I’ve struggled with false memories for years and still do. It’s great to see attention being put on this. Our brains our like computers and sometimes they glitch. It’s good to have some awareness on this.
My SSI report over 6 years and going back in time proved that I was telling the same information over time. So my memory is fine. I keep proving my memories with physical evidence from newspapers and other documents online. I just did it again recently.
Love this talk. I can't understand why this video which should have otherwise garnered a lot of positive attention is rather getting a lot of hate comments. Classic herd behavior. Man cool down. She is not making anything up. Bruh read a bit of psychology before commenting if you can, please.
Ummm, I don't look back at my life with "rosy retrospection". I know that memories are almost never truly accurate even of something that just occurred an hour ago. However, much of what she said is not necessarily true to all people, for instance, the 3 year old's memory. I got a kick out of the over 40 statements too. That was hilarious. People in their 40's would only have a take on what our country was like starting in the late 80's-90's. That time is definitely not the "time our country was great" that the MAGA movement is talking about. This whole presentation is apparently based on the speaker's experience or, non-experience and absolutely does not apply to everyone.

Children Should always be believed and investigated. False positives do exist and False Memories do absolutely exist. Our culture and legal system is pretty messed up. Broken!

All these things don’t exist ! All these techniques are invented and used to manipulate and control the patient or infantilize the patient! They use the patient as a kind of PREY to their experiments and manipulations! I am doing a PhD in music therapy and I also study the branch of neuropsychology and I know the field very well and for a very long time ! And it becomes a kind of sectarian drift in psychotherapy ! And other reasons also, it is to earn MONEY! Like I say all the time, «Know yourself and believe in your instinct» !

Percentage rates of poverty, hunger, homelessness, violent death, crime, illiteracy rates and just about everything thing else has plummeted. A few upticks here and there, like the availability of intentional misinformation, anxiety with media obsessed people, and of course the ever present "this dystopian new world is about to come to a firy end!" Zeitgeist that has been around as long as society has (reference all religious texts) is still healthy and alive in the fearful and paranoid 😀 Though, with the way of environmental treatment, that last part may or may not be more real than ever, im commenting only on the human state of affairs. Which, sweetheart, im sure is mainly what you're concerned with... of course

answer me this why do people want to come here if this country is so bad, I immigrated from Mexico to here because I was starving in Mexico, I believe USA is an amazing country I guess when one experienced violence and poverty one may have different perspective, I can't understand why you do not like this country when my self and millions of people left their countries for USA because we thought it is much better.

There’s a breadth of research on this, plenty of studies have found such results, most not done by her. Perhaps review the research before you post arrogant comments online.
The problem with "Dr" Shaw: It's highly likely that she received preferential treatment (due to her attractive looks) all her life, which might explain why she had an easy career and why she has self-confidence. She basically lives in a constant delusional state of mind, she doesn't grasp that she really is NOT a legit scientist who produces valuable research. When you are highly attractive like her, you don't even need to be in touch with reality. You don't have to be innovative or talented in order to succeed in academia, it's fully sufficient to just reiterate second hand information from legit researchers in an infotainment way of presentation. She is essentially an "academic It girl" who grabs the research of actual scientists to built her pop shows and publications around them. She does not really contribute or create knowledge herself.

She has a standard American accent, nothing valley girl about it other than the fact that she has a female voice. 'Cause she's a woman. Is that your problem? Also about the statement that she doesn't create knowledge herself: her 2015 publication has 7.5k reads and 56 citations on ResearchGate. Looks like people are using her knowledge as source huh? It's almost like science is a collective effort and people build upon each other's findings instead of finding out the laws of physics themselves from scratch and going from there.

Her book the memory illusion is a fantastic book but I must admit I thought I was reading a book written by a 50 plus year old with grey hair.
