- Nameless Cat is a great game, with a wonderful story and aesthetic. However, the lore can be a bit much to grasp on the first playthrough. This video sums up the entire lore for Nameless Cat, and gives some theories!

I’m a bit late to this, but I saw a theory I wanted to add. The theory is that the cat fell from somewhere high and died. We know that the cat is dead, and at the beginning of the game the cat falls into this world. This world could be the cat’s dream, or afterlife, as it is highly unrealistic. The characters could be animals the cat has seen before. (Nora could be the human, but cats can’t recognize human faces, so the cat pictures the human as a cat instead.)
Another theory I saw is that the caretaker was a crow. You can see multiple references to crows during the game.
1: Crow Feast (caretaker boss ost name)
2: “They do not pet our heads like this.” Suggests that they are speaking from experience, and there are multiple of them, and crows are sometimes associated with bad luck. (Also why would you pet a crow??)
3: The appearance of a crow during the final boss. They could’ve taken Owlin’s wings to look more like a crow.
The correlation with the Caretaker being a crow is something I really like. Since the cat is probably in someplace like the afterlife (or a dream, like you said) the Crow could be the opposite of the Dove, which usually references angels or God
Maybe the spirit used to be crow that was treated badly

I would like to add that in the OST "Crow Feast" during the fight against Spirit/Crow/Caretaker, we hear like a woman's voice "singing". I think it's interesting because we could make a link with "her" mentioned in the game. As if this character was encouraging the Nameless Cat and giving him strength for the final fight.
Despite listening to that OST countless times I never thought about it like that, but now I 100% agree
Yes I theorised that a male and female crow that were abused or neglected by their owners, their souls merged and then the 'her' side still loves humans but the 'him' sides hate humans.
And seems like black owl bird is a bird so he knows about spirit

I want to add something after playing the game again.
There is a character who also knows about "her".
First you must meet him in 1-8, he tells you that he want to sleep and you can meet him again later in the same place.
You can find him in 2-8 in the tunnel next to the fish can. He tells you things. You can check him out.

I have a theory about the first boss, if we follow the theory that all the animals were pets, who would have a giant dragon, nobody, so i think the dragon is a combination of most of the red monsters that were once there, maybe they would fight or just crash into eachother then, due to their form and other factors, they would end up mixing up, that's why the dragon has multiple eyes located in strange parts of their body, but the creppy part is the amount of monsters that this would take to happen, so the monsters that we face in the previous levels, would be more recent monsters that haven't encountered the dragon yet.
Oh that's a cool theory, I didn't even notice the weird eyes on the dragon until you pointed it out to me! In this case, what do you think the mosquito nest boss is?
@@SuperPhantomUser I have two theories, that it was always there and its just part of the fauna, or that it was born due to the existance of more red plants than usual and then it developed a connection with the mosquitos, and due to the people dying there it ended up growing into the thing we know today
@@AAA..._probably there is a red plant virus that made the GAINT FLY bad. Or it's just trying to protect the place because it's called 'the gaurdian'

To be fair, I honestly think that the Dragon was always there, being a protector of the Snowden Sanctuary(that's how the OST for the first world is named). However, that same corruption of the Treasures got to them in some sort of way, corrupted them, and malformed them into the beast that it is now.

I absolutely love the idea of the Crow using the bad memories of other animals as attacks against the cat, it just enhances the metaphor of the battle between them so much

i finished cat bird,cats are liquid,nameless cat,and many more cat games but nameless cat was diffrent i cried when saw the ending it was the best game i played and now im trying to beat the kitty death room

I think im late, but i have a theory
I think the spirit/crow, was once a pet, that had a bad caretaker, that would hit them. That explains why they took owlvin's wings, since i think the human did something to the spirit/crow's wings, that also explains the "they do not pet our heads like this!"
And when jellyhead said "that black chaotic thing" represented the spirit/crow's heart, cruel and chaotic. And that explains why the spirit wanted to eat the memories, since they thought the other humans were bad too.
Also, did you post a theory video with theories about nameless cat? If not, try to make one if you can! It would be nice to include my theory!

The whole thing about the Spirit makes sense - I always thought that the "black chaotic thing" was the portal to the Moon, but that makes much more sense! And no, I haven't made a theories video on Nameless Cat mainly because there's not as many that I or others have thought of

A theory:the "her" that the Spirit and olwvin were talking about could be Lumi(the white cat from cats are liquid).In Nameless cat and Cats ate Liquid Lumi is always referred as "she","her".and both of the have the ability to respawn.And when the Spirit says that the cat's eyes look similiar to hers,tha hers could be lumi by the fact they have both cyan/acqua eyes
Huh... I would like to believe that the Nameless Cat and Cats are Liquid games take place in the same universe or they have a connection, but it's probably unlikely since they're made by different developers. Would still be cool though and the theory does make sense!

