Thankyasir for more great content. We love watching your vids and listening to the way you go about things. You’re so right about these engines and more VW enthusiasts should pay attention to your methods.

When I was a kid a J.C. Whitney parts catalog was my most favorite magazine.

I remember ordering vw parts from the vw J.C. Whitney edition, catalog back in the late 90's. I still have a few of the catalogs.

One more thing about oil cooler seals. If you have a really complete set of engine gaskets you'll find in it 2 green oil cooler seals that have tapered holes going thru them. They look almost like the red ones but they're for mounting a Type 3 oil cooler to an old case or visa-versa.

@@OkFixer They do machine work and have good stuff like lightened flywheels for reasonable and they are air-cooled specialists. Glad to be of help.

Yep...you got the wrong seals. That is an odd place for an oil pressure switch. I tried those silicone seals on my valve covers, I thought they'd be neat but I could never get them to seal. I do use the silicone seals on the oil strainer, they work much better than those paper ones. They also sell silicone seals for the oil filler cap but they cut them way too thick making it hard to put the cap on. I just use engine oil on my valve cover gaskets so they come right off, if you use permatex you will be scraping them off.
