      One of the things I don’t like about it is that it’s not a self contained and serve as a set up for another season. I also don’t like the reused plot twist from season 1. Other than that, it’s fine.

      Finally someone with some sense. Yes the season is still good, it doesn't have to be as good as season 1 because season 1 was lightning in a bottle. This season is still good in it's own way, period.

    I don’t get the complaints about the main character I mean he’s not a perfect person. We establish that in the first season, but he is trying to redeem himself. That’s why he went back to rescue the people.

      Personally I can’t see the reason behind it. Anything he buys can be bought out from them because they have more resources.
      He has no guarantee the games would even be the same.
      It was unrealistic to think he could take down a system that creates rich people like him every year.
      He essentially trying to solve an equation without all information.
      If he really wanted to save lives he would’ve used his money to create jobs and create a foundation to inform people about the dangers of gambling. Maybe create a debt helping center.
      As of now he went in thinking he could out resource (mercenary, tracker , guns) a juggernaut system with seemingly infinite amounts of resources.

    • @Ima_Wake
      @Ima_Wake 2 дня назад

      @@W34KN35S Exactly! And like the ladies said, if he was really serious about taking down the system, he would have used the remaining stacks and stacks and stacks of cash to get a larger army/resources. There should not have been a single won left before he went back in. The resources he used were insufficient for the task.
      So now if he dies, his daughter is fatherless (yes, step dad is still there but she was still hopeful he would step up) and the stacks of cash remain in a dilapidated building.

    It was frustrating to see the characters being oblivious to the obvious signs, but I did enjoy season 2. I loved seeing the frontman playing the total mind game with Gi Hun while keeping the games going. In Ho told him he would regret not getting on that plane. The show reflects society. The elite controls everything while looking at the masses as stupid race horses running around with blinders. Hopefully, season 3, gives us what we got in season 1. The first 3 numbers on the crypto guy's card number was 456. I believe he and this pregnant girl will be among the finalist. I also believe the frontman is the son of the old man in Season 1. Gi Hun thinks he won over the old man on his last day, but I feel In Ho, once revealed will let Gi Hun know they staged that game. In Ho was in that room that day.

    I did feel like Gi-hun should have suspected Player 001 given what happened in the last game and I did expect him to enter the games either as a VIP or a "soldier/worker"
    🙁
    Edit: I understand why Gi-hun went back into the game bec. in the 1st season, he was described as someone, who joined a strike. That's been his character all along: he deeply connects with co-workers but he neglects/abuses the women in his family.

    Jun Ho's storyline this season reminds me of JRR Tolkein books that I read in high school. I didn't need to read about how them hobbits were walking through the forests, and up mountains, and through the valley, for so many pages! Just like we didn't need to watch Jun Ho go with the captain leading him on a search to nowhere for so many minutes. It was definitely a waste of time.

  • @DorisClay
    @DorisClay 20 часов назад

    S2 is a continuation of S1 and I like it fine. I interpret it as watching those that have been involved in the games' madness take over. They all go crazy and become obsessed with different things and it's sad but interesting to see. The finale is whack, but being that I know kdramas, I blame Netflix for forcing splitting the season up and trying to call it s2 and s3.

  • @Brianmoore53

    I actually liked Squid Games 2. The social commentary is relatable to our current sociopolitical period where certain people will vote against their own self interest or some how will ignore the exploitation of the rich because they think they will be rich as well someday. Also w Gi-hun I have always seen him more as an anti hero similar to Walter White from Breaking Bad or Tony Soprano. Yes he has some undesirable qualities but I like layered characters to root for because at least he ain’t a murdering psychopath and there are lines he won’t cross

    Someone call them Wayanses, we need a black American version of this show, then it will be thoroughly satisfying. How it is currently written, it's very kdrama, and this is what you get with a drama (as a drama fan who is frequently enraged by the stupidity within them).

    I think the side characters were fun. Thanos was my fav, I think he perfectly embodied a whack wannabe hot rapper who thinks he's cool, and I think some drugs do make you act goofy. The other ones seemed more modern and diverse but also maybe they were trying to show some key characters that you often see in kdramas. True I barely cared about any of them, but I think that it's because this group is a bunch of trash people who needed money for trash reasons. Like you can't really expect to have good people be this desperate for money, and this money hungry as to keep voting to stay in murder games. For the most part we just had a bunch of people who made dumb decisions that lost them all their money and so they were willing to try any random thing to make a quick buck. They're not smart people or they wouldn't be in this situation. Even the Mom, though not directly her debt, she still raised, coddled and enabled a pathetic selfish gambler. The youtube clearly is addicted to investing, and there's a ton of investing scams in Korea that make you go broke. That man who lost 10 million dollars or whatever, who knows wtf he did to do that, but probably some shady business. Then a select few including the trans woman, pregnant girl, and a couple others might have no family to help them and no way to earn enough money to live so they took a chance on this.
    The games were quite lackluster, but also we didn't see as many games as they didn't get that far yet (because the I will stand on this season was cut in half so is incomplete). It wasn't until the later games in S1 that they started getting real good, but we're not there yet. And we had to watch them vote after every freaking one, which was another waste of my time, those scenes could've been shortened drasticly.

    The main character is a deadbeat. He still a deadbeat. He just has a pseudo god complex now. Who abandons their child after winning millions, only to waste it on a hero/suicide mission? OH BROTHER! What a loser. His facial expressions the entire second season annoyed me to no end (oh no! Look out, the main character is mad lol).
    The fake hero storyline is frustrating. To think, all those people died in a shootout because of him….argh. Btw, he only won around $32 million USD (I say this because the character squanders it as if it’s BILLIONS in USD - and sends his ex wife and daughter ZERO). Let that sink in. Anyways.

    This season kept not making sense! From the first minute of the first episode wasn't making any sense. The main character cut the tracker out of his head. Then he stays!?!? He has the money, he is free. I agree with everything you're saying! I just got done watching this season and I kept thinking- why would these people watch these other people get shot up and think they wouldn't die, too? The biggest thing for me off the bat was- fool, they change the games every year. We know that from watching the first season. I can't even go on in this comment about everything that made no sense because I would write a book. Thanks for this awesome stream. I'm looking forward to watching you more. One last thing, I doubt I'm going to watch season 3.
