That's probably what I'll get someday to restore. A friend has a really nice 1958 to restore but when it comes to donor parts there are allot more 70's around still

Yes, the old cars are a fortune. However there are many 65 and up (new body style) to have relatively cheap.

yea There are parts for those everywhere. Used stuff instead of these entitled new parts prices. OMG.....

I see a few 66 on Marketplace but most are listed as parts cars, basically a shell. But there is a few roll-around too. Problem with that is the part number match up when you finally go to get the license for it. I'm not sure but if the body doesn't match the chassis, then they may not give a license for it? not sure how that works from state to state?

Nice F-150; I love all cars and Ford is one of my favorites. Those things are workhorses.

It was given to me with loads of problems. Biggest being it needed a new differential. It took a little while but fixed all the small stuff. The coolest thing about it was that it had zero rot or rust. Oklahoma you know…. Things just get dusty and sunburned. But the metal lasts forever.

That 70 body in is in good shape. It will make getting the other 70 bug, a lot easier, to get it back on the road.

if you dont have a welder that new one I just reviewed was $169 and OMG it worked really good. Cheap and tiny.

I’ll have to look at it. My current welder is a Lincoln 125 flux core.
It was all I could afford at the time (used) .
My welding problems stem from flux core welding. It’s messy.
I want a solid core on nitrogen. I’ve been looking.
And I will probably get one soon. (Used of course) ha ha ha.
      Thank you for your comments.

yea that makes a high budget car Reasonable. The stuff on that body is totally normal California rust. So you cant find much better than that. So Get Busy. Get the old Harbor freight tent up and strip er down.

Hey Dan ! good find but I got something you mite not like to hear . To be period correct Dual Port 1600 .

      @OkFixer  7 месяцев назад +1

You can make period correct engines reasonably easy with guys like Volkzbitz and Sparkzwerks. Although pricy, it’s completely doable.
Older original engines are out there, still in good shape.
If they were stored in say…an old shipping container, or trailer (saw both recently) even for 40 years, nothing will happen to them provided they are out of the weather.

The 70 type 1 still had 1600 single port engine. 1971 type 1, and up, was the first year with the 1600 dual port engines
