At the parts store, carefully read the individual labels of each of the 4 quarts. I grabbed 3 cvt (yellow), and 1 automatic (red). At a glance they looked the same.
it the transmission pan that you want to level so place the level against the pan. There is also o-rings for the housing that should be replaced at this time.
Good video, How hard would it have been for Honda to design a dipstick into this? You're on the road and have a leak and you can't simply check and add fluid.. They need a plug in the cooler circuit that you could pull for this OCI operation, just overfill the sump, idle until clean oil comes out of the port and kill the engine. Install the plug and check fluid level. Hot oil comes from the Torque Converter directly to the cooler bc that's the main heat generator of the transmission. That's where the other 2-3 qts of that real dark oil is sitting. Would we allow half the oil change in the engine and call it good?? If your oil comes out this dark do this oil change 10K miles earlier next time. This oil is too dark(Overheated) IMHO. You need to do this 2-3 times to get the rest of the oil out that's still trapped in the CVT. I like Acura/Honda products but there's a reason they don't make Spark Plugs, Belts, tires and oil. There are better Full Synthetic oils that will last longer and pass the stress test better than Honda oil. If they are thicker I like them better bc film strength is in the oil, the thicker the oil, the thicker the film strength. This cuts down on wear, better cooling capabilities for any hot spots in the CVT and will absorb temp spikes and recover to normal function much better. HIH
@@joehowtonice vid. Thanks for sharing. Some say just change the CVT fluid at 30k and change the filters at 60k. There are two. The one you changed and there is another filter where you have to remove the transmission pan. The fluid and filter you removed looks quite dirty at 50k. On another channel both filters looked fairly clean at 30k.
I thought only 2 bolts that hold the warmer. I was stupid. I thought it stuck to the engine so I used a pry bar to pry it out and bent the metal. There was a electric connector under the warmer and I thought the coolant may cause electric shock, so I disconnected the battery.
Very good video. Finding a step by step of the cvt warmer filter is difficult. I really appreciate your help.
Thanks for the video tutorial Ray Ramano 👌🏼
Doing mine next weekend thank you for the tutorial

Should only be using the Honda OEM stuff in these
@matthewpierce6420 yes only oem meet the requirements for auto manufacturers.

Thanks for the video buddy!
Good information thank you!
very well done thanks
Thank you. Please help to hit the like button.
You think it would be possible for a Cvt cooler
thanks 👍

Thanx for educating us. Just wanted to know that when do we need ro replace this filter? After how many miles?
12:10
I couldn't find anything from Honda. I just replaced it when I replace the fluid

how did you bent the metal like that. Trying to figure that out. This is thick metal. also, why did you disconnect the battery?

Do you know if the 2021 Honda Civics with the 1.5T motor has the same filter for their CVT transmissions?

How frequently should we replace the filter?
I don't know exactly. I will do it every 60k miles
Plz reply, is the engine movement normal while breaking open the bolt? Does that mean it needs new motor mounts or transmission mounts?
What bolt are you mentioning? Thanks
@@joehowto the transmission bolt you removed. While doing so the whole engine and transmission moved a little. Is that normal?
@@dbdnrbdb I didn't remove any bolts holding the transmission
@@joehowto the drain bolt..
@@dbdnrbdb the drain bolt is not related to any transmission bolts or mount.
What happend if after this on the dashboard i see the symbol of PRNDSL at the same time? What i need to do?
what do you mean "PRNDSL" on dash board. Mine does not show anything on the dashboard
@joehowto Parking Reverse Neutral Drive Sport L... all the symbols in one slot
@@Demoggiato You need to shift the through those during transmissin fluid change
@@joehowto i made that but the symbols still intermittent
There’s a pan filter that also needs to be changed. And use 100% synthetic CVT oil.

Mine looks nothing like this. I can see the filler without even touching the airbox.
you have a different engine. yours is the 1.5T, the engine in the video is the 2.0 NA.
U forgot to change the pan filter