Officially it is almost impossible but if you look at the beginning (try slowing the video down) the cat looks exactly like lumi before the landing so it seems like that could be the intention although it could also just be chasing shadows over a reference to a similar game that may have inspired them

When I hear the word "bittersweet", I always think of the medicine I had to take when I was sick. It was bitter, but they added some flavor to hide that. That didn't help, and it wasn't any better!
Nameless Cat, Cats are Liquid, and Catbird. Why are all the best mobile games about cats lol
The only mobile game I can think of that holds a candle to these is Monument Valley. (And I guess Geometry Dash, but thats also on Steam.)
I have to agree, people have really taken cats in mobile games and used them well. I've never played Monument Valley, though, maybe I'll check it out!

After 855 death's I finally completed this game, and it was preety awesome loved this game, and the ending was also kinda sad.
I literally have 1200 death, the cat was experiencing WW1 type of casualties

Something I'd love to know is what the caretaker used to be.
It seems that it's a soul but what was it when it was alive, was it a human or an animal. From how it said that it will go feed it pets it sounds like it used to be a human, but the way it makes us think again if we want to meet our owner feels like it was an @bused pet
I also want to know about the final bosses
Why are they so aggressive? It could maybe represent how some people make their pet battle with other pets even if they get injured. Basically thinking of every creature as a threat
The caretaker could be something in between a human and animal, like an angel or god, who has both power over animals and the ability to feel how abused animals can feel

It's not that you have skill issues, just the last world of Nameless Cat is really hard. Most people can agree on that. I'm actually planning another video discussing the difficulty spike in Nameless Cat and other mobile games with something similar

I have a theory:
Many people think that the reason for the cat's ability to teleport into crosses was that he was dead from the beginning. But the cat only gets such a power in 1-3. So what if the Spirit actually killed the cat at that moment and the cat didn't realise?
Why do I always thought that ''her'' was refering to Spirit? ಥ‿ಥ
To me, the "snowballs" are the cat's memories, which is why they are a treasure, and also why Spirit can't tell if they are just snowballs or the treasure
Spirit is saying that their "snowballs" so the cat doesn't know that their memories, and so they can steal them after the cat collects all of them. Pretty sneaky on their end

As someone who has completed the game and is a fan of it who does some fan-stuff quietly about the game, I just want to say thank you. Thank you for not only making a vid about the game, but also about going over the whole lore with dialogues. It really comes in handy, as I forgot certain details due to the challenges of the game!
Also, that theory about the wings of the Memorytaker(that's how I call the Caretaker(my way of naming Spirit, yes it's because of the first cutscene)'s second phase/Crow) being Owlvin's wings is actually God damn clever! Holy CRAP is it genius and dark! And, AND, good call on referring to the Caretaker as they/them. Not that I think the Caretaker is nonbinary, just that they are a pretty mysterious entity.
Tbh, I also think that the Caretaker is a crow that was abused by its' master, but I also think it might be a human, but with the implications, I doubt that them being a human is what was intended. Although, I DO think that they've been around for several centuries - how else do they possess such power?
Speaking of theories, I've seen a nice theory that Her is the Cat's master, however, that doesn't make sense. What I DO think makes sense is that she's the one who is depicted as thr statue at the beginning/end.

I mean, look at it this way: Nora is the ONLY full-on human in the crew. Everyone else is an animal(Owlvin, Late Wolf, etc.) or some form of it (Jelly Head(who is probably a jellyfish of sorts), Muscle Crab(who is a crab but a "bit" different), and Nora is the only human in the crew. Kinda weird, isn't it?
As well as that, do you think "Her" is the NC's Master or a different entity? Maybe she was a God of "The Other Side"(that's how I refer to the place where the game takes place) or something?
Also, did you know that a DLC Chapter/Chapter 4 is in production? While there hasn't been any updates about it, the game WAS updated fairly recently, like on September 7th iIrc, so it's likely still being made.

@@SuperPhantomUser I'm not exactly sure but I think that statue is made for “her” since other creatures including Spirit thinks of “her” (when he described cat's eyes) meaning he must've adored her or something like that. I don't know if it contains “her power” or not.

¿If someone wondering what are cans of canned fish are for?
They are used to buy furs in the main menu. Nora tells us in 1-12 that when we collect the cans we can exchange them for fur at the merchant on the menu.
Each fur is worth Ş5 or Ş10 cans of fish
There are 3 achievements 🎉 that you get after purchasing a specific amount of fur.
Achievements 🎉 like Cat Walk ( buy a fur) Prada Cat (buy 6 furs) and "Definitely not a Cat" ( buy all the outfits some of which are unfortunately worth real money🤕)

If you go into the cannon, then you're gonna hit the Spirit no matter what, and if you don't go into the cannon, the battle will go on forever until you die
