    It specifically states on the dip stick to NOT screw cap on threads to check engine oil level.

    • @nickduggan503
      @nickduggan503 3 года назад

      This will probably be low on oil and when it fills oil filter after starting it will be even lower.

    • @WesternEquipment
      @WesternEquipment  3 года назад

      Good catch. I realized this a while back and I will be making sure it is done correctly from now on.

      The oil filter would actually seal better without the oil finger wipe but it is done to make getting the filter off easier in the future.

    How do you remove the oil drain valve completely? Mine is leaking where the valve screws into the motor. Due to the 90 degree where the hose clamps on, I can’t unscrew it because it hits the frame.

    Thanks for the video, Do you use anti seize on the plugs? Any thoughts on doing the same video for the Gator 4x2 tx.. I ordered the home kit from you thanks...

      Glad it helped you out. I do not use anti-seize but I don't think it would hurt of you did. I am hoping this winter to get some gator service videos done so stay tuned.

    You are not supposed to screw down the dipstick to read the oil level. The cap of the dipstick should only rest on the threads to get the reading otherwise you will get an incorrect oil level reading.

    Make sure people to warm up your engine to drain the oil faster.

      @@WesternEquipment No, never planned on having one. I plan on having the Z970 instead. I just really wanna see something diesel related involving maintenance, mow an acre, etc mainly the 997. I know you did the 994, but that was only a walkaround.

    How do you remove the drain valve? Mine is leaking out of there and need to replace it with the o ring?

    • @WesternEquipment
      @WesternEquipment  Год назад

      You can either just screw out the inner valve or you can screw off the whole valve assembly.

      @@WesternEquipment the valve assembly hits the frame because it has the T. Didn’t know if there was a trick other then unbolting the motor

    How often are you required to change oil and all this service, after how many hours?

    • @WesternEquipment
      @WesternEquipment  2 года назад

      Oil should be every 50 hours or annually. The other service points vary but as a rule of thumb it is usually good to do these all when you change your oil just to make sure you are covering your bases. Thanks for watching!
