This is one of my favorite songs and videos from Slipknot, I love it! I was never really a horror movie fan, but this somehow just hits that spot perfectly for me.
The song is about grief. Letting go of it, to move on. The "devil inside" is the negative emotions, and they are "killing themselves" to be born again healed from the pain of the loss of Paul Gray, and becoming a new band with newer members.
Each of the band members were to face their inner demons and represent the way they least wanted to die. So for example Sid said auto-cannibalism, Chris said being killed by crows, Shawn was burning to death,... etc.

I've loved watching your journey into Slipknot this evening. They have so many great songs by them that you must experience. You mentioned several times that you should have saved them for Halloween. Here's my next 4-block suggestion from them that you could do for Halloween. Duality, Psychosocial, Snuff, Unsainted. Also, there are some other great masked bands that you could do for Halloween. I'd suggest Mushroomhead and Mudvayne. From Mushroomhead, check out QWERTY and Sun Doesn't Rise. From Mudvayne do Dig, Death blooms, and World So Cold. Anyway, that's my 2 cents. Love the channel and keep up the great work!

I remember watching Sharon Osborne, who is the wife of Ozzy Osborne--cofounder of one of the first heavy metal bands Black Sabbath--which formed in the late 1960's, just a few years ago on a TV show that was recently recorded at the time. Evidently at least one of the band members of Slipknot called into the show and complained to Sharon about what Ozzy had said about them. She said I don't know what your talking about Ozzie has never heard of that band. Slipknot was on a Black Sabbath or Ozzy Osborne concert tour as the opening act evidently and Ozzie had no input into who would be on a show date with them and since Black Sabbath started in the late 1960's and Slipknot first formed in the late 1990's its no wonder. He's like their grandpa who has not kept up with the latest most popular bands in heavy metal.
Correction: Ozzy Osbourne (I misspelled their last name) is now 71 years old. Which means he was up to 22 years younger when the name Slipknot was the final name for a band that may have not yet played as a band together. So sometime after that birth of the band is when Slipknot played on the same bill as the headliner Black Sabbath or Ozzy Osbourne. More than likely just Ozzy Osbourne was kicked out of Black Sabbath for heavy drug use.

Dude I saw Slipknot in this tiny little club called Ziggy's in Winston Salem NC back in the summer of 99. You want to talk about a crazy show all 9 band members on this tiny stage in a club meant for maybe 300 people max, everything was destroyed it was spectacular!
