One thing I love about being old is seeing young folks use tech to figure stuff out and catch fish. Great idea! I was halibuting in the surf in the late 50s. Keep at it.
Thanks for watching!
tech is just the new faster version of books. I reckon I have learned majority of knowledge in life from internet. 36 yrs old
June did this, too. guess I'm late on the jump for this one, lol.
Love the Channel, I live in Florida and do a lot of Flounder fishing which is kind of similar, but flounder are a little smaller.
All part of the challenge haha
Nice limit Adam, that last 35 incher was a nice one! I used to catch my halibut out of Pismo Bay and never caught one over 30.
Nice job on your catches of those Fish! Just awesome 👍😎😎👍
Great video. I have to get out and catch some squid and rockfish myself. That being said since one of the criteria is knowing the rules and regulations, you must have a folding/collapsible net stored out of sight. Just making sure that you are aware of the requirement of having a landing net aboard according to CCR 28.65 (d) 👍🏼
another busy halibut day! Great fish.
I remember reading at 22 inch a Ca halibut is old enough to reproduce at least once.
Love my Lexa! Boated a 30lb yellowtail with mine 1st trip out. Goes great with the phenix M1 inshore rod
Another Nice video! Great job Adam
If you could only go out of Crescent City to catch a California halibut what month would you do it in. any advice would be greatly appreciated, It's the only place I know with easy access with a pedal drive kayak. I catch a lot of Lincoln and rock fish. But I had a hollow event that was wider than my kayak at 1 time.. But I did not have a gaff. Your channel is great and very informative
Solid work as always 🤙
In Alaska, we like the low tide periods for halibut because we are often fishing quite deep (200 feet plus) and the tides are strong. At low tide, it is easier to keep your baits more or less vertical. Also because of the typical conditions here we rarely troll for halibut. BTW I did get the opportunity to visit San Francisco 3 years ago in May and on one day off, caught 3 legal-size halibut from shore on the fly! Best wishes - Flyrodking.
Thats awesome! I guess AI did know what it was talking about! haha
Awesome video! How do you secure your GoPro (or camera) on the front of kayak?
Very cool as usual, great stuff to watch.
Different but cool video. Nice catch. That squid catching was insane
Awesome video! 🤘
Hi, I am new to kayak fishing. From where do you launch for halibut fishing?
Great catches, and very instructive! What if you could use AI to refine your tried-and-true techniques?
Another fine video. Thanks .
Was gonna go to Oyster Point this weekend but think I will head out to these grounds as I know that area a lot better.
Is that HMB or Monterrey?
@@FlipFlopFisher I’ll just say it’s not HMB 😂
What fish measurement board do you use? I'd like to purchase something like that?
Adam, nice job getting the limit of halibuts.
just found ur channel great vids man . 👍🐟🐟
Thanks for watching!
Me “AI, how do I catch halibut?”
AI “ follow Die Hard Fishing “
🍻
hahahaha
Cool vids, What vest are you using ?
👍👍👍Just curious what battery do you have?
what location is that where you are fishing?
Nice hat trick!!!
Hey bro how is your kayak rigged up?
Nice video!
Nice catch where are fishing at?
Damn Adam you never fail on these videos bud, maybe some bucktails next time bud, good luck take care 👍🎣
Great idea!
...I especially liked your concluding remarks...TOP!!!
When you grab the fish on the gills like that, doesn't that hurt the fish? Ot restricts the fish from open and closing its gills... doesn't make it bleed?
I don't pinch it too hard and I have never had one bleed from it
nice day Adam, that swell looked a little challenging.
If they ever start stocking AI Halibut in the bay they will probably program them to be too smart to catch Lol
Where you fishing at halibut slayer?
I’m always curious, when you bonk and bleed your fish and hang them on a stringer over the side doesn’t that call in the sharks and eat the ones on the stringer?
I've never had any issues with the sharks but I only leave it there for a few minutes before throwing them in my cooler bag
Dang Adam. 😂 very nice
Is that the lexa 300 or 400?
Awesome video! what type of rods are you using?
It appears to me that he is using a Lamiglas Battle glass pole
Just curious if u ever encounter Great white shark's? Just started viewing your videos & worry when I see u dragging fish behind u.
Skynet wants to know " why doesn't he just eat the squid?"
My question as well, having eaten both squid and halibut.
I eat both!
