I ran nothing but flats from the mid 60's until the mid 80's and still have them on two of my basses. At one time flats were all they made for Bass...

Damn, can I just say that Bully’s technique is so great. The fluency on the neck and the dexterity is fabulous. I wish I could just slide easy and clean on the fretboard one day.

Bully that cut tone with the flats was fire dude. You need to keep working with those. Labella and GgHS have the best sounding flats ! Stay cool man !

I've always liked the tone of the flats and no noise as you slide across the strings. I usually keep a set on at least one of my basses.

I've been playing for nearly 30 years and I've never used flats. I've just got my first acoustic bass a few days ago and I've decided to get rid of the bronze (scratch-tastic) strings it has on there and see how a set of flats would sound on it. Hopefully, I'll enjoy myself as much as you just did. Thanks for sharing your video and talent, man. Much appreciated 🙏

To me flats especially on a p style bass are where it's at. I grew up listening to Duck Dunn, David Hood and Jamerson. I still have rounds on my Stingray and one J bass.

Some fun aren’t they? I’ve had mine for 3 years now, still have that same wonderful feel, and they just keep sounding great.👍🏻

Your laughing made me laugh. Please don't apologize for liking flats. I started on upright, so flat is the feel I was used to. Most of my bass guitars have flats on them now, and I like them because they make those instruments sound more like basses than guitars. However, I really like playing rounds as well because they're fun -- but only around the house. The flats get the gigs. Thanks for yet another excellent video.

I use flats on my p-bass. I love them. Only found out about them because they were what was on it when I bought it.
But yeah. It's what uprights use, right?

Try a sponge mute... you will have to adjust intonation with the sponge in place because it does have an affect.

I always thought you only used flat wounds on a fret less bass (shows you just how much i know😊) secondly i thought any second now he's going to slap it😊
