, why not give it his all? It's about living in the moment to him, he knows his actions are futile, and he doesn't care, because he's going to give his all and enjoy it, even if the boulder will inevitably roll down the mountain anyways.
Overall, the two characters different focuses have to do with their own priorities, Sisyphus cares only for himself, he doesn't give a rats ass about anything else besides what he's doing in the moment, while Minos is far more empathetic, and he wishes to improve the lives of all of those who seek it, Minos wants to help others, while Sisyphus wants to help himself.
Sisyphus experienced the moment of "Dear god if this thing killed me those angels are SO dead"
I like to think that Minos’s death scream is him being pushed into a comically deep hole and Sisyphus’s death laughter is what Minos hears while falling down said hole