AI scares the crap out of me! Kool to see you on the conservative & 2A sights, brother! Tight lines!!
What’s the leader length and Does the leader length even matter?
After about 60 years of surf casting I've learned that fish and California Halibut in particular do not like to be around people!
👽 AI Fishing…amazing!🤘🏻
Nice limit, among a flotilla of other kayak fishers. Too many ads are annoying, but if needed to pay the bills; OK. Panko, pan fried squid covered in spicy red sauce better than the Halibut!!
Man you done took the best fish out of Monterey Bay
Where is this at?
located ????????????
Alaska? Or Oregon
LMAO! Don't you think that Halibut would be feeding where the Squid are?
You would think so! but That was a little too deep for typical halibut areas IMO
Good shows , like and stay connected ❤
Lmao I did this shit too. Gnarly. But it say low slack is Hali time to me too.
I seen Jun aka More than Fishing use Chat GPT last week , to catch Halibut , and he ended up catching one.
What squid jig do you like?
My Dad when he was alive use to tell me:'Boy you are death on Flys ' Well Adam you are most surely 'death on Halibut '.👍
hahaha thanks!
Are you barbless in this area?
Not for halibut
Where did you mount your transducer?
I have it mounted to my gear track
Does anyone know if you can use a castnet to catch squid?
Squid are usually deep use a squid jig. No one catches them with a cast net that I know of
28.80 in DFW code states. Several baits including Squid may be taken with up to 36 inch diameter dip nets or bait hoop and then north of point conception Hawaiian style throw nets may be used.
@@jimbo4612 I didn’t say it not legal. I just meant I don’t think anyone catches that way. If you can catch squid with a cast net let me know!
Think those red vermilions are y’all’s coolest fish
And very tasty!
That last third one was definitely worth putting back the other one. Nice job Adam.
Sounds like you’re in a storm dude how do you even handle that on a kayak
Squid make it to half moon bay yet ?
Are you from the central coast?
I will only follow the advice of the Live Bait KING 🎣
lots of wind noise today
Sorry about that!
If your surf fishing low tide hits
Live bait never fails
A half inch buffer is smart , because a quarter inch short will cost you $150.00 !
It always amazes me how white they are on the bottom there like a unnatural white especially compared to the top side. There bottom side almost looks fake from how white they are. Such a beautiful fish.
Yeah its crazy!
I can't even imagine using AI chat for fishing advice! This is like asking the Devil the best church to go to! No I am not a fan of AI. Nice halibut btw.
Have you ever gone jigging for Humboldt squid?
Never, but that would be fun!
Nice sharing my dear HAVE a GREAT day STAY CONNECT
ARRGGHH the wind is killing my ears
Sorry about that!
No more spyware !
Did you and more than fishing think of this at the same time? Or did you take inspiration from his video. If this was mentioned sorry
We just happened to do it at the same time lol. I didn't know until I saw his vid yesterday!
A I has you hooked by the nose
I didn’t know squid can be found in the bay
read up on the Monterey canning and fishing history
It feels like this was done before by another Bay Area fisherman 🤔
you ever drop your phone in the water?
I would like to see AI actually do the fishing in stead of telling you what you all ready know how to do 😂
Always catching them buts
Take the pup on the kayak
Invest in a mic filter that wind noise is so annoying!
THIS is the content I’m here for. I, for one, welcome our robot overlords.
Interesting how you kept 3 hali. and always had empty stringer for each fish🤣
He keeps a cooler behind him in the kayak.
@@liljkrz Thank you
These are definitely 2 different days or times. The rods are different too. Lol
Rods are the same!
Hey I have a question in life for Asians it's proper tradition but in America it's very difficult to have a mutual understanding like us right now in the south bay there are plazas that are for business contracts import export recycling new old used but I do not want to ask for example you if you and your groups will looked down upon And or disrespect that culture if they have someone else already in mind please let the generation you grew up with know because some are not aware of that if not at all and majority do have to learn and or acknowledge from their own house up and coming thanks pal always
What happened to your wind buffer on your mic? Forget it?
I had it but it was super windy out there!
❤
Hi.
Human Intuition > AI
Great video but F AI!!!
tie your ShatGPT to a 10 oz lead ball and drop it to the bottom. kill it. wind-noise onthis video is really bad
That's not AI, but fun all the same.
This is AI by definition, what are you talking about?
Don’t cover your face with the text. Fuck what they say
lol more than fishing did it too
