Why Raw Meat Is the Latest Online Diet Craze

  • VICE News’s Alice Hines reports on the Carnivore Diet, a new health craze that counts Joe Rogan, Jordan Peterson, and Heidi Montag as fans. According to adherents, raw meat - and specifically weird cuts of organs - are the ultimate sources of health and strength. They’re also a way to rebel against the mainstream narrative (some call it “the vegan agenda”) that too much red meat is bad for the planet and our health.

The denial he's talking about in itself is cognitive dissonance and it could happend to almost anybody, point is that vegans are starving and religious. It's often an ego thing. Kinda like proving a christian that god isn't realm, for example. They'll have a meltdown and stay in complete denial.
Their moral worldview, and their entire lifestyle, shatters.
The thing with starvation is that veganism is a diet lacking a lot of nutrients. And when you're starving, your mind will fog up with hate and frustration.

Before I started Cornivore way of eating, I've been overweight, was pre diabetic, had high blood pressure , low energy levels ( highs and lows) etc
Tried multiple diets, nothing worked, then one day , while researching I stumbled on Cornivore woe, when started, it took my body about 10 days to 2 weeks to adjust, meaning, it started using fat instead of carbs and sugar as as a fuel or energy.
You body goes through carbs/sugar withdrawal, some headaches, nausea, diarrhea etc, but after about 2 weeks, I started feeling great, high energy, very focused, there's a balance in energy, didn't have any more sugar/carbs cravings.
After about 3 months I lost 45lbs, reversed pre Diabetes , became insulin sensitive, my blood pressure and my blood work numbers have never been better.
There are thousands of people who have got rid of depression and anxiety, Cornivore woe has also helped many with auto immune disorder, leaking gut etc.
I've actually gained muscle while lost fat, because of high protein in meats.
Just to mention, I m not a Dr , this has worked for me , not everyone is the same.
If someone is interested there are many Doctors, Hormone specialists, Holistic doctors on You Tube who talk about Cornivore and Keto way of eating..
One of the best in my opinion are Dr Eckberg, Dr Eric Berg , Jason Fung and KenDBerryMD who helped me immensely making the best decision in my life.

As I worked at a wolf sanctuary I have processed a lot of animals. One thing I agree with is to understand where meat comes from what it is. Kids now days often grow up believing meat grows in the supermarket. Also I can just support utilizing the whole animal, besides the brain (mad cow disease/chronic wasting disease) and not uncooked.
Besides all this there is enough evidence that too much consumption is bad for your health in a long run and even worse for the planet. So limiting it benefits us all. Therefore I'm also eating mostly plant-based alternatives (yeah unfortunately I'm not great at plain veggies) and enjoy a piece of meat (really enjoy and not just stuff it my face) once in a while.
I'm not a friend of extreme veganism but they also point out the deplorable conditions most of the meat industry is offering the animals we eat.

actually, when you read the study there are significant links to rare disease. The meta-analysis points out that not all experiments saw this significant increase, but that was likely due to the consumer having a more balanced diet range consisted of eating 50g to 100g a day of meat. The risk increased as the g of consumption increased for many disease but not all, yet they did not study people who ate only a carnivore diet likely due to it being too unhealthy to put a study group through eating only meat. I know its difficult to read scientific studies, but your conclusion is incorrect. 100g of meat is nowhere near what these carnivores are eating.

Here in Switzerland (and probably in neighboring countries as well) we eat a lot of raw meat, it's called 'Tatar', its basically ground beef (from a good cut) mixed with sauce and seasoning. Also in the Netherlands, you can buy something similar ready-made in every supermarket, which is delicious and funny enough called 'filet american' .... not sure why now all of a sudden people go crazy for eating blocks of raw meat. Raw meat has less taste (so you season and sauce it) and the collagen is fully holding the muscle strands together, so unless it's wagyu, also the texture is mostly too chewy. If you want to eat raw beef, do it like we do, it's amazing.

The theory is that plants are stressors and meat is structure. Your body needs structure to grow new cells. Protein is the most nutrient rich source of food with organic meat being the highest in it. I mean it's not even debated in the medical field and amongst academics, it's quite clear that veganism(if done properly) is VASTLY more healthy than any other diet.
There hasn't just been studies done 1000 times in 100000 different ways, its obvious because the longest living people in the world eat none or almost no meat and eat a lot of fresh foods.
The guy in this video said "theyre trying to feed you stuff that will get you sick so you depend on big pharma", when ironically eating meat, especially red meats, are a one way ticket to clogged arteries when you're older.
What I will say though is that eating healthy as a vegan is incredibly difficult. It's very difficult to make things that are on par taste wise as animal products and it's difficult to get all the nutrients you need, whereas meat has almost everything the body needs.
I am not a vegan for the record, i've tried and it just wasn't worth the work to me. Maybe i'll regret it in 50 years, but until then i've made a choice to at least eat healthy whenever it's a convenience to me, so I do give it some effort, but truly i've got more important things to do imo.

After 3 months of only meat, my body was so happy to eat an orange, banana, honey, milk, and potatoes. I do believe it is important to not eat any processed foods, grains, sugar, and junk. Meat causing constipation is another propagandised myth. If you eat meat raw is is bound to structured water just like your body right now and the associated fat. If it's cooked meat then you would consume it with extra fat and water or other liquids. Usually constipation in a carnivores diet is rare and results from not eating enough healthy saturated fat.

I think the issue is HOW and WHERE Americans get the meat they consume. Most don't have access to a farm that has ethical practices. Most are buying Tyson which are farmed chickens in horrible health conditions. It's not that meat is bad. It's how is that animal raised, what is it fed etc. It needs to be clean meat.
A deer you hunt yourself will always be a better alternative than buying meat in a store but people don't want the blood on their hands or to clean the animals. They want to pickup a trimmed piece of meat ready to cook.
