    Try flat wounds on JJ pickups/ passive.....One of my faves. I use custom Ernie Ball flat wounds. I have found they helped me with technical playing, due to how unforgiving they are. Lol

    If you mean "slimey" in terms of actual playing feel, I think some lower end flats have finishes or coatings that really just are not super awesome. For example, D'addario Chromes tended to strike me as having a powdery feel/coating that was sort of uncomfortable. La Bellas or TIs feel like a proper clean finished metal. My Pyramids came with a very slight amount of some kind of grease on the surface, not sure why.

    What kind of strings are those on the Pino? I just threw some TI jazz flats on my Roger Waters P and holy crap what a difference from the rounds I had on it before. I’m not a P bass guy at all but those strings make me want to play it more than anything right now.
