I just stumbled across this vid. My name is Jerry and I am the guy that started "Cruz the Coos" back in the early '90's, and "yes", I know that "Cruz" should be spelled "Cruise" but I liked the four letter harmony between "Cruz" and "Coos". So now you know' We had about 175 cars the first year and the last year that me and my friends ran it before turning it over to the "Sunset Classic Chevy, we had over 500. We really had a lot of fun doing it but I started long-haul trucking and just didn't have the time to devote to it. I am so proud that it is still going on and bigger and better than ever. At the time I was into classic Mustangs (had two '5 convertibles, a '71 Mach 1, a '72 coupe, and a '65 coupe), and these days I am into classic British cars ('71 Triumph TR6) and belong to a British car club based out of Florence. I love all the old cars and the people that "keep-em-on-da-road". F E V s ! (f**k electric vehicles) Long Live Cruz the Coos!!!
Thanks Duke for covering this show! I grew up in Coos Bay but left for college 45 years ago. We’d cruise on Friday and Saturday nights between the Dub’s. Coos Bay and North Bend both had one back then. One is a breakfast place now but I don’t know what the other is. I had a 57 Chev I put my heart and soul into back then. I wonder if any of these old guys are my high school buddies.
You're car show vids are excellent. That's what brought me to your channel. The panning of the cars, the short interviews of the owners, and the Rockbilly/Surf music is awesome! Most of the other car show vids pan too fast and too close and the music is "out of character" for classic cars. I now enjoy the Tiki hideaways, Vintage trailer, and Pinups vids, too. Keep 'em coming!

I went to the Cruise the Coos and 15 years ago. It was a three day event. What a Blast!
I think it may still be? Sadly only had a few hours to stop in before heading home. Lola has been under the weather.
@@BossaNovaLife Hope she feels better soon!

We interviewed him in another video earlier this year. :)
